Plateau Runner

I’m a newbie runner that just completed the c25k program and figured my ‘graduation’ present was some real running shoes, not the sneakers I’d been walking in for a year.
The staff spent about 30 minutes with me, educating me on running shoes, watched how I walked to see if I needed to compensate for anything in my stride. They brought out a variety of shoes make/​models and showed me what was different about each before I tried them on.
They staff helping me was friendly, helpful, not pushy. And they were patient with my newbie questions before I picked the shoes. I’m glad I went to my neighborhood’s running store.

I love this place! I’m a long-​time runner and very particular about my shoes and gear. The staff is super helpful and friendly. I was there last week and Mark helped me with the proper fit on a set of insoles. He’s also doing some follow up work for me to get me the right heart rate monitor to match my GPS watch (which has been discontinued and compatibility with the current heart rate monitors is not real clear). If you’re looking for great service and fair prices, go here — you won’t be disappointed.

I went in needing a new pair of running shoes but had no idea what I wanted but the staff was amazing! The lady working was extremely knowledgeable, so friendly and took a significant amount of time to make sure I got what I needed. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Very helpful. My wife and I both had bunch of questions on right fit for our shoes. They were patient and found the right fit for us. Glad they are in the neighborhood.

I’m new to the Seattle area and recently started running on trails around the area. I’ve never really done trail running in the past so I stopped by Plateau to get some shoes — they were helpful and informative I helping me choose what to go with. Thanks Plateau!

These folks are great! I am a novice runner and they were very knowledgeable and helpful in selecting the proper gear for my needs. They are willing to spend the time it takes to get what you really need versus pushing for just a fast sale. They also have a great selection of gear. I will definitely be back!

I have been looking for a place to get fitted for walking/​jogging shoes for a couple of months and finally found Plateau Runner. I’m pretty sure it is the only running store on the plateau or in Redmond.
PROS:
–This is a small business, which is always nicer in my opinion.
–The lady that fit my shoes was very helpful and not at all pushy.
–I got shoes that feel good for my foot without having to try on a bazillion different pairs. (i.e. I was brought shoes specifically for my foot and the performance I was looking for.)
–The shoes I purchased were actually on sale, but even if they weren’t they would have been reasonably priced. In general the prices seemed fair.
–Plateau Runner is close enough to my house to make for a convenient stop. Particularly when it provided me the exact service I wanted!
–They have information (signups maybe?) for local races/​fun runs.
CONS:
–The complex where they are located doesn’t really lend itself to a lot of foot traffic. If I hadn’t been searching for a running store I probably wouldn’t know Plateau Runner even existed.
OVERALL:
If you need running and/​or walking shoes and would like to get a proper fitting go here. They are nice, it’s a small business, prices are on par, and it isn’t so easy to find running stores anymore. I’ll definitely be a return customer.
