For a liquor store, they have a pretty solid selection of wine, but the majority is hard liquor. Beer has better selection elsewhere. This is one of the newer stores and consequently also one of the nicer ones. Getting there is kind of a pain, though, unless you’re already going East on North Temple and this may not be a store to chance if there’s an event around the Fairgrounds.

As a visitor to these lands, and after some internet research on Utah Liquor laws, I headed to the State Liquor Store. I was apprehensive of what I might experience once I crossed the threshold, but was pleasantly surprised to find a happy group of people working with a smattering of customers.
The selection is not very impressive, but sufficient. I ended up getting a local beer from the Wasatch Brewing Company. Happy to have my purchase in the hotel fridge and pleased there are options for people from out of town.
