Steak N Shake

Waited 15m at the «Please wait to be Seated» sign before even acknowledged or welcomed. There were lots of empty tables, just horribly understaffed. Felt sorry for the servers running around hopelessly behind. It was not even peak hours… Eventually seated, Food and Shakes still good, but in summary; over time the service has just gotten really bad. Sad to say… we wont be back here much with our family anymore :(

I have gone to this particular Steak n Shake nearly every weekend with my friends, and we are greeted every time with warm smiles and get compliments on our haircuts. The food we order is nothing but exquisite, and it keeps us coming back for more, especially after vigorous mental work at the ACT. However that is not the only thing that can be found at Amanda Steak n Shake. Through exploration with your tastebuds and behind Stan Kroenke’s hideout can be found a magical area full of wonders, which one can only truly experience after eating at this particular Steak n Shake and singing Cats in the Cradle. Meeting countless friends in the parking lot and making them laugh is the icing on the cake, or rather mustard on the burger. My life has been changed and I still have yet to find out the secrets of it all and why we were chosen on the whimsical road that is Jungermann. Wishing and hoping the hermit will whisper, «shbarby» to us one last time…

Update we went back to this steak and shake the next weekend. Instead of serving us our food in a timely manner the person taking our order repeatedly asked «what you mean» and «wait what?». Not only is this a worse experience then getting an enema but at least that would be healthy. This steak and shake is the epitome of mediocrity and just try’s its best to uphold the whole «hey f it, at least were not mcdonalds». Next week instead of going here ill just have my friends kick me in the ballz, at least thats fast and free.

We always just get burgers and fries and it is pretty good. The milkshakes are the best part though. The only down side to many steak n shakes is that it always takes forever no matter if you go through drive through or walk in. We have sat in drive through for at least 30 minutes before.

This very well could be the worst steak n shake in all of st charles county. They have messed up my order the last 4 times I’ve been here. If you ask for only pickles, ketchup and mayo on your burger you will get everything EXCEPT pickles, ketchup and mayo. They will never understand your order the first time you give it to them. It doesn’t matter how clearly you speak; there will always be a long pause followed by «uhhh can you repeat that.» The incompatence at this place is so mind blowing that you almost think it’s a joke the employees are playing on you. AVOID THIS STEAK N SHAKE AT ALL COSTS!

My co-​worker in St Louis has a tremendous love for Steak and Shake, so I almost always end up in one when I’m visiting STL. This location is better than most.
First, it was extremely clean — no sticky tables or menus. Even the restrooms were clean, which has most definitely not been the case at other locations.
Second, the staff was efficient and very pleasant.
The food? Well, it’s Steak and Shake — so not great, IMO but a lot of people really like it. If you are one of those people, this is a good location to stop at.

TWO STARS (Because I’m feeling nice)
My last visit to Steak and Shake was very poor. I sat in the drive through for probably 30 minutes just waiting to order and I was second in line! When I got up to the speaker to order I was then asked to hold again for another 5 minutes. At no point in time did I get an apologize for the slow service. The only reason I went to Steak and Shake was to get my husband lunch and at that point I did not order myself any food.
I am not the type of person to call and complain but with the slow service I received I called the 800 number to voice my concern. The only reason I’m giving two stars vs one is because I got a call from the manager at the store apologizing and sent us a $ 20 gift card which earned them a star. I will not be returning unless my husband asks nicely to get him something from there :-)

I have been to this location on more than one occasion. Service was terrible. Had a waitress with a serious attitude, and for no particular reason. After having poor service, the manager took care of our bill and I promptly made the decision never to go back. Staff was not attentive and quality of the food was inconsistent at best. Portions have gotten smaller, and the prices are going up.
Overall, not worth it in any respect. Visit another place to eat. You wont be sorry you missed this place.

Pretty solid Steak and Shake. The staff was really kind and friendly. They must have watched Mr. Rogers growing up or something.

Steak n Shake. Open 24 — 7. Always good food and service.
This location always seems busy. Drive thru a good choice if you are too busy to sit down.
