Love, Love, Love Tucanos. Any time I’m in the area, we go here. It can be a little pricey on the weekends(full price at lunch) but you will not leave dissatisfied. The gauchos that walk around are incredibly friendly, and they just keep coming, and coming, and coming. Great salad and sides bar, but let’s be honest, you’re here for a meat mecca. Took one star off because of no filet mignon options(even for an upcharge). Give this place a shot! You won’t regret it.

First of all, I will say I was hesistant to go to Tucanos. A few friends said since my wife, son, and I went with friends to Fogo De Chao’s in Kansas City, I would not like the supposed lower grade food at Tucanos. We went to celebrate a friends birthday, four of us. Reservations for 4 at 7pm. We were immediately seated, while a group of about 30 people were on the waiting list. The salad bar was fabulous, peel and eat shrimp, lobster bisque, all different kinds of salads, mushrooms, olives, sushi, on and on. The food and service were absolutely fabulous. So many times the meat server asked what else we wanted. Within a couple minutes the food was there from the beef tenderloin, top sirloin, mango fish, turkey, chicken. It was one of my most enjoyable experiences at a restaurant in a long time. I talked to the manager and let him know how much we loved the food. Ok, so you don’t get Rib Eye or Filet Mignon, like at Fogo’s, but when we went to Fogo’s the service was bad, took forever to get our food. The manager said he could charge us $ 50 like Fogo’s and we all laughed. We will definitely be back soon with our family and friends. 5BIGSTARS for us Tucano’s!

I cannot say enough good things about Tuscano’s Grill. It is BEYOND beyond. It’s got a light, open floor plan that tricks you into thinking it’s a family restaurant. There’s a beautiful buffet of vegetables and fruits, where amateurs graze on delightful fresh delicacies. And waiters will repeatedly ask you if you are SURE someone has explained how everything works. *I* will properly explain. Heaven is a Brazilian restaurant. Gorgeous men in tight pants come to your table every few minutes, bearing rods of flash fried meats. Thick, rich, savory delights, each and every one — and the meat is good too. Fish, chicken, brisket, steak, sirloin, hams, chops, sausages, medallions, meatballs. .. You have to remind yourself that you can turn the indicator to red, and simply eat what is in front of you. They won’t run out. You can say no now, and yes later. They make a lemonade that’s practically worth the price of the whole meal, and they’ll let you try it in all seven fruit flavors. And if you’re really careful and save room, the alcoholic beverages are generous and sweet. The idea that you’ll say no to dessert sort of evaporates when they show you the Death By Chocolate and the Brazilian flan, so plan to stick around for a very very long meal. It’s elegant and experience and entertainment and eye candy. It’s really the absolute best meal in its price range, and I will personally recommend it to everyone I know. (Except vegetarians. My niece the vegan ate a banana and flirted with the waitstaff. I think she can skip it next time.)

Service was great, food was delicious and plentiful. My only complaint is that the restaurant is so loud, it’s hard to have a conversation without talking very loud. We will definitely be back though.

Pros: Good salad bar Clean restaurant Cons: Service below average, tough to flag down a waiter for drinks… don’t they want to sell drinks? Meat servers… few and far between, plan on getting full on salad bar items while waiting for tiny servings of meat. Basically it’s not awful, everyone understands that they want you to fill up on cheap carbs and not the meat. Just overpriced considering the lack of meat… $ 23 for a salad bar with a few slivers of meat is a bit steep. (Might have not noticed if I could have found my waiter and gotten some more alcohol in me)

Brazilian steakhouses are awesome! If you’ve never been to one, absolutely check it out! Especially if you’re a meat lover! The salad bar is quite large! I enjoyed all the fresh fruit, the mozzarella, tomato salad and coleslaw the most. Hubby really loved the mango crab sushi and fried banana! We turned up our little wooden peg to the green side as soon as we sat down because we were ready for them to bring on the meat! Our favorites were definitely anything wrapped in bacon. But the Parmesan chicken, brisket and sweet and sour chicken were great, too!

Having only eaten at a Brazilian Steakhouse while in Mexico, I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this restaurant is. The salad bar is just a slice of heaven! Then came the meat. And more meat and more meat! Loved the mango white fish! Definitely one of my favs! I highly recommend the mango pineapple margarita that’s served in the pineapple! 5 stars for sure! We will definitely be back!

Now if you’re craving Brazilian AYCE, then Tucanos will probably be your only choice in the STL area. It’s a little bit of a drive to St. Charles, but if you’re craving it, you gotta have it. Unfortunately there is no Texas de Brazil or Fogo de Chao in STL. I’m pretty sure if either of those places opened up, Tucanos would be hurting. In any case, Tucanos does a decent job of your typical«Green means go» and the meat does come to the table. However, the good stuff is few and far between. You’ll likely only get the Picanha once or twice if you’re lucky. The Picalho is decent and you’ll likely be able to grab this one more often. But typically, the chicken and pork is what is coming around. Interestly enough, there is also a grilled pineapple that is served. This was actually one of the plusses as the pineapple was sweet and not burned. There’s also your typical salad bar and it really isn’t too shabby. There’s a lot of options and basically you’ll find what you would expect at a Brazilian salad bar. Overall, if you’re feeling the craving, Tucanos is your best bet for Brazilian AYCEBBQ.

My roommate wanted to surprise me and take me here for my birthday today. He made reservations nine hours ahead for 8pm. We show up ten minutes early and are told it’s a bit behind and it will be about 8:10. That’s fine. Things happen. The wait time for walk ins was over two hours. Another group of about 8 had reservations at 8:30 and their reservation was lost some how, this is relevant I’ll come back to it. So now it’s 8:30 and our buzzer still hasn’t went off and we walk in to ask what’s going on. The hostess tells us we should give them a moment. We had reservations at 8 and we’ve given them 30minutes of moments. I know I said they were busy but when they walk us to a table there are about 6 or 7 empty tables ready for seating so what were we waiting for? Back to the other group. They were seated right after us and they seemed to be having a more formal occasion and the manager took the time to talk with them I’m guessing to apologize about the situation. When he stopped by our table to see how things were going we mentioned how it didn’t start off too well but he basically acted like that was a shame and went on his way. The food and service and our server were all very pleasant and the food was good as well as the salad bar. Although we found it a bit tacky that the server want out of his way to circle the top amounts on the receipt. Its good that it’s on there but you don’t have to circle it. We plan to tip well for good service. When we left my roommate waited to talk to the manager who was on his phone for a few minutes and when he was done he ignored him and walked away like he hadn’t been standing there next to him waiting. He wasn’t expecting anything free or a meal on them just a bit of respect and just an apology and a hand shake, which by itself means a lot, but he just said it was busy and somtimes these things happen.

Soooo… I write this review based on my experience of other Brazilian steakhouse in the same price range. so the atmosphere is really vibrant and very very very loud it seemed like every 5 minutes there was another birthday(they sing) the dinner price gets you access to salad bar island and of course the various meats, salad bar had great choices as well as some Brazilian classics: fried bananas and cheese bread. The meat is really where Tucanos loses a star, some one the meat was over done, a lot of the beef was tough and the other things like chicken and fish were a little bland, although the meat serving garçons were excellent, really friendly, picked out the cuts we asked for, so that I will say was really nice but the food was fairly average I will say the grilled pineapple is the crème de la crème of this place, eat a much of that as possible. The Brazilian lemonade was pretty good, pretty strong flavor, all in all, kind of expensive for the quality but worth a try.

Came in New Years day for a later dinner and was very surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Didn’t care for all the meat selections, but most were good. If you like your meat cooked specifically, they’ll cater to that. Service overall was great. Only complaint would be the buffet bar was lacking in cleanliness and up keep of people being animals. Also, the Lobster Bisque wasn’t very good. If you’re not a carnivore, probably not the place for you.

I’ve been here a few times and although the meat is amazing and the salad bar is great my experiences has been lackluster. My 2nd time coming here my bf made reservations for Mother’s Day and when we arrived we still had to wait over an hour to be seated. This past Saturday I sat and ordered weak, poorly made drinks. Customer service is not a priority here and they won’t get my business again.

Let me start off by saying that every year for the past 3 years I have went to Tucanos for my birthday dinner, the food was excellent each time. We always have a large group of over 15 and generally they are pretty accommodating but this past time our reservations were set for 7 and we didn’t get seated until 7:50 which kind of sucked considering some of our party had a volleyball game at 9, but beyond that I have never had a negative word to say about Tucanos. The restaurant has a «churrasco» style meaning they come around with grilled meats and seafood dishes and slice them onto your plate. It is all-you-can-eat which is good with my group of friends because most of us are big eaters. All the beef, pork, chicken and fish are extremely flavorful. A couple of my favorites include the mango fish(fried fish in a sweet mango sauce) and Parmesan chicken(grilled chicken with a light Parmesan coating). Tucanos salad bar is the best I’ve ever seen though. They include fried bananas, mango-crab sushi and delicious breads on the bar. One of my friends bought me a «Brazilian Sunrise» which is «mango, passion fruit, grenadine & lemon-lime». It was pretty sweet for my taste but I shared it with everybody and everybody seemed to like it. The service is always good and they will bring you what you want if you ask. It would have been an easy 5 stars if it wasn’t for the 50 minute seating delay the last time I went but overall I highly recommend Tucanos.

Let me just start saying this is not a traditional Brazilian barbecue. Because of the ambience and service, I am giving two stars, but everything else felt thru the cracks! To say that this is a traditional Brazilian cuisine is a joke! The food is cooked with at least a pound of sugar. Everything on the menu is sweet. The farofa is not made with yucca flower, but instead made with stuffings. The beans looks and taste horrible. The meat was chewy. I do not recommend this place what so ever!

Went there on Saturday. Endless meat and great service. BUT… this place suffers from fly infestation. The food we got from the salad bar attracted a fly and the abominable pest had been haunting us for the next 45 minutes until we left. The fly hovered over our food and kept trying to land on our meal. We waved it away multiple times but this persistent little creature just wouldn’t give up any opportunity to share the plates with us. I finally surrendered to it and decided to let the fly make entrance. The dignified and graceful fly landed on the stage of my check folder and crawled up on my fork. Then with skill and dexterity, it cheerfully flew to my raspberry cheesecake, started slurping the whipped cream and laying parasite worm eggs in the sweet cradle of my cheesecake. More than just a paltry nuisance, flies are a symptom of a greater problem inside a restaurant and reflection of poor management as well. They eat poop and garbage and lay eggs in the food coming out of the kitchen. Food was really good at this place but please terminate these bacteria transmitters.

This place is every bit as amazing as they say it is! You have to starve yourself for at least the day the fully appreciate Tucanos. I haven’t read the other reviews yet, so the down and dirty is $ 60 for 2 people, with soda/lemonade. I’m not sure how their alcoholic drinks price, but to me they should be free for the price! I kid I kid… This is not the kind of place that you spend a lot of time at the salad bar, you think you want to, but stop it! Save room for the meat that comes to you at the table. And if you like lemonade at all, you will love their fresh fruit lemonades with several different options like mango, guava and strawberry. Save Tucanos for a special event, time-wise and price-wise. 4 of us were there for 2 hours and we had had a reservation. I have heard that if you sign up for emails that you get a free birthday dinner, we will definitely be doing that.
