Fantastic baked items served up by equally fantastic folks. The outdoor oven is going to let them create some new items, like the fresh loaf of ciabatta which we picked up today. Tip: They always offer great samples. And their medium roast coffee is excellent.

First time visit and we tried some of the hundred percent whole wheat small loaf which was good with the sunflower seeds. Also had a sample of the chili bread which was also great with cheese I’m looking forward to trying the coffee next. The owner was very helpful and enthusiastic and explaining the details of his business stop on by and try them.

Johnny Bartsch from nearby Buena Vista. All the breads we tried were great! We had the two varieties of 100% whole grain bread. I’m a bread guy and thought they were as good as it gets! Go here. It’s great. This place recently opened in new digs with great food. Ask about the«Savory, Grab and Go» of the day! If you want to get something with some protein(meat or veggie) that’s ready to go right away before you ski/bike/raft this is the place to do it! Seriously good grub. Also, the fresh bread is great to make sandwiches or just eat with butter!

I’d give 10 stars for the fact they were open early on a snowy day after thanksgiving. The coffee alone saved the day, but they also had a bunch of hot and fresh breads and pastries baked up! Salida has been enjoying Little Red Hen’s awesome baked goods for several years. But, now they have their own space. With that brings a larger selection of breads. They also have added some sweet and savory breakfast items. And coffee! Really good coffee, actually. The new space has a few tables for dining in. And they have great hours! A really awesome bakery. Stop in and check them out!

NEWLOCATION(3rd and G). As always, delicious! Now open at 6AM with a new«Hen Blend» dark roast coffee(also local). Watch for their new expanded menu coming soon. Their bread and pastries are always perfect — the Little Red Hen is our family favorite.
