We stopped by around 8:30 on a Monday evening. It wasn’t busy at all and we were immediately seated. We waited for approximately 10 – 15 minutes and was never waited on. Two different waiters checked on the tables right beside us but never acknowledged us. We decided at that time to leave. I let the hostess know that we were never waited on. No apology.

My daughters and I just happened to walk by Charlies on the Riverwalk after 9 pm, and overheard them say Margaritas half price and they had a late hour Happy Hour. It wasn’t crowded and we sat upstairs on outside patio and had the best time eating appetizers half price, drinking cactus margaritas, talking and watching people on the Riverwalk. Our waiter was the best. Attentive, interested and accommodating!

This place does not deserve the one star I gave it. I can go on for hours on how terrible this place is, but don’t want to waist my time or yours. If you want TERRIBLE service then this place is for you.

We had a large party on a Friday so not your usual size table. Food was not good services was awful because they are understaffed The manager could not help and the meal was not worth the money. I would stay clear if you have high expectations of a good burger on the river.

My boyfriend and I were on the river walk looking for a place to eat and this was the only place that looked good without a 30 minute wait so we walked in. Food was good, loved the chili cheese fries. My chicken parm sandwich was good too. I also got a not your fathers root beer shake and it was pretty good. My only issue was service wasn’t the best. Our server barely acknowledged us aside from getting our order, delivering it and giving us our check. Aside from that, I’d probably be back if I’m in the mood for a good burger!

My mom and I went here tonight because I really wanted a burger and had read other reviews that said it was delicious here. We had Daniel as our server and he was awesome. He was quick and also very friendly. I ordered just a bacon cheeseburger and was very pleased with it. The brioche bun was toasted to perfection and the meat was juicy. In addition, it was real bacon that was crispy and fresh, not a greasy string of crap like some places have. My mom got a side salad and Mac&Cheese, both which were also awesome. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Bad bang for the buck. Had ribs here totally drowned in sauce. Wasn’t worth what I paid for it but the atmosphere was decent.

Nice play on words(on ‘What a Burger’ chain). This place serves up a respectable burger and fries. I had the Charlie’s Special with American cheese in & out. Sautéed onions and sliced jalapeño finishes off this satisfying American icon. A good beer selection, an attentive perky server and a very good Riverwalk vantage point made for a very enjoyable late lunch. Sometimes you choose a restaurant for the ambiance — here they’re ‘selling’ the Riverwalk experience. Definitely worth it.

We have been stopping here while in town for breakfast. I can’t get enough of the chicken and waffles and the hubby loves the classic breakfast. We are hoping to get over there for lunch and or dinner while in town. If their lunch and dinner is as good as the breakfast you’re in for a treat. I totally recommend the breakfast though. The waitstaff is always so kind and attentive. And the décor both inside and out are great with a great atmosphere.

Oi vay what an experience! They have a lot of tv’s but we still had to move tables a couple times to get a proper view of the game that was playing. We explained to the server we were super hungry and to bring either the side or burger out first, no need to wait for it all to be together. He said it was HH and it would be quicker to get an appetizer out much quicker than the burger orders. WELL. We listened to him and ordered the onion rings as an app. Twenty minutes later the onion rings come out and there’s only 5 tiny rings! Those were devoured within a minute and in less than another minute the burgers were out!!! What a waste of ordering the appetizer that still took as much time as the burgers and not even worth the HH price. Super disappointing. The table next to us clearly was having a worse experience because they called over the manager twice to their table. About the burgers: I got the S.A. Luau Burger which was a seriously delicious combination of flavors. Pineapple slices, avocado, and jalepeno cream sauce! But that burger patty? DRYYYYYY. Luckily I’m a sauce lover and drowned that sucker in it. SO got the Juicy Luicy, same issue, dryyyy. Since his burger was mainly about the meat and cheese, he really didn’t enjoy it(the jalepenos were forgotten) and found it plain on top of dry. Really disappointing experience that did not make me want to come back for another burger.

Nowhere left on the Riverwalk for dinner during a Spurs game. Ordered 2 burgers that came out blood raw. Guy said«all burgers are cooked medium unless requested» Here’s a request: I’d like mine of the non-tartare variety! There’s medium and there’s still mooing! Paid for our drinks and bounced.

The food was pretty average, but the drinks were good. They had happy hour going on which wasn’t great($ 9 for a 22 oz drink or $ 4 or $ 5 for a 9 oz). 22 oz is actually just a regular sized drink. Our server was Daniel and he really made our experience great. He gave terrific advice about the area and his drink recommendations were spot on. Def ask for him!

This was the first meal I had that was at a place near the Riverwalk. The onion rings are the Best I’ve had in my life! The secret is that they put Shiner Bock beer in the batter! They have a challenge to try to eat a 2 pound burger in an hour, but I opted for a decent half pound medium rare local burger that had a Mexican flare to it, and I appreciated that they gave me jalapeños on the side so I could decide how spicy it was! A few Texas brews on tap and some black IPA which I discovered I’m not a fan of… Prices are fair and great atmosphere for watching March Madness!

Probably one of the best tasting burgers I’ve had of all time. This place is such a cool and hip place to go. I would totally do this over again! Order the double cheeseburger, it was amazing.

I visited SA for a convention and remembered how terrible most of the restaurants are on the Riverwalk. I came with a group of 4 for the first visit and we had a group of 3 the second time. I wasn’t expecting anything great because every restaurant I’ve been to on the Riverwalk seems to act like they have no obligation to make their food great because people will eat around there for the experience and so they don’t have to drive off and search for parking when they get back and really, I guess they don’t have to be great with those two problems alone. Restaurants could definitely cause a stir if their food is awesome and at a reasonable price for the tourists. It would create a good competition for best restaurant and service. Last year, we ate at blah places and I wanted to make sure it didn’t happen again. Enter CEAB. This place is new from what our waitress told us so then I started hoping for something better than bland refried beans and boring enchiladas. The place is sporty with the TVs playing different games on a variety of sports channels. They have a bar nearby and a second story. Their chairs are light aluminum which makes it easy for parents to one handedly move things around for their kids. The TVs aren’t loud but enough to hear them with a medium crowd. The menu describes their dishes well enough for you to understand exactly what you’re going to get. Sounds like a dumb thing to say except I’ve been to places who listed ingredients but not exactly how it’s all prepared or layered and then came differently than described. I seem to have a thing for patty melts with the grilled onions and melted cheese just makes them the perfect burger/sandwich for me. I chose their version which comes with their own sauce on it. My friend chose their luau burger which she liked. My burger arrived and I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the burger. They look as though they were already shaped by a company but there was no frozen flavor and instead tasted fresh. I couldn’t tell if the burger itself was seasoned with anything other than salt but definitely wasn’t under seasoned. The cheese was melted, onions were caramelized and the patty was juicy. All well and perfect there. I finished that thing fast! Our waitress was very sweet too and kept our drinks full. Our second lunch visit was just as perfect. I chose the Spicy Burger though since I was told by a girl in training that she tried it and loved it. You get fried jalapeños and fried pickles and candied bacon, as well as a habanero sauce and cheese. I cut into it, took a picture and bit into it. Perfect. It had just the right amount of spice too. It’s not enough to beg for milk and more than needing hot sauce to get a sting on the tongue. I’m happy it was juicy and that it wasn’t bland. I’m a burger snob and it worked out well for me. The waiter filled our cups and if he was helping others, there were other waiters coming by to fill our cups and take our plates. Dirty dishes didn’t sit out long at all. As we walked out, I noticed the tables outside were full of empty plates. That told me that others had the same experience. I really hope this place continues to do well and beat out everyone but I also hope that a Tex Mex place beats the others. Something needs to change there and maybe CWAB is the beginning of that.

Ordered the chicken & waffles, my waffles were cold. And my chicken had no flavor. I asked for hot sauce and the waitress never mentioned that that I had to pay extra. It wasn’t much but considering the fact that my food was cold… it would have been fair for the waitress to waive that fee!

I visited San Antonio when the Cardinals(my home team) were in the National League playoffs. We were looking for somewhere to watch the game, and this was a great choice. They have large TV’s and a fun sports bar atmosphere(we weren’t the only ones who wanted to watch our game!). Our server was very helpful and friendly. It made the place seem very warm and welcoming. Food and booze was good. Definitely better than some of the other tourist trappy places on the same stretch of the river.

This place is terrible all around. The server asked me twice if medium for my burger was fine and I said that’s fine. I also asked for bacon and cheese to be put in burger. I got none of this. The burger was well done and tasted like shit. Not to mention the food took 45 mins for the party of 6, when it was mostly empty. I would never go back and eat here.

We tried the chipotle raspberry wings and the Thai chili wings. They were yummy. The chipotle raspberry sauce is sweet with a kick! Definitely need water. The Thai chili is milder, with a nice subtle kick. The cave man nachos with chicken were pretty good. They were skimpy on the cheese and the chicken didn’t have much flavor. We could have done without the chicken — it didn’t add any flavor; just meat in my mouth. We ate outside, which was a beautiful view of the River Walk — great for people watching. However, there were flies everywhere — like more than normal. They may want to invest in some of hose blue light things. The flies kept me from giving it another star. When we finished eating, we counted 6 flies on our plate — and more swarming.

I’ve been going to the riverwalk for quite some time and always saw this place, but I would just think it’s just another burger. I finally told myself I’m gonna go eat there and I had one good dining experience there. The seating of you seat outside can be kind of tight but for the amount of people there on this day the service was pretty good. The food was pretty good if I must say, we started of with there cactus pear margarita and they were some of the best I’ve ever had, we them jumped into the shiner bock beer battered onion rings. The juicy Lucy burger was pretty good to… our waiter Thomas was very awesome and helpful, he even took a couple of minutes to talk to us. All in all it made for a wonderful evening especially drinking those cactus pear margaritas… We even hit the bar upstairs and watched the Spurs game.
