A bunch of friends ran over after seeing the beer prices at the Living Traditions Fest We had a good time. Great little place to escape to while attending the Downtown Festivals.

10 dollar card limit… Not a fan. It’s 2016, everyone uses card. Why is there a limit

Came here late Thursday. Dark hot and small. I stumbled upon a portal to a hipster animal kingdom. If you go here the dress code is black. I didn’t order, so this doesn’t count.

Met up here with a number of people I had never met before in my life. This was a meetup spot for my girlfriends 25th high school reunion the next day. Narrow place, still not cramped inside. All of the staff were friendly and with their regulars they seemed quite happy to see them. I placed a drink order for a few of us and asked for a soda for myself. I was told as I was the driver, mine was on the house. We grabbed a center table and whilst carrying on throughout the night the DJ kept the music going and the folks that worked there kept clearing away the empties. Nice bar, well decorated and friendly folks inside. Only downside that night was a temporary air conditioning problem. :(

A very dark, very cool little bar with a great beer selection. It’s a nice spot for a relaxed night of drinking.

Sunyin is THE best, she is the sweetest gal hands down — inside & outside of her business. Kid you not, she’s good people and that reflects in her staff & business. Love her and what she stands for! Greatest gal evaaaa

Jackalope is fun — get drunk fast and have some cheap fireball shots.

This place is your average hipster bar. It’s a young crowd but everyone is pretty nice & we were able to walk in on a busy night & get a table fast. They do require a $ 10 minimum if you are going to use a credit/debit card which us understandable considering that they mostly sell Miller High Life for two bucks. The location is one of the best for a bar in SLC. Next to plenty of cheap late night restaurants and other bars.

Busy as fuck. not even fun. if you’re an overly-dramatic 20-something, you may like this place. loud, obnoxious, ugh… just not my style.

Never been the type of person to grab all the nearest people to me in a party at 10:45 on a Friday evening and spend what remains of my paycheck(after the amount of alcohol I spent buying for said party), and taking over the nearest or «personal kick at the moment» bar. Which is what Jackalope Lounge, even when emptey, seems to always end up being. I love the rustic, southern California feel with the skate decks littering the walls, and the drink prices aren’t expensive enough to rant about, but for me a bar is more about the people, and I just never can stay till last call. I usually cram myself, and my(and seemingly only) cocktail glass into the only available seat a mist the people, and wait for whom ever I’m with to get tired, to drunk to stay, or see that I’m fighting the urge to leave without them. I will admit that like many, The Jackalope is a product of it’s surroundings, with the Shred Shed within an audible distance, and TRAX stopping moments away filled with drunk Ute’s fans who spilled over from the Green Pig, but the Jackalope only continues the judgement with dreadful hip-hop and then all the people you were avoiding so carefully have now made the already inadequate space into an inappropriate dance club. In my opinion, if you want a good dive with good people, make the extra 4 block drive to The Woodshed, or just go to the Green Pig so you can justify to your date that you don’t know what color their wearing because Kobe is on fire.

I absolutely love e staff and atmosphere here at the Jackalope Lounge. There’s something about the grungy yet clean set up that appeals to me. With a variety of drinks and the best bartenders around ready to whip you up something new as well, it’s definitely an experience rather then just another hole in the wall. Whether your drowning your sorrows or toasting your victories I highly HIGhLY recommend this lounge. Drinks are cheap but the service is far from. My go to lounge for a great time!

I like Jackalope when it’s empty. When it’s not, it’s full of snowbro wannabes and their 21 year old female hangers-on. To some people, that might sound like fun. But it’s not. Blaring modern(read: terrible) hip-hop music makes conversations impossible. Drinks are cheap though, which is why I still find myself here on random weekday evenings. For about an hour.

Never had a bad experience here. Owner is super sweet and just gets it. Hence great specials, perfect location, amazing DJs, super cheap drinks, and good selection of drinks. Gets very crowded on the weekends, but who can blame them, they’re doing an awesome job. Great local DJs all the time, and you can always count on having a good time. Week nights are so laid back and personable, except when you accidentally(but luckily) catch DJ Matty Mo or Grimblee packing the place full with a great crowd of fans. Anyhow, great atmosphere… super friendly people… good times awaiting… cheap drinks… and beautiful women. A must hit up bar in SLC.

As long as it ain’t crowded, this is one of my go to watering holes. Cheap beer and shots, great bartenders and just divey enough for my bastardish taste. If they had somewhere to smoke rather than out front getting riddled by coinmongers, I’d be there more often.

Jackalope is a’ight for a dive bar. I’m from Seattle, one of the hipster-iest places on earth, so I’ve been in my fair share of dive bars. This one is ok, lots of guys wearing plaid(ya know straight guys that either pretend not to or legitimately don’t realize they’re all dressed exactly alike), yeah lots and lots of flannel, it was laughable. The girls here though aren’t particularly hipster, just that«I hear punk is cool so I’m going to try to like, dress like that?» types. It’s hard to judge drinks in Utah since they’re all the same but they had good specials!

I have had some spectacular times at Jackalope. The crowd seems to change all the time. Some days, you’ll get snow bros. Other days, you’ll have hipsters. And they’re never short on tattooed folk. It gets a little packed on the weekends but the regulars seem to show up on the week days. A tiny dive bar nestled within a few fun spots: a tattoo shop, sushi, and hello Pie Hole! You can’t beat their drink«specials,» which are not special, they’re just for real. When I was there before Beer Fest, they had $ 2 Jim Beam, $ 3 Jäger, $ 1 High Life beer and $ 3 Shock Top beer. What a steal.

Ladies ladies ladies. If someone takes you to this bar on a date, run. Don’t get me wrong, the bar is ok but not a for a date. The bar is more of a tattoo and hipster bar. The hard liquor drinks are cheap and the beer is flowing. I think this is one of the few bars in SLC with a great deal of character. On the weekends they have a DJ and it is not that far from the Pie Hole. This is a bar you definitely need to visit in Salt Lake City.

Go here on an evening during the weekend and it will be hopping with people. Dive-bar all the way. I love going to a place that really feels like the party has started. This bar is that place. It can sometimes feel too full of people — which is not a bad problem for a place to have, but can feel claustrophobic if you are not ready for it. Large variety of beers!

If you’re looking to have a shit-yah time with the coolest peeps in Salt Lake… hit up the Jackalope Lounge! Once owned and created by Tattoo artists from Lost Art Tattoo(also, a top recommend in Salt Lake), this bar is covered in sick art work, skateboards, and Jackalopes. Pinball, foosball, pool and cheap drinks are only a few of the draws to this friendly lil’ spot we like to call home. In fact, I probably spend more time there than home, as do about 400r 50 of my closest friends. Everyday: $ 3 Jäger and $ 2 Jim Beam, as well as a $ 2 beer special!!! DOYOUKNOWWHATTHISMEANSPEOPLE???= a shot and a beer for $ 5! That is seriously amazing!!!(Especially since I just got back from New York, and holy mutha, the bank account is going to need some recovery time). If you love life, you will dig this joint. Never a dull moment and always a good time!

Stopped by here on a whim late one Saturday night. I’d been past plenty of times during the afternoon due to it’s proximity to the City Library. From the outside on a late Saturday afternoon it seems like a rough place to go. It’s right next to the«Heavy Metal Shop» and a Tattoo parlor so go figure. It looks like a dark«dive bar» atmosphere, nearly everybody going in and out seemed to have extensive tattoos, heavy metal hoodies, or mowhawks. Music-wise these are my people and are all basically the group of friends I’ve hung out with since I was out of High School. But at the bar when alcohol is involved I’d rather not be involved in a bar fight with people who wear plenty of studded clothes that can be used as weapons, I’m looking to relax and enjoy a drink. Ironically(and having grown up with guys like these I should have known) this place is a great pub to hang out and have a beer with open minded people. Being that it get’s a bit less traffic some of the larger more popular bars it’s not packed, you don’t have to wait to get a drink, and as a result everybody is alot less likely to go aggro for no reason. The inside is not too large, there are a few booths and a few tables. There is plenty of bar space and the bartenders keep up on the customer really well. There is a huge selection of bottled beer and decent beers on tap. Saturday had a DJ there playing music which seemed odd in a bar this size but was nice for some variety. The crowd is mainly twenty-somethings and not the jock-tocracy like you see at Sandbar, but older people like myself won’t feel too out of place. Especially since we were rocking it old school while these kids were in elementary school listening to Hanson. I had it pegged as one of the more dangerous bars(relatively speaking) but this is actually a good relaxed place place for the crew that doesn’t spend hours writing poetry in a coffee shop.
