Prior to going in, I called and spoke to the captain who said that they provide ink fingerprints upon request, otherwise they do electronic. I told him I would be coming in and need two cards of each. He pleasantly conversed with me and said he would let the person doing fingerprints know that I would be coming in, so expect to do ink as well as electronic. The moment I walked into the building, my experience was pleasant. The deputy that greeted me, asked for my ID and inquired about why I was there. I told him I was there for fingerprinting. He got the info he needed from my ID and then proceeded to give me instructions for going thru security. He kindly spoke, giving me instructions on how to to get to the forensic department where fingerprinting is done. It is because of him that my experience there is even getting 2 stars. As I entered the forensic department, I approached the window where a woman name Robin rudely greeted me with a «yes» in an annoyed and bothered tone. I told her I needed fingerprints done. Her response, «what for?!» To which I replied, «for my job.» She sighed and said, with her continued rude tone, «so, employment!» Like referring to my job was apparently the wrong word usage for her. I told her I needed 4 cards, 2 ink and 2 electronic. Her reply to that was«Are you serious?! Why?» Me, «well, each of my employers requires something different.» She was not thrilled to spend a max of 10 minutes doing her job! Long story, short, her customer service needs serious help! If you need fingerprints, I hope for your sake she isn’t working, or has had some training and practice at better customer service and personal interaction!

This review is specific to the crime lab fingerprinting(I’ve been in twice). First off, their hours may or may not be convenient. If you work a regular 9−5…probably not as, presently, they run from after lunch to prior to regular business hours(1 – 3:45PM). A second note, they have security(surprise?) and you should really leave your bags etc. in your vehicle. If that’s not an option… hope you have a friendly security guide like I did for my first visit. They kept my bag down by their station while I went up. Here’s the details for the fingerprinting( ). So, aside from the friendly security guard the first time I stopped in, security has seemed pretty friendly. The facility always seems immaculate. As for the fingerprinting itself, the service, the two times I have been have been polar opposites. The first time I went the attendant was friendly, taught me a little bit about the process and made small talk. Couldn’t have asked for more; I wish I recalled her name. The second time… OMG…the only worse would have been if they hadn’t actually done provided the service. For example, when I arrived, Robin let me know that I was interrupting her day. I needed her to help me fill out an out of state form, required for a job application and her words, more or less, were«You realize we’re very busy here and this is going to take time from my day?» Uh… yes, where do you expect me to go? I need fingerprints, I’m paying for the service and this form will likely take a total of 5 – 7 mins. It indeed took a few minutes to fill out the form. So sorry. Nonetheless… or maybe because of this, she very quickly filled the fingerprint cards, much more quickly than the other attendant. So, if you don’t mind cold, rude service, it sure was prompt. Granted, I don’t know Robin, nor her typical demeanor. This was one day, during the build up to Christmas(often very stressful); still, stressed or otherwise, I don’t throw frozen crap at those that I serve. Ultimately, service was patchy, but I also never had to wait to get my prints done.
