I’m not from SA, I’m from a big city with lots of bars, but None as unique as this one. I love the bars enthusiasm for rock music, the walls plastered with the rock legends and memorabilia, rock art decore, it’s awesome. The staff is friendly and laid back. They make popcorn, and your welcome to grab yourself a bowl. There’s darts and pool tables available, tv screens for the game(Spurs, of course), and while they don’t serve food you can bring your own in I believe. Tables and bars stools for seating. There’s a few options for beer on tap, funny enough I didn’t even have a beer but I saw they had steins available. I really enjoyed the vibe of this place, I visit everytime I’m in town and always enjoy myself.

We stumbled(literally) upon Bonds 007 Rock Bar on our first night in San Antonio, Texas. We had no idea where we were, or where we were going… just looking for a place to get a cold beer. There were six of us, and none of us looked like we belonged in a «Rock Bar» but we were treated fine by the staff and the people inside. Played some pool. Drank some really BIG cold beers. Saw a whole bunch fans pour in after the Queensryche concert. Loud music. Cold Beer and some really chill people. I liked it!

Do you like Metal? … If that answer is Yes… then head to Bonds 007 Rock Bar every chance you can get! Great Jukebox always rocking Live Music upstairs on Weekends & Free Popcorn! Great dive bar downtown along the Riverwalk… but you won’t find it in the heart of the city… head north just a bit… right next door to Korova night club.

I was looking for a chill bar downtown and got a bar with an attitude problem. Service is below average and definitely dips when they rush u out of the place very rudely right at two a.m., even if you have been a good customer till that point. NEVERGOINGBACK. CHRISTINAANDRICKWEREBARTENDINGFYI!

We were just looking for a place to have a few drinks and we found this bar. Now when it says Rock bar, its a ROCK bar. Playing some old and new metal, pool tables and plenty of TV’s to watch the Spurs play. Service was a little better than average, attentive but not overly and if you want to a little more intimate, you can just move to other sections of the place. And they also have live music upstairs, sounded like local metal, just didn’t have time to check it out. Will certainly come back, for good drinks and good music.

If your looking for chill hideaway with a change of pace from the usual hip hop spot. This is a great place, big drinks with small prices and killer shots. Not to mention the yager flows like water. If i have ever had a bad time at BONDS then i don’t remember it. good people and good times

Definitely a Metal Bar. Relaxed people in a hardcore atmosphere with great drink specials. My party sat down with a few drinks and ogled the Metal memorabilia on the walls, and as I looked up I saw a demon baby staring down at me. A DEMONBABY! I elbowed my boyfriend to see if maybe it was just time for me to push the glass away and pointed up. It was not just me. There is a Demon Baby on one of the speakers in Bond’s. Nice two-level live music bar downtown. Caters to the metal crowd, so no complaints from us. We just wandered in and we were joking that we didn’t have enough black on to fit in with the crowd! But hey, beers are cold, people friendly, nobody hit on my wife… so ya it was a good time.

They moved a table and set up a spot for us to jam. The patrons were all amazing! Most energetic crowd, ready to rock!

I find myself here quite often. The hubby plays here alot. I love the atmosphere, it is totally rock and roll and loud. Don’t expect to have any conversations and you voice to be strained. I haven’t spent much time in the downstairs bar other than ordering something on draft. The layout seems to flow and the décor is way interesting. I spend most most of my time upstairs in the stage area. I myself haven’t had much luck on drinks. I had a draft of shocktop previously and was pretty sure another beer was infused in there. This last time around my husband ordered me some sort of girly drink that was made up of cherry syrup and not much of anything else. I suggest sticking with bottled beer.

I love this place! It’s the perfect bar to drink a beer and listen to some old rock! The staff is always friendly. The place is spacious. The music in the jukebox is awesome. They even have live bands sometimes. There’s always a drink special, or even the big-ass mug is a deal in itself. Sure the music tends to be a little loud, but it’s a rock bar, I wouldn’t expect anything less. If it’s too loud, you’re too old! Bottom line — come here to drink a beer, listen to music that’ll make you reminisce and have a great night with friends!

As a gal who’s enjoyed San Antonio’s music scene for years, it pains me to give one of the few thriving venues left anything but a five-star rating. But after some questionable beer and some«meh» service, I can’t give it any more. My husband had a show here recently and we all got there about an hour early to set up upstairs. The bar upstairs doesn’t have Shocktop on draft so the band went downstairs to get us some beer. Now I know my Shocktop and what was served to us was either a very old keg or a mix of Shocktop and another beer. It tasted skunky and smelled funky! My girlfriend ordered a Sour Cherry Vodka and she said it was gross but I wouldn’t think a rock bar would master the ultimate chick drink so I didn’t ding them for that. Again, because this is a rock bar, I didn’t expect white glove service but these dudes were flat out rude sometimes. I felt like I was at Dicks minus the over-priced food. As long as you just come for the music and pool, Bonds is a pretty cool place to either headbang or chill. I’d recommend ordering something the bartenders won’t screw up(aka Miller Lite in a bottle) and be willing to back-sass the staff.

Next door to Korova, this is the place to hear awesome and not so great local metal. The only bad thing is if you wanna order a drink, you will have to raise your voice because the music here is FREAKINGLOUD!!! But since Bond’s has the name Rock Bar, it does play rock so don’t expect any classical or easy listening music to be played here!

Solid A-OK plus an extra star for speedy service and friendly patrons. Was killing time waiting for Kris to open his RockerDogz Gourmet Street Dogz stand( ) when he set up next to The Korova( ). Since The Korova did not really strike us as a place to kill time, we landed here and are glad we did. Mickey’s on tap was the special and my brother and I downed a few of those before heading back out to see if Kris was ready.

I agree with Tricia here, I am not sure why it’s named Bond’s 007 if there’s no Bond’s theme inside but that aside, this was a pretty cool spot downtown. The beers are big. BIG if you get ‘em on draft and ice cold, which is always a huge plus. Nothing too fancy, nothing too expensive and you can take Jäger shots out of an ice luge, which is always a klassy touch to an evening! The bartender was super friendly. The patrons were just hanging out. I feel like it is the kind of place that can get rowdy, but it definitely wasn’t rowdy at all the night I was in(a Thursday about 10pm). What I thought was super cool was the music, from a jukebox and the night I was in we were listening to a bunch of old Johnny Cash and the like, which I love. You can play pool or darts or other bar games, you can hang out at the tables, jam at the jukebox, or just grab a stool by the bar like we did and chat up the bartenders. Oh and one more thing. The bathrooms are super clean. I was actually really impressed to find such nice bathrooms in a bar like this. They even have a dry erase board for you to leave messages about how you love your boyfriend 4-EVA and EVA!

We came in here after a wedding that was close by recently… quite funny to see all us dressed up folk with all the very casual patrons staring at us. I would definitely be game for coming here on a future visit as a chill place to get some drinks, play some pool, listen to some loud rock music(typically I enjoy that but I was getting tired by this point), and catch up with friends. Very laid back. Other than the sign at the entrance though, I didn’t really see any sort of James Bond theme inside… but it certainly worked as an afterparty spot for the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Bonds :)
