I hadn’t eaten here in a couple years but went here tonight after a reconnaissance run a few weeks back for a beer and reading the reviews. All I can say is that I was totally impressed and that me an my friend enjoyed everything about our meal. For starters, the place was mobbed, which is always a good sign. There was a 20 minute wait for a table but by luck we landed two seats at the bar. We had a beer while we checked out the menu. I had a Duke’s Brown Ale from Bold City Brewing which I absolutely loved. I ordered yellowtail collar — one of the specials — octopus ceviche, some tuna and salmon sashimi. My friend order broiled scallops with a garlic herb butter. The scallops came out first and were just divine — perfectly cooked, fresh and amazing. Then came the octopus ceviche which was creative, spicy and delicious. The sashimi was also fantastic, especially the salmon — some of the most buttery I’ve ever had. But the yellowtail collar was the star of the night. I’ve had this before elsewhere and this was the best ever. It was huge, fatty and incredible. I even ate the delicious crunchy skin. Along with this great food, we had a couple very good Mai Tai’s made by the excellent bar staff; Mindy and a guy whose name I didn’t catch. And all of this for under $ 90! It was great, affordable and a real treat. It is surely on my go-to list for local eats.

I would like to start off by saying that this place deserves a bit more credit. Been here several times now with the fiancé. Fish is always fresh, sushi is good, the view and setting outside is amazing. Only downside is that it is on the pricey side, and for the price and quality do not order the grits. I dont like grits myself and the ones at kingfish are tasteless and as horrendous as any. But that is just my opinion. On the other hand!!! The octopus ceviche is a delight. Alligator tail was worth a try. My favorite sushi roll is the JAGUAR roll! Hope this helps

Food was great! Visiting from NY. Waterfront dining inside or out. Entire staff was so friendly and polite especially our Waiter Cody and hostess Kaylie who tools us in 10 minutes before closing time. Highly recommend it to anyone who’s in town.

Also, had to wait forever for food(the people at the next table ordered at the same time from a different waitress, & they were halfway through with their meal before we got ours! Then forever to get bill-very frustrating experience overall!

Wow… I should have looked at the reviews before I went and had possibly the worst plate of sea food I ever had. I had the captain’s platter fried. The shrimp, oysters and scallops all tasted sour. The Mahi Mahi was dry as a piece of cardboard, everything was cold and the worst part I think that it was all placed on a wet plate since the breading was wet and mushy on the bottom side of the fish and some of the shrimp. I travel for work and eat out 5 days a week and have been to this restaurant before and it was pretty good but that was over a year ago however after that food I won’t be back. I noticed that most of the people who were in there were not eating they were only having drinks at the bar that may be the only reason that they had a crowd.

Do not get the fried calamari. It comes with a lemon aioli which was more like a tangy mayonnaise. Calamari was also supposed to come with cherry peppers, for which it did but they were diced so small and there were only like 4 on the plate. Cabbage sat beneath it. Small portion of calamari. On the plus side I ordered blackened mahi mahi with lemon caper sauce. It was very good. I hate it when restaurants mold/shape their rice. It looks cheap. The pilaf rice was molded as a perfect circle– cheap looking. Crème brûlée was very good! Prices expensive for what they give u. Lastly they play 80’s music in the restaurant & bar area which cheapens the place more. Not my fav spot. Needs updating.

Practically everything on the menu was fried. I ordered a salad and a a shrimp appetizer. The shrimp wasn’t good, very oily and no flavor. The salad was limp, old lettuce. Could have been good if it were fresh. My husband had the a blackened fish. He didn’t enjoy it or the sides. Service was great though and the location is nice. I feel bad that the wait staff have to I serve such bad food.

Nothing really out of this world… I had the sushi it was okay… The overall location was pretty nice and the waitstaff was very accommodating. I did like the views of the boats. The prices were a little on the expensive side.

Went here to eat after touring San Sebastián Winery. The view is awesome and the food was good. Typical grill food. Had a minor order mishap but they fixed it quickly. Had the special which was blackened grouper with rice and vegetables. Happened to catch happy hour and saved a few bucks on drinks. Will keep this spot in mind anytime I’m in St. Augustine. Definitely a great spot to grab a bite and enjoy a spot on the waterfront. They also had these large lawn chairs on a lawn overlooking the marina. Looks like a nice spot to get a bottle of wine and enjoy the evening. Overall a solid restaurant!

Have a gluten free menu with delicious options — for entrees they either broil it or sauté it in a separate pan. They were very familiar with food allergies and take them seriously. Server knew a ton about the ingredients(people typically don’t know what autolyzed yeast extract is) and made sure everything we had was 100% gluten AND corn free. Good happy hour prices too!

Stopped here for dinner on a Saturday night and it was pretty good. We ordered gator tails for an appetizer, it was $ 12 for a relatively small portion but they were good. My husband got the Mahi Mahi($ 24) and enjoyed it. I got the country boil($ 29) the mussels and scallops were kind of bland but the crab and shrimp were reeeally good. Overall it was pretty good but a bit over priced in my opinion.

It was good. I tried the gator tail and oysters. Little sand in the oysters nothing out of the ordinary. But everyone seemed to enjoy their entrees. Wanted to sit outside but there wasn’t a shelter over the big family table.

Looking for waterfront dining we found this restaurant. first impression as we walked in was it is out dated and dirty. Food was pricy, $ 22 for fried shrimp platter. Shrimp was good, coleslaw was old and had no taste, and the fries were good. Gator tail was okay, but you don’t get much for $ 12. I would think the servers would be in a better uniform than just tshirt and shorts. Maybe my expectation was too high, but for this price I would have rather gone down the road to Caps. Check Caps out before here if your going to this side of town.

Had lunch on the water after a long drive. Had blacked fish tacos with fries and slaw. The plate were presentable. until I opened up the taco to add the lettuce and tomato that was on the side. Where was the fish? So very little! The tartar sauce on the side(thankfully) tasted like mayonnaise with a touch of a pickle chip. The coleslaw was like minced coleslaw with no flavor. We ordered vodka/cranberry. I would be surprised if there was any vodka in the drink. $ 42 for 4 barely there fish tacos with 2 cocktails was pricey!

Another great meal at Kingfish Grill. We started off with the beer cheese soup special. Hubby said«I could eat a vat of that.» I ordered the kingfish country boil. It was excellent! The shrimp and mussels were not over cooked. The surprising delight was the piece of cornbread that came with it. Wow! That was some of the best cornbread I have ever eaten. Hubby ordered the blackened scallops to which he said they were very good. I really enjoying their custom martinis. I tried the Kingtini and the Suntini and enjoyed both immensely. You cannot go wrong eating here. 5÷22÷15 — Another great experience tonight! I ordered the swordfish special and it was the best swordfish I’ve had in a long time! Perfectly cooked! Mmmmm!

I called this restaurant and kindley asked if they accepted reservations. The man who answered the phone was extremely friendly and told me even though he didn’t do reservations on a weekday, but he would reserve a round table by the window for a party of 6 for us. I gave him the name and that was that. However, when we arrived to this restraunt we unfortunately unwelcomed by a hostess who is extremely rude. To be honest, she should not work in the hospitality business, and especially not welcoming guests. She basically told us «we don’t reserve specific tables for people». I don’t think we would have lied about a round table waterfront, especially when there was one. Being called a liar is not a good look when you are a customer. The waiter was not personable at all either. I would not recommend this to family or friends. The food was ok, but service was poor.

This is a neighborhood place for me, but I stopped going here because the quality declined. But the quality is back! They have a great fry cook now, a great sushi chef, and in fact the basic kitchen is excellent. Recommended once again. It’s a wonderful location, a happy place, and now the food is back to the same level.

I’m giving them an extra star because they’re just so darn nice. The food is really 3-star. The bread that came while we were waiting was very nice, with a garlic butter glaze on the crust. I ordered the crab, shrimp, and scallop Florentine. It was well cooked and the sauce was nice, but there wasn’t enough sauce, there were too many breadcrumbs, and it was more than half shrimp. It came with squash which had too much pepper, potatoes with honey glaze, which sounded nice but missed the mark, and garlic bread, which was burnt. The crème brûlée was cool, which is a small minus, as it really should be warm, but the flavor was excellent. I would come again if I was in the marina next door with no car, because the food wasn’t bad, but otherwise, I’d probably try another restaurant.

I was hesitant to eat here based on the other reviews, but a group of friends wanted to eat an early dinner before going on the sunset cruise. It couldn’t hurt, right? We got there around 4pm and it was pretty dead aside from a group sitting outside in the patio area and another smaller group inside. We made our way to the table and we had a great view of the marina with all the expensive yachts. Wow. This place has mostly seafood but there were other options for our friends who can’t eat seafood. Our server Jon was super attentive and took care of all our needs. I started off my meal with the Vilano Sunrise, a mango margarita with strawberry purée. Fabulous! The appetizer I choose was the Thai Vegetable Spring Rolls, which weren’t what I thought they would be. I thought they would«look» like spring rolls but instead they were like fat egg rolls and too greasy. The veggies in it were fresh and crisp though. A friend ordered the Spicy Crab Nachos and those were good. The crab was shredded and the chips were handmade, deep fried chips. For an entrée, I had the seared Ahi Tuna with rice and broccoli which was just good, nothing amazing. My other friends agreed their entrees were good. For dessert I couldn’t resist their special, Warm Cranberry Bread Pudding. This was probably the best thing I had. The bread pudding was so moist and delicious but it could’ve done without the whipped cream. Needless to say I was full after this and ready to go cruising. Should we ever be in the neighborhood again, we will be back.

Great tasty seafood with a menu full of options. I sat outside so the scenery was beautiful and the live music kept me entertained. Very nice casual atmosphere. There is a nice sea breeze to keep you cool too! I would’ve rated 4 stars but the service was pretty slow, even before if got busy. I think it was just the waiter I had though.

The Best fresh fish on the Water.
