Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

I absolutely love Freddy’s, but this location is terrible and I’ve been here on several occasions to try it, all times were bad. I did end up complaining to the manager after a horrible experience, went through the drive-​thru and got home to find out that our meals were all bad. Extremely watered down sweet tea, burgers ordered were doubles, but they gave us singles, fries tasted stale and had no seasoning, was NOT how Freddy’s ever is. Called the manager immediately to let him know. Spoke with Jeff, he seemed nice and told us to come back at a later time and he would re-​make the order for us.
Went back a week later, asked for Jeff and Jeff was not available. Another manager came by named Domingo and was extremely rude. I explained the circumstances however he was still rude, literally didn’t exchange words at all with me, passed the receipt to the cashier and went back into the back (never saw him again). Then, they proceeded to make my order, didn’t give me cups and forgot to give me a fry. When I went back, I told them I was missing an order of fries and his response was «we ran out». WHAT???
Got home and the burgers were pretty delish, but the fries were still stale and sweet tea was watery, not as bad as first time. Long story short, don’t go to this Freddy’s — go to another one.

The custard is excellent and the burgers are good.
Décor is classic burger joint style. Crew could clean up a little better.

I am giving this place 2 stars because the customer service was pleasant.
But here is the reason I didn’t give it 5 stars and mind you I have visited this location many times in the past. But on a recent visit I decided it will probably be my last.
Let’s start with the smell. It smells horrible in there. Like a backed up drain full of rotten meat.
Then I observed the staff making food with prep gloves on and not changing them out between handling the microphone used to call people to pick up their orders. They would touch that with bare hands or gloved hands. They would put it close to their mouths so close it was touching their mouths with gloves on then turn around and touch food. I saw them touch things below the food line then come back and use the same gloved hands to touch food. It was gross. The tea was cloudy and tasted horrible.
Change your gloves. Clean your drains or whatever is making that awful smell. But keep up that awesome customer service. That was your saving grace for sure.

Where to start?
I should say I like Freddy’s. I really really didn’t like this one.
First, I drive into the parking lot and the hamburger place next door is packed with people eating and a line to eat running out the door. That should have been hint one.
Next, walk in to Freddy’s and the place is so smokey it looks like it foggy inside.
Then I ask the girl taking my order if the exhaust fans quit working. She literally said «what?» I said the smoke, the place is smokey, did the exhaust fans quit working. She says, «oh they were cleaning.» WTF has that got to do with anything?
Then I order. I order the same thing every time… burger with onions, pickles, mustard and cheese… thats it. When the order shows up it has lettuce and tomatoes. WTF… you have a burger that comes with lettuce and tomatoes… if I wanted lettuce and tomatoes I would have ordered that one. The kid at the counter says he can take off the lettuce and tomatoes. Uh… no thanks, I don’t need your dick skinners on my food any more than necessary.
Go to get fry sauce. No cups for the fry sauce. I ask for cups. That almost sends the counter help into a melt down.
Go to sit down. Place doesn’t appear to have been cleaned since the place opened earlier in the day. WTF.
Honestly if every employee in the place wasn’t higher than a kite I’d be really surprised.
Don’t know who manages or owns the place but you have an issue.

The deserts are sooooo good here, I personally love the Hawaiian custard. It is crazy how good these are plus they are very affordable. So yes I will return probably more than I want to admit lol.

This place was super cute and the food tastes great (especially for the price). The staff was fun, upbeat, and polite. Didn’t think I’d be this happy about a hamburger joint.

Is this a steak and shake or what? Same colors, theme. Even lay out! Crazy!
Food was good, we didnt try sweets though. Price of food is more expensive then steak and shake.
Burgers were fine like fast food. And fries as little as steak and shake. So i wasnt impressed but kids loved it. So maybe we will come back for sweets.

First time eating here. Definitely fast food. Reasonable prices. Military discount. Very busy.

Staff was very accommodating for our large group. Even when we messed up our order they happily fixed it and did so with a smile. Thanks for making our stop enjoyable.

The staff was upbeat, friendly and straining to please!
My only complaint s the acoustics; this is one of the noisiest restaurants I have been in. Terrible, terrible acoustics!

This manager failed to tell us that their computers were down for 15 minutes. It’s ok that their computer was down. Not letting work professionals on a 30 minute or hour lunch break know for 15 minutes tells me their manager has no respect for anyone’s time.

Good ‘steak’ burgers and frys. Great desserts. A bit high priced but worth it. Nice employees,

We have been to Freddy’s several times, and this location twice.
The food has been consistently good at every location we have been to. My husband and I both usually get the single steak burger with cheese and make it a combo with fries and a drink. It is just enough food for each of us, though if you tend to have a bigger appetite I would recommend getting a double or triple steak burger instead of the single. The ingredients are always fresh. We love the fries because they are thin and a little crunchy… definitely try the Freddy’s fry sauce. I have ordered the custard twice, which is also very good. The price point is reasonable, it is usually under $ 15 when the two of us eat there.
My only complaint is that every Freddy’s I have ever been to is freezing cold! I tend to be cold natured, but it seems as though it is the perfect temperature to hang meat anytime you walk into the place. Despite the cold temperature, we will definitely eat at Freddy’s again.

All I got was a medium shake. It comes with a oversized straw. Which was not needed. My shake was barely cold! It was completely melted in 3 minutes. It’s not even good. Bad machine, bad crew, bad order, I don’t know? But from now on I will get my shakes at Sonic.

We’ve eaten at Freddy’s about 30 times in the past 5 to 8 years, so this is based on multiple visits. Everything we’ve experienced at Freddy’s is very good. Staff are attentive, friendly, and courteous. Service is not fast, but it’s because everything is freshly prepared. The food is made to order. The only thing frozen here is the custard. Burgers are delicious: hot, fresh, juicy, and flavorful. Not fancy. Not the best. Just darn good. Better than any chain (except perhaps Five Guys). Frozen custard is their schtick. The concrete turtle is my go-​to dessert. It’s wonderfully creamy and tasty. It’s always clean inside. Usually busy. They offer a military discount, so show them your ID! OVERALL: VERY GOOD. RECOMMENDED.

In general I am. Freddy’s fan. I was disappointed today by the awesome looking fish sandwich on the drive they menu, only to be told it’s not been on the menu for awhile. :(. This same thing happened last year as well. Not very prompt at updating their menu.

Second time trying a Freddy’s; first time for the wife. I think it’s her last time. I ordered the patty melt and asked the cashier if it was on rye. He said he thinks it’s just toast. It’s rye (yuck). I didn’t send it back because I had already decided it’s been over a decade since I’ve eaten rye, maybe I’d like it now. Nope.
The wife got a chili cheese dog. The chili is out of a dispenser (eew).
We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich for the little ones and the cheese wasn’t hardly melted.
That same cashier was sweeping the floor and came to our table and started sweeping at our shoes to get a fallen napkin. No «excuse me» no waiting until we’re gone. Obvious he’s new and quite a timid guy so I can’t fault him or Freddy’s much, but the food wasn’t great to make up for it. I would like to try the custard at some point, but overall, we’ll be going to Steak ‘n Shake as soon as it opens.

Sorry I’ll tone it down! There is nothing here that I hate. The shoestring fries (my fav) are done to perfection and the burgers are juicy and delicious. Like others I only recommend the double patty because the meat is thin but if you make sure to get a double you can’t go wrong. I love their brownie sundae. forget what it’s called but it has a brownie, chocolate ice cream and toppings. f-​ing fantastic. If only they had one closer to my hood.

For what it is, its great!
This place reminds me of Steak and Shake, if you’ve been to one of those, then you know what to expect.
My favorite thing here, a single scoop of vanilla frozen custard in a waffle cone… I could die!

This Freddy’s location always has friendly young staff members working here. They are quick and accurate on your orders. The burgers here can be bought in standard #1, #2, etc… format, or customized however you wish. They have a 1000 island type sauce that is on their «Cali» style burger that is pretty good and I get BBQ sauce on the side to add to my double meat steakburger sometimes! The beef patties are thicker than McD’s and have good flavor. The fries are very thin shoestring cut and quite tasty, though a little annoying if you are a heavy ketchup user. The frozen custard is quite delicious, but gets a little pricey in addition to the Dbl meat, super-​sized grub you have already devoured. Definitely not a .99 cent heart attack!
