*** The is a review regarding a single incident by a Sever on Thursday 06÷02÷16 during lunch hours) *** I am a very loyal Thai Taste customer and have been for years… I think their food is the best Thai food in town and their customer service has always been good if not great(since I am a regular they always know exactly what I want and have always been friendly)… Unfortunately I went in during lunch time and of course they were averagely busy as always, which was fine for me cause I was not in a rush. I was greeted with, «nice to see you», and sat quickly. However the waitress whom I’ve rarely had assist me prior(Hispanic server with long black hair and glasses) I’m assuming was assigned to me walked passed me several times without acknowledging me. I continued to be patient, however another couple who was seated(10mins) after me was greeted by her right away. Soon after starring her down she approached me; giving her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she had been busy prior and unintentionally overlooked me. I begin to place my order since I already knew what I wanted and cause I had a very hungry and 2yr old with me. I asked her if she could bring out the chicken satay first since it was for the child who was getting fussy cause he was really hungry. She seemed confused when I asked, then she said, ‘so you don’t want it brought out with your food?’ I replied, «no, I would like it brought out first since the child was really hungry». She at that point responded sarcastically and in a harsh tone stating that I wanted it brought out as an appetizer, knowing that the chicken satay is an appetizer. I responded, «yes, whatever is quickest», since obviously she seemed confused and was being rude mannered in her tone. Soon after she brought out my soup and tea and dropped it off quickly with attitude with out giving me time to ask her for anything else. I had to get her attention once again to ask for extra lemons, and when I asked she looked at me blankly and just turned and walked away… Minutes later she came back empty handed and asked the table next to me if their was anything she could get them and they asked for lemons and she quickly brought them out to them… Mind you I’m still sitting at a booth with a very upset child at this point and the waitress kept avoiding me, of course I got up and had to walk to the front check out desk and ask the hostess if she could bring me some lemons. The hostess apologized for the rude behavior of the server and immediately had my server bring me some. That was the last time the server visited my table, was when she dropped off the lemons with out even looking at me. Another server from a different section brought out my food while the whole time my server visited every single one of the tables around me to refill their drinks and see if they needed anything… She never once came to refill my drink or check on my table, especially since I needed a refill less than half way through my lunch and also needed a to-go container. I had to take my plate up to the cashier/hostess when I was paying and she quickly packed it to go. The hostess once again apologized for the horrible service the server had given me and acknowledged the attitude the server had. With this being said, I will of course continue to visit Thai taste(cause it’s my favorite restaurant in town), but would hope that this complaint will reach the proper management and the server will be addressed.

Ive been to Thailand a few times and lived around large Thai communities in Los Angeles so its reasonable to say Ive had a good experience with Thai food. That said, the pad thai chicken here is excellent. I ordered spicy scale of 8 but it wasnt as hot as I liked it so I added more chili. Everyrhing was fresh. All spices seem to be all there when I devoured the plate leaving no traces. Eggroll just came out of the fryer. So for my first experience, its a good one! Will definitely come back to try other dishes.

I was a regular Thai Taste customer, I would order take out once every 1 – 2 weeks. I went and order what I always order, the chicken pad thai at a spice level 5, and the waitress advised me that the chilis were spicy today, so I changed my spice number to a 4, because they scale it from a 1 – 10, with one being the lowest. Anyway, I received my plate which was super spicy, I took a few bites and I couldn’t eat anymore because my mouth was on fire. I nicely asked the waitress if she could take it back and give me a different one with no spice. She was super rude in telling me it wasn’t an option and I was stuck with the plate. I asked if I could speak to management or the owner and she said he was too busy cooking in the back. I was so frustrated because I was hungry and couldn’t eat lunch that I had paid for. I was still charged for my soup and tea, so taking the pad thai off only saved me a little under $ 2. Absolutely ridiculous. I paid $ 3 for a small cup of tasteless cabbage soup, and $ 2 for tea. I will never go back because of terrible management and terrible employees. I have been way too patient with the rude staff for far too long. They charge $ 1 for about 2 tablespoons of peanut sauce. Dumb.

Amazing food & great service! My husband & I enjoyed a Valentine’s Day dinner starting with the chicken skewers for appetizers followed by the cashew chicken and broccoli delight for the main courses. We were in heaven. Great food, good prices without all the craziness of the chain restaurants. We’ll be going back.

I came in here to try their hot and sour soup and it was less than average. The waitress recommended I order the small bowl but I ordered the big one thinking it will be great. The bowl came with smaller bowl to serve smaller portions. So after serving my first smaller portion I didn’t like the soup. Too thick and not favorably delicious. So I asked the waitress that I’m willing to keep the small soup but I don’t want the large bowl. She snapped back with«I told you to get the smaller one» I told her I understand and that I’m sorry and I’m willing to order something else on the menu. She came back with«you have to pay for the large soup and take it to go.» I didn’t choose anything else on the menu because of the bad service. I paid and left very disappointed.

One of my favorite Thai places! I have been to two others near medical center but always felt that Thai taste was unique in flavor. The staff is always super friendly and the food taste fresh. My favorite is the pad thai with tofu and if you don’t want a soup they give you the option of an extra eggroll(spring roll) which are also really good! The prices are great at lunch time! The parking all depends on what time you go. it can be busy around lunch time but tends to dwindle down around 1:30 ish. Overall I recommend Thai taste!

Thai Taste is all about the taste, lovely food, lovely service. Both the Green Curry and the Pad Thai were excellent. Green Curry was a bit spicy compared to other places for a medium spice, but that didn’t stop for destroying such delicious food. The food came fast and water was replenished constantly. Environment was relaxing and clean. A must for the Thai food enthusiast.

Upon my visit I ordered the Thai Seafood salad medium heat… delicious. Since I was one of the few who entered my service was prompt and courteous. I will will return to try their other dishes but with heat at around 8 from a scale of 1 to 10.

I once loved Thai Taste, and dined in there often, excusing the poor service because the dishes were wonderful, and they accommodated vegans, which I was for years. This last time, though, was sorry. I’ve had better frozen Thai meals. The chicken was rubbery. They skimped on the vegetables. The sauce was not the same, or authentic, and not entirely pleasant. The man who took my order over the phone said it was sugar, and soy sauce based, which concerned me for a moment, but it didn’t have any allergy triggers, and I was starving. The noodles were over cooked! Getting a little queasy just recalling. They’ve also changed the menu, and it’s far less veg friendly, more fish sauce laden which is deadly for me. I pretend like they’ve closed. RIP Thai Taste.

My gold standard– I used to frequent this restaurant when I worked in San Antonio at Southwest Research Institute for 11 years. Since moving up to the Northeast I have sampled at least a dozen other Thai restaurants in my communities and in my travels in hopes that I can find a new favorite Thai restaurant. Thai Taste has been my gold standard and no others have lived up to the flavors that Thai Taste can produce. I especially like the Pad Thai and Pad Woonsen. The waitstaff was always friendly too. I will definitely be eating lunch and dinner there when I go back to visit San Antonio.

Yuuuuum yum yumm. No lie this place is great. I have never really had thai food but ever since i started to try out other places i realized this was the best. Either we dine in or call in an order for pick up, the food is fresh and tastes fantastic. The spring rolls with the sauce is one of my favorite things to order when i go, and the shrimp pad thai is my specialty with no peanuts. The staff is very polite and helpful, i have never had one issue with this restaurant and if you are looking to try a new Thai place, this is where you should come.

Been coming here over the years — live in Houston so haven’t seen it in a while but still one of the best Thai Restaurants in Texas — yeah Texas. Since my last visit the menu was updated and they have lunch portions now. Get your heat in and steer off the lunch menu to get some awesome Red Curry with beef — Tom Yum Gai — Green Curry with Chicken — spice it up to Thai Hot and the flavor is still awesome. We did all of the above for lunch — satay was fresh and juicy like it should be — spring roll was a little different but excellent flavor — will be back!!!

For a casual Thai, authentic, neighborhood type joint I give this place 5 stars! The Pad Thai with chicken, Thai iced tea, the Tom Ka Kai soup, shrimp curry, fried shrimp roll and coconut ice cream was delicious! Love this place we will be back!

I really love Thai food. My obsession started when I lived in Las Vegas, and it continues here in San Antonio. Although, I’ve made the mistake of visiting Thai restaurants in this city during lunch, and I think I finally learned my lesson here at Thai Taste. Dinner only. The lunch menu is smaller and limited, which I completely understand during a busy lunch hour. It’s just not my thing. There weren’t many vegetarian options, and unfortunately I reluctantly ordered Pad Thai. Allow me to preface with the fact that I dislike Pad Thai, and don’t order it very often, if ever. I know, I know, how could I hate such an infamous dish? Well, it smells like wet dog. Perhaps now that I’ve put the idea in your mind, you’ll notice it next time. The hot and sour soup was delicious. I think it’s hot and sour, but they call it «house soup». I devoured that bowl along with the egg roll. The Pad Thai was edible, and the tea was good. I may give this place another shot during dinner. The service here is pretty good. Drinks were refilled promptly and the food came quickly. The booth I sat at wasn’t cleaned very well. All in all, I’d say this place is okay, but certainly not my go-to Thai spot here in SA.

Love Thai taste! I’ve come here multiple times for lunch and it has yet to disappoint. Several of my co-workers love Thai Taste too. In fact, they recommended this place to me. It has become a lunch hot spot for people I work with. I always order option #1 b/c it is just so delicious. But when I tried another item on the lunch menu, it was equally good! The lunch special comes with a soup and an egg roll which are certainly good value for the price you pay. Lunch is also pretty quick. Servers are always friendly. I’ve also tried different things off the dinner menu. I pretty much liked everything I had. I especially enjoyed the pineapple fried rice, it is the best!
