CLOSED! OUTOFBUSINESS! (I wonder why…) Well, apparently, too many negative reviews and China Sea finally succumbed. Drove by there on my way home(after wife and I finished dinner at Sea Island)…noticed NO cars in the lot. Went to investigate, and there it was… the writing on the wall… er, doors. «Closed permanently». Serves you right, China Sea. You provide poor food, bad service and VOILA! You’re out of business. Did you learn something from this? Like, don’t have your servers hover over the patrons; don’t have someone who speaks limited, broken English operating a grill and burn the fish; and clean your tea urns? And make decent sushi? Now the owner will have to find somewhere else to smoke and hang his Spurs memorabilia. I have zero sympathy for you, CS.

I’ve been here many times. There is a huge variety of foods to choose from. A variety of chinese/oriental dishes A variety of good olé American dishes Best time to go is early lunch around 11am. when everything is fresh… or around 5ish when they put out new fresh items. The salad bar has a variety of items to make a delicious salad. Lots of fruit to choose from and then there’s the cakes and cookies and ice crème In the evening you can have a steak… not the best meat, but sometimes you get a good cut For the price and all you can eat… it’s a good place to take the family too. Be sure and go hungry.

Honest advice from a Chinese girl: I’ve been going here for years. The food is pretty average, maybe a bit above average occasionally, but it’s the large selection they have that keeps me coming back. They have a good selection of sushi, but don’t expect it to be fantastic. They have lots of different kinds of American Chinese food like chicken broccoli, beef broccoli, lo mein, and fried rice. They also have some more original Chinese food like Chinese bbq ribs, sesame balls, and octopus/squid stir fry. One of the unique highlights of this buffet though is their steaks. They’ll make you a steak right in front of you however which way you like it and they’re worth getting. They limit 3 per person although I don’t imagine many people even getting more than 2. They have a nice large selection of desserts too. Lots of different kinds of cakes and cookies, fruit, and ice cream. The service is always good as is the price. $ 10 per person which I think is a great deal. I highly recommend this place to anyone really hungry and looking for some good ol’ Chinese food.

This place sucks so bad. I decided to try it after a friend said it was so good. They were so wrong. Nothing is fresh. You can taste it in the food that the meat isn’t fresh. Half of the stuff is cold and for the price I expected way better.

The food is fine for me. What I don’t like is rude service. I found some of the waiters brusque. I don’t want to have to wait for a waiter to insist on handling my check when s/he is not really a waiter in the first place — just refilling my water glass. I don’t like being hustled out as the place nears closing time — not at the rate they charge for the dinner buffet. I went a number of times; similar issues recurred. I’m not mad about it; I just go elsewhere now.

Whenever I want bad Chinese that tastes good, this is usually first on my list in San Antonio. Great variety of bad Chinese food complete with unlimited ice cream! Go during peak dinner hours to get unlimited sashimi! In a hurry? Get a meal to go rather than dine in. And remember, it ain’t an American-Chinese buffet if it isn’t moderately bad in a good way!

So my dad wanted to eat at a Chinese Buffet. Good interior, the bar was clean and almost always full. The food was pretty good for a buffet. My dad was happy with the fried shrimp, I was content with the sushi and selection. They have a pretty large desert bar. THe service was good; they server had a hard time understanding that my dad wanted a regular Coke after my friend an I both ordered Diet Coke. But he was nice, so that’s ok. So overall, If I ever get an inkling for chinse buffett, I will come again.

The food is alright, but heard it’s better to go there as soon as the food is cook — nice and hot. I wouldn’t say the best though. For some reason Chinese food are always too salty or to sweet; you’ll notice as you continue to eat. Still searching for the best though. Pls. be aware that there has been numerous car theft happening there. Our truck was broken into today. It’s unfortunate that the restaurant does not have outside cameras regardless of the number times of vehicles theft(I just learned today). I think it would be a great help for the community, officers and returning customers. Because of this incident, I do not want to return back to the restaurant. Officers recommend parking your vehicle at the side of the restaurant where you can see your car because even if our truck was parked in front of the restaurant and they have a greeter at the entrance, they still can’t see the crazy theft outside.

Okay, so I was questioning myself if this place would be good. So I flipped a coin and guess china it is… So it’s good for the price that you pay. The steak was okay, seafood was semi tasteful and they were keeping the hot dish fresh. Wait staff was friendly and helpful. So for a cheap chinese all you can eat. It’s not too bad.

The answer is NO ! Eek! It does kind of smell not so good here, I didn’t like anything I had, even the water was fowl. The egg in the salad area was green! Not like the normal kind in an egg but like green!!! I was seriously turned off. A waste of an appetite, when there are so many other better places to eat.

This place is just okay, Nothing great about it. I had a serious craving for Chinese food this weekend & this was the closest to where I was at the moment. I just wanted to stuff my face with chow mein & fried rice. The noodles was good but the rice was blah. Really nothing special and it barely tasted like fried rice, no spice, no seasoning just mixed veggies. I did however go back twice for the broccoli chicken & the fried chicken! it was delicious. The husband was like eh it was an okay place so we might go again if were in serious need for a Chinese food fix but other than that I’m sure we can find more quality food in the area.

No thank you, no thank you, no thank you. Having moved to this side of town, and away from my beloved«Asian Buffet,» I was looking for somewhere new. This is NOT it. I was not a happy camper when I left. It had nothing to do with the staff-the staff was friendly and attentive. It had nothing to do with the cleanliness-the place seemed quite clean. It was the food. It was just not good. Bland, tasted like old oil, or no taste at all. I found myself not finishing pretty much anything I came across. Maybe I was spoiled by the likes of «Asian Buffet» but this place is not for me. It shan’t be my new go-to for all I can eat Asian food. My search continues…

As hard as I may try, I just can not get myself to like China Sea. I mean, aside from the fact that I do my best to avoid buffets all together — I just don’t dig this. There’s also a peculiar smell that I just can’t seem to get over whenever I visited this restaurant in the past too. And it was subtle but not pleasant either. I would write it off as my ex who I used to frequent this place with but tbh, I can’t… and I won’t be mean. Foods to the masses and masses are always here. The restrooms are gross and the food does not make up for all it lacks.

Definitely not one of the best Chinese buffets in San Antonio. One of the worst things about this particular chinese buffets is the service. It’s really awkward to have all of the servers stand over you and watch you eat, which is what they. Not because they’re meaning to be awkward but because they want to make sure they refill your drink and take your plates when necessary. Some people may or may not find this creepy. Personally, I find it really strange and that’s one of the main reasons I dislike going here. The options on the buffet are outstanding, lots of chinese dishes, american dishes, even Mexican dishes. It is one of the more pricey buffets but you do have a lot of options. The salad and dessert bars are excellent too. Kids are free under the age of three which is also a bonus for those with toddlers.

I really liked everything about this restaurant; everything that I tried from the buffet was quite good. The staff was friendly, the décor has sailing ships, sea-themed paintings, and indoor palms. The seating area is well-lit and there is a good amount of space to sit. Recommended(standouts from my visit:) o Pineapple Chicken o General Tso’s Chicken o Sesame Chicken o Lizard-on-a-stick [ my pet name for the chicken skewers at all Chinese buffets ;-) ] o Egg rolls over spring rolls(by a small margin) o Fried Catfish –Best Chinese I have found in San Antonio so far, will definitely be going back.

Wow… though crowd!!! When it comes to Chinese buffets, China Sea is one of the top contenders in San Antonio, the parking lot is always full, but they have enough room to accommodate a really large crowd. The food isn’t excellent, but I haven’t been to a Chinese buffet in San Antonio that is excellent all around. For service and cleanliness, the buffet bars and dining areas have always been clean when I ate there, but of course, I can’t speak for behind the scene(i.e. kitchen). Overall, that’s why I go there, it’s cleaner than most, especially compared to some of the the other heavy weights in town, like the two off of 410, towards Ingram mall, they have their issues too. Well, enough with that… One of the good things about their food is that you can expect the same great quality and taste every time. Also, the atmosphere is good for kids and all ages, the staff is friendly as can be, plus your glass is always full. Although, the prices are kind of steep, especially for dinner and weekends, because of the crab legs and shrimp, but if you aren’t going to eat those items, then plan on going for lunch on the week days, the prices fare a little better, but well worth it. Its funny what some people wrote about China Sea and buffets, being like cattle and the talk of gluttony and such… just have a little self control, if you can’t control yourself, then yeah, you shouldn’t be going to places with an open invitation to taste a variety of different things. Well, good luck with that!!!
