This place is closed!!! Showed up there in September 17, and it was empty, just the for lease sign in the window!

I’m really glad this place opened in our neighborhood. The café is great. Someone mentioned that it felt like a family opened up their living room and I agree. My wife and I were treated like family our first time there. Is it more casual than other more trendy hookah bars? Yes, and that’s why we like it. If you’re looking for a hookah joint where you can be «cool,» there are more expensive places to go. If you’re looking for some place to wind down and hang out, this is perfect. Everyone is very chill, laid back. Couches are comfortable and the gear is quality. They have a wide range of flavors and a decent selection of drinks. However, the food from the café is outstanding. Best lamb tikka I’ve had in San Antonio. This is a great place to wind down a night out with snacks and friends.

Definitely some of the best Mediterranean eats in the River City. They now occupy two spaces in a little strip. The shisha lounge has been here a while but they opened up a kitchen next door about three weeks ago that is serving some of the best falafel, shishkabobs, hummos, and thoom(white garlic sauce) in town! Sammy the owner is a very nice guy who is enthused about the food he sells, and he should be. All of the meats he uses are certified halal, which is the Arabic word for kosher. I ordered the grilled chicken kabobs and an appetizer of falafel. Everything was wonderful! The chicken was well seasoned, the falafel was also delicious. He even gave me a little Middle Eastern flatbread that had a mixture of ground lamb and spices atop of it, the flavor of everything was exactly what I have come to love from Mediterranean cuisine. Sammy and I talked for a while and he told me that he gets much of his business from nearby Ft. Sam Houston. I told him that he has a new regular customer in me and I’ll be back to try more of his menu. So, good people of San Antonio, if Middle Eastern fare is your thing give 5 Star a try. Conversely if you have never tried it before then this is an excellent introduction to the cuisine!

The hookah here is great but the new surprise is wonderful food. This is some of the best middle eastern food I have tried in the city. The reataraunt is next to the hookah café. This restaurant is a hidden gem and the food is made fresh. You can taste the love and attention they put in it.

5 stars for 5 stars shisa café for bringing Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine to my neighborhood. Lentil soup was amazing! Creamy, flavorful, exactly what it should be. The hummus was good also, fresh and tasty. The rice was cooked perfectly, and was just the right amount of buttery. The pita bread however was a bit thin, and a bit on the hard side, however it still went perfect with the gyro meat. Now that we are on the topic of the gyro itself it was awesome! They have an actual gyro cooker, its nice to see it spinning as you walk in… Some of the better that I have had in San Antonio! Definitely on par with some of the other«shisha,» cafes in town! Edit: after being closed for a short time they are now open again.

The worst hookah bar I’ve ever experienced… Want music? They’ll play your phone on computer speakers… –_-. The atmosphere is kind of weird and awkward. It’s like a family randomly opened up shop and said hey come on in

Plays is okay, I asked to be seated outside it was just that some lawn chairs needs a bit more character. When the owner is there it’s a great time to go it.

I don’t know why it’s called the 5 star shisha café. Right when you walk in, your head starts hurting because of all the smoke. How does a hookah café not have a vent??? Customer service was whack; we were waiting to be seated for a good 5 minutes while the workers were just standing around. Never going back.

Great spot for hookah! Nice atmosphere. I like the way tables are set up. The owner is really nice. The chai tea is very good, I really like that they serve it with sugar cubes. They have Starbuzz and Al Fakher shisha right now. The price on there shisha is good and I recommend adding an ice tip. The owner said she plans to add food to the menu around summer time, I’m really excited because there is no other Middle Eastern food nearby.
