I popped in for some breakfast and a cup of joe on the last day of our NYE trip in Salida. It was just what we needed — cozy and welcoming little shop offering everything you need to get your day started on the right note! They even serve Boulder Ice Cream and fresh fruit smoothies! We went ahead and ordered the chorizo and veggie burritos along with some coffee. The burritos were made in advanced and heated up after you order. They were very tasty and just the right amount of food leaving you satisfied without feeling stuffed. The coffee was pretty good as well! My boyfriend had the raspberry muffin which was delightful! Overall, this coffee shop is just like all the businesses in Salida that we visited — offering excellent service and hight quality goods! That’s why it’s been our favorite place to visit in Colorado!

Not sure where all the venom is coming from. This is a cute, comfortable, basic coffee shop with a few snacks, all the expected drinks, and Boulder ice cream. — Free wifi — Helpful and friendly employees — Decent space, you can probably find a place to chill for a while — Downtown, great location

Over our weekend in Salida we stopped in twice and found The Brown Dog Coffee Company to serve our wants and needs perfectly well. I have to say, I am not a fan of this décor. Its kind of brown with sort of inspirational quotes and words all over. Done with this already. My iced cappucino was great yesterday and we got a yummy piece of breakfast cake with cranberries in it. I like that this place bakes from scratch. So few places no that anymore. The Boulder ice cream was just okay. Service was great both times!

@BrownDog_Coffee Signs of ‘dream’ and ‘hope’ in the bathroom made me chortle out loud. Oh I dreamt. I tried the iced Americano at the Buena Vista location and here. The large seemed medium. The chorizo breakfast burrito was pricy and small. It did not satisfy my morning breakfast appetite. One of the cooks/baristas was very abrupt and loud, almost seemingly talking down to customers who asked her the most simple of questions. I could hear irritants in her voice. I will not return to this location unless I am desperate for coffee. I was not impressed. Still, I recommend at least giving it a try to support local businesses. You’ll be glad you did. Hopefully. This location was vastly different than the Buena Vista location.

What a charming and funky place. Outstanding service and atmosphere. Good selection of drinks and ice cream. Very personal service by the two delilghtful people working there this afternoon. See photos below. Amazing bargain on small portions of ice cream, and you can have two different flavors in the cup. Will try their all day breakfast items some day soon. Don’t worry if you can’t find a nearby parking spot. Take your time here in Salida, the best kept secret in Colorado. UPDATED two morning later. Four of us had free-form breakfasts here. Croissants were average, as was the veggie burrito. Coffee ratings ranged from good to not very good. Best things were excellent berry smoothie and dog-friendly antique tables/chairs in front.
