Great sandwiches, great service, and the best deal in town! This locally owned independent business is a local favorite. Go twice and they will remember you order on your second visit!

I work downtown a few blocks away so come here 2 – 3 times a month for lunch. Good sandwiches, fruit cups are fresh. They also carry bananas but tend to buy too many at once so I only get one when it’s ripe but before it gets spotted. The basic doughnuts are good — nothing to get excited about. It isn’t Red’s an it can’t compete w/Kristy’s Donuts on the east side either. Still the apple turnover is very flaky. Wish they still made cherry ones too. Not tons of filling but satisfying. The family that runs the place are always pleasant and the service to make a sandwich super quick. I have had my sandwich on bagels, croissants, or bread — all good options. The tables are like old school desks with attached seats so sometimes eat in but often just grab & go back to the break room at my ofc. Some strange characters come in as is typical for a place near the MST bus station(not sure what will happen with Greyhound moving over to be closer to the Amtrak spot) and a good mix of working people — construction workers, attorneys, local business folks, government employees — city, county, postal service. Everyone goes here sooner or later if you’re working near Oldtown or else someone in your office will show up with donuts from this place. Way better than Star*yucks, in my opinion — let’s keep the money local. Parking probably is a pain(I walk there) but early AM you can find a spot across from the door before the other shops open. Stop by and get a dozen to go.

Omg! I usually don’t write reviews on Unilocal, but this is by far the best croissant I had in a while. They use REAL jalapeño not the typical nachos jalapeño which gave it a better taste. And the coffee that they have is hazelnut coffee which made my morning happy and satisfying. I am coming here every morning till I’m done with my gig. #HappyBelly

I’ve lived in salinas since 7 years old 26 years later and i just discovered this place(all because i thought it was too dangerous to stop by). Great donuts BUT delicious fresh sandwiches. The owner Emily is awesome, she has awesome human and humble qualities. You think a homeless is up to no good when they come in and she is nice enough to give them something to eat. Don’t be afraid to stop by and be scared by the near by empty shops, her donut shop is like a mini food Disneyland LOTS of snacks to choose from… even milkshakes/smoothies. Sad i didn’t give the place a chance in past… Their veggie sandwiches are my favorite. Two things to take in consideration; One, Parking may be a problem… try to park in downtown by the antique shop or by Gabilan street or i park in front taxi lane… taxi service no longer being used much since Greyhound has is temporarily relocated to Amtrak station. Two, theres no public restrooms and it may seem not a clean place but the owner does keep thing tidy inside eating area, just hasn’t renovated place but heard she might relocate next year so we might see a different updated restaurant.

I would love to give this place 5 stars, but… The donuts here are good. That being said, the owners frequently try to charge higher prices than what is listed on the menu. If you are not careful, you will end up paying more than the advertised price. On two separate occasions I have left the store only to see I was charged more than I should have been. When I go back, the lady behind the counter(owner?) grins sheepishly, makes an excuse, and tries to give me store credit. Don’t go here. Definitely not worth getting ripped off.

I work at City Hall, just a block away, and it’s DANGEROUS!!! The sandwiches are absolutely the BEST! The tuna is my favorite, sometimes I get one for an early lunch and go back the same day for another. I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a delicious, budget-friendly sandwich.

Located in the same building as the Greyhound Bus Terminal, this is the place to go for fast, inexpensive sandwiches that taste great! They have a huge variety of to choose from, on croisant, bagel, roll, wheat, white or rye bread. I usally get the salami or BLT, but they are all tasty and fresh ingredients. And yes, they have donuts and drinks — they also make excellent breakfast sandwiches. Good place to go if you are on Jury Duty ;~) The ambiance is a bit lacking, but totally made up for by the owners and staff who are wonderful and sometimes will gift a few donut holes on the house for dessert!

This place is called Salinas Donuts, but I rarely eat their donuts. It really should be Salinas Sandwiches and Donuts, because they do a big lunchtime business. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s good, consistent, reasonably priced fare. Most sandwiches are in the $ 3.50 to $ 4 range. They also have fried egg rolls, chicken wings, and for the more health conscious, bagels and fruit cups. What really makes this place stand out, is the staff. They have the nicest employees! I am always greeted with a smile, and prompt, quick, service. You’ll feel good going in, and also know that you’re getting value for your $$. With City Hall, the Bus Station and lots of offices in the area, they have quite a few regulars. Try it, and you’ll become a regular, too!

Convenient Low-Key Shop serves breakfast & lunch! Next to the dumpy Greyhound Bus station, this shop serves donuts and basic sandwiches at reasonable prices. Very low key, like a fast food chain(Plastic Chairs, etcetera). Coffee, sandwiches, donuts… they feed the hungry.
