River City Bagels

The bagels here are great! My office mates and I will usually buy a bag every couple of weeks. The lox spread is delicious!
They take call-​in orders if you are low on time. Only tip I have is to avoid the breakfast burrito unless you like A LOT of mushy potatoes in your burrito… the burritos are 90% potato.

I’m guessing this is a busy spot on the weekdays because of the DMV offices nearby. I was just hoping in to get a quick bite of food because I tried to go to a different place that was closed nearby and was just too tired to keep driving further.
I got a Thai chicken wrap for about $ 5.50. It was majorly saucy but otherwise, good with loads of veggies. Really good office lunch but not much by way of atmosphere. Good for a cheap, on-​the-​go lunch.

Bagels at around noon on a Saturday from River City apparently means everything is running out and there’s not much to choose from.
My garlic bagel, while creative with huge chunks of toasted garlic on the outside, became burned and disgusting when that garlic was toasted with the bagel. Bitter!
My jalapeño bagel was good.
Neither was toasted quite enough. Probably be back on another weekend. Being closed on Sunday sucks. That’s when people eat bagels. NOT HERE.

This place is always a go to when you need something fast and yummy! Their chicken is delicious and the owners are very friendly! This spot is a mom and pop shop and not fancy but they have great service and the shop is kept clean.

Great $ 4 Breakfast Burritos! Fast, cheap, hot, and tasty. Just like I like my women.

Great fresh bagels taste delicious, freshly made. Good sandwich for a great price. The bagel sandwich needed some real cheese, would have made it taste AMAZING, instead of pre sliced singles.

Great food and bagels, fast, efficient service, good value. What more could you ask?
I have had the bagels and «to-​go» cream cheeses to stock up at home, breakfast sandwiches, the house chicken sandwich, eggrolls, and the teriyaki chicken plate. All were very good breakfasts/​lunches and a good value.
Don’t let the line at lunch time discourage you! Usually everyone’s order has already been taken and they are very quick to get your food out, even when they are busy.
This place has become a daily staple for me since moving into Curtis Park, and I recommend it to anyone wanting breakfast, lunch, or if you are in the mood for a «light» lunch they have salad options that are even cheaper!

Tried their chicken house sandwich on sourdough and I have to say they have done an excellent flavor combo. It was wholesome crisp fresh sweet and a touch of spice. Chicken with lettuce tomato cucumber and onion on toasted chewy sourdough bread with a house made sweet and spicy sauce. Perfect and Filling.

Excellent bagel sandwich and coffee on a quiet Saturday morning. We didn’t expect the place to be open but it was… great customer service, a bit low on selection but it was the weekend. Bagel was toasted perfectly, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Very glad we dropped by. Will come back during the week when selection may be better.

Great food, clean, cheap prices and the owners are two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet…
Best Vietnamese coffee anywhere, hands down.

This place is pretty good. It’s FAST decent food. I get breakfast burritos here and they are solid 3 star burritos you can get before work that will fill you up and keep you going until lunch.
If extra you have time and money to throw around before work and want a more expensive meal then this place will disappoint you for some reason I’m sure.
This is a working person’s place or a person that can appreciate a good value and niche place when they see it.
People looking for a all around excellent experience may rate this place on the lower side of 3 stars.

This place is straight to the point, fast, simple, good food.
This is not a fancy spot with gourmet bagels and sandwiches. It is just good old simple sandwiches, salads, bagels and wraps.
I had the Thai chicken wrap, my boyfriend had a pastrami on wheat. Both tasted fresh and exactly how we expected them to taste.
Service was super fast and very friendly. Prices are very fair ranging from $ 2 for a bagel to $ 6 for a big sandwich.
We will for sure come back when we are looking for a quick lunch or breakfast.
If you want fancy or gourmet, don’t bother going here and then leaving a bad review. They are very honest about what kind of establishment they have: a humble and simple shop with fast fresh food.

Fantastic little spot, conveniently located off Broadway in beautiful Curtis Park. The Thai chicken wrap was wonderful and really hit the spot for an affordable lunch option. Friendly service and decent selection of lunch items available. Definitely want to the try salmon cream cheese in the near future!

Came here to try their Thai Chicken Salad everyone was raving about, but it was still breakfast time. So I ordered their breakfast burrito (turkey)? And also their spinach bagel because they didn’t have sesame.
I have to say… I’m in LOVE with the spinach bagel, toasted with cream cheese? Get out of here! New favorite place to go for bagels and breakfast!
Get there early though because I’m pretty sure it’s popular with the state workers that are within walking distance…

My $ 4 breakfast burrito was all potatoes. It was hot and better than McDonald’s — but not by much.

Cheese is yummy! Real grilled chicken on my teriyaki sandwich! I will be back cheap yummy and fresh! Peerless coffee is one of my faves as well! So glad I popped in here today!

Disappointed. Pulled up and almost drove away just from the dumpy look of the place. Bad signage, unappetizing food photos, unclean windows, etc. But I took another look at the reviews and decided not to judge a book by it’s cover…
First, the bagels didn’t even look appetizing. I almost walked out based on that alone but the nice lady behind the counter was so eager to take my order I couldn’t do it. So I ordered a breakfast bagel on a jalapeño bagel. Bagel was… fine. Not good. Fine. Safeway has better bagels to be honest. And the breakfast bagel comes with American cheese… gross. I ate it because I was hungry not because it was good.
This place lacks ambiance, character, cleanliness & good food. Not sure how people enjoy it. Yuck.

This place is small but great food, only has outdoor seating, but again food is great, I had a breakfast burrito with Turkey, its small size but its packed with stuff that’s fresh, onions, peppers, tomato, egg, and potatoes. the bagel is fresh, and crunchy but chewy, it’s perfect. This little place is awesome, when in the area I will be back for breakfast again.

I’ve been an employee at the DMV for most of my adult life and I remember walking past this place when they were barbequing and thinking «omg that smells DELICIOUS!!» Well their food definitely lives up to the smells it creates haha. Most of the time I’ll order a breakfast bagel with turkey. They give you a good amount of turkey and they make it super quick. The bagels are toasted but still soft inside just how I like it. Their Thai salad is DELICIOUS! I remember for about a week I was ordering this lunch and I’m NOT a salad person. A small is enough for one person and can keep me full until dinner time. Their large is really big. Like big enough for 2 – 3 people to share. I’ve tried their chilaquiles it’s really good as well. Their croissants are nice and buttery too if you ever want one of those.
The prices are good, they have tons of choices, and service is quick. If you’re ever in the area, try this place out.

Bagels in the title gives off the feeling that its JUST a bagel spot.. . but it’s SO much more than that!
Its a tiny place right next to the DMV, with covered outdoor seating and huge menu!
With everything from plain bagels to breakfast bagels to breakfast burritos to lunch time burritos to lunch time full plates of either chinese or mexican, and even tiramisu/​smoothes/​sweets.. . oh yeah and reg.“light” lunch items like sandwiches/​salads.
They are beyond reasonable with prices. The same people are always working and they are always really sweet. A handful of my co workers come here often and they remember all of us, even though we come in at different times.
Its hard for me not to come here every day, its really convenient to grab a bagel for breakfast and chicken caesar salad wrap for lunch later.
Great people. good food, & even better prices. Its homey & convenient.
Please try the handmade egg rolls– amazing!
