Fantastic! All the positive reviews are spot on, and I too would like to leave more than five stars. Don’t let the appearance of the strip mall location fool you, the food is first class. We had a large group and Chef Waldito catered to everyone, including us meat eaters, a vegetarian, a vegan and a toddler. He brought our granddaughter some chicken and rice right away so she wouldn’t be fussing while waiting. Besides the crazy good food, the tea as noted by others in their reviews was also amazing. We had a large tab, but it was more like having a culinary experience with your own personal(and very personable) chef, so we felt it was well worth it — everyone loved it! Highly recommend you give it a try. We are hoping Chef Waldito moves back to Phoenix.

Hospitable and delicious food. This place is a sure delight. You must come here Chef Waldito & his lovely wife(Josie) are so down to earth and they care about food. We had a great conversation about delicious food. I had the lunch buffet, chicken, beans, plantains and rice. And some of the best tea ever! For dessert there was fresh fruit(my favs-pineapple & strawberries). Yesss This will be a new go-to spot.

This was my first time eating here. Waldo was most hospitable and I let him choose our meal. From the tamales to desert, it was fantastic! Great place!

This place was delicious. The owner/chef and the staff were very nice and so friendly. The chef came to every table to talk to the customers and see how we liked everything. I was really surprised with how great this little place is. I’m not ex military or police but really thought it was so cool. To offer 50% off of there lunch buffet that is already only $ 6.99 to military and police Now that’s some military and police appreciation. And I will always support a place that is that good to out military and officers. And this is from a Puerto Rican restaurant(pretty small place, but VERY popular). More places need to treat our military and police officers this good.

WOW! This is a little gem in San Antonio! I tried the buffet, and the tamales were very tasty and the chicken estofado melted in my mouth. The service was beyond my expectations and I will return! Chef Waldo has a wonderful personality that just makes you want to come back and enjoy his cooking which as he says comes his heart! Next in my list: Chupe de Camarones and the Arroz con Mariscos :)

The food was extremely good! A little bit pricey. Paid 48 $ for 2 people. Location was not in a very safe environment And for some reason we were the only couple in the place. Once again the food was good. But Waldo kept coming out to talk to us. I think he was flirting with my girlfriend. He came out 2 – 3 time and sat down with us it Was kind of creepy But food was good Best yuca fries iv had.

Come here for the lunch buffet. It is delicious and well worth the money. This place may be a bit confusing for a first timer, but basically what you do is walk up to the little stand where the chef is prepping the food and he will serve you a plate. He will ask you what you want and I’d recommend to get everything! Take your plate back to a table and they will serve you ice tea. Enjoy the delicious Peruvian food and grab as many plates as you want! Easily one of the best hole in the wall places in San Antonio.
