Don’t go here if you are in any type of hurry because the service is so very slow. I’ve been in this location several times and even if there’s only a couple people in line it will take a long time for someone to assist you. The food is good but you get charged extra for sour cream and guacamole, which for sour cream is ridiculous.

Freebirds is never meant to be the best meal you’ve ever had but if you are looking for a quality fast-casual meal, this place is a good option to have close to home. The parking is tight and is shared with other stores in the strip mall. It can get a little treacherous so come prepared if you have a larger car. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a great covered outdoor patio area to eat when the temperature isn’t terribly hot. The staff are usually working hard to get the customers through the line in a timely manner. I do have two complaints with them though. On three occasions at this location, I was unable to hear what they were saying to me. I don’t know if the dining area is too loud or the equipment is loud but it was very hard to hear what the staff were saying. I also didn’t like how during my first trip to this restaurant, it felt like I was expected to know what every topping and burrito filling option was. I had to ask at every stop to figure out what everything was. This went away after going there a few times and getting into a routine. As for the food, I’ve only had the burritos. The ingredients are always quality and warm and seem to pair together very well. The steak is never chewy, the chicken is grilled perfectly, and the ground beef(only available in Texas) is seasoned very well. These and other options are stuffed into a tortilla until it looks like it is going to burst for a very modest price. I was happy with the amount of food I got for the money. Overall, this place is a good fast-casual burrito option. I was pleased with the interesting and quality ingredients that make the burritos better than other burrito shops around the country. I would recommend this place and I look forward to coming back to try some other combinations and items other than burritos.

Food is good hear, but between the up charges for toppings and $ 2.25 for a drink it is definitely over priced. This location in particular is ALWAYS short handed so even if they don’t look busy don’t go here if you’re in a hurry. In the girl’s defense, she told my wife and I that it was extra for Guac and sour cream, I should have asked how much as it was $ 1.75 for Guac and $ 1 for sour cream, add the $ 2.25 per drink and my sons $ 6.80 plain cheese quesadilla and I left feeling light on the pocket for what I had received. I want to love Freebirds as Chipotle is just too common but I’m tired of average service and being nickel and dimed. Probably won’t be back, definitely not to this location.

I’ve been to 3 San Antonio locations and this one is my favorite! they are super clean, extremely friendly, and very delicious! I have a Free Birds closer to where I live but I always drive a little bit further just to come here! Every time we come here the employees are helpful. When they aren’t helping guest, they stay busy cleaning. This Freebirds is very clean and organized. You don’t see brownies or random items of food behind them on the shelf. The food is fresh and yummy! I never regret anything I order here. I always and will always drive the extra few miles to make sure I get fresh food in a place I know is clean served by a friendly staff.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a freebirds. Now I’ve remembered why. I loved, loved that they had grass-fed steak on their menu! .until I actually ate it. It was too chewy that I spit out some of the meat. It wasn’t just the steak I got turned off by, it was the other ingredients too. Something about my burrito just didn’t taste good. It was bland, generic. basically TASTELESS. The environment was, of course, nice as all freebirds. Nice location. It was kindve empty, which was a plus for us because we hate waiting anywhere. but probably not for business… eh. I wish wish freebirds would have better ingredients to improve the taste quality!(P.s. I’m not one who eats tons of salt and sugar.)

I’m not a huge Freebird guy(chipotle is my place for burritos) But this location is probably the nicest I have been to. Every since the bowl size for their bowls changed I have found that I have been having much more filling meals from here. Today I had a simple chicken bowl with a mess of toppings. Pretty good. But it also has been a while since my last Freebird meal where cockroaches were all over the floor. This was in college station tx. Not here. Couple flaws with Freebird in general. Adding charges for something like sour cream. Guac … That’s understandable. But sour cream?!? C’mon. I’ll make another trip here in the future to see if it stays up to par.

Tonight I finally tried the burrito at Freebirds. I know, where have I been? Usually I order salads or kids quesadillas but today my boyfriend and I had a coupon for buy one get one free burrito. Let me tell you how awesome it was. First, the staff were super friendly and they explained the different toppings and sauces we could get. I chose a wheat tortilla with ground beef, Spanish rice, black beans, mixed cheese, pico de gallo, corn salsa, lettuce and guacamole. Second, we had our BOGO coupon so our total was only $ 14 for the two of us(that included drinks). Third, the food tasted AMAZING. It was so good. Now I know why everyone in college was so obsessed with burritos all the time. Also those burritos could easily be two meals, so that’s a win win. To top it all off they were playing Spice Girls on the radio. Zig-a-zig-a!

First time really friendly place. Wasn’t sure on the menu the order taker was happy to explain it to me opinions and suggestions and her dislikes which I love. I hate walking into place and hearing everybody loves it and it ends up being horrible my food is really good except my chips were really salty for my taste. When I went up to let them know manager standing behind the employee and said with a smile be happy to make some more just like that. That’s customer service will bring my family back thanks!

Chipotle continues to win this battle. Went in for dinner on a Tuesday night. Almost empty restaurant. Friendly staff but we felt very rushed when ordering though no other customers were in line. I hadn’t dined at Freebirds for quite some time and needed a few seconds to checkout the ingredients but I must say, the team member that attempted to help me didn’t hide her short patience. It’s not like I was taking forever, just needed a second. No need to sigh or roll your disgusting eyes. If customer service isn’t your thing, it’s ok… do yourself and your employer a favor and be a software engineer. Nacho plate had very small portions of meat. Keep an eye on your order because there are extra charges for a lot of things and they add up very quickly. Not worth the upgrades. I swear it was like 1 out of every 4 things I had pointed at had an additional cost to it. I’m exaggerating but it felt that way as each item I selected was followed with an extra cost. The rice was soggy?! Bummer. They were out of Pepsi when we were there. Ironic because their cups have the Pepsi logo on it. They have a brand of peace, love and burritos but the brand can only carry you so far if the food or customer service isn’t great. The dining area is adorned with tin foil art made by customers. I recommend the staff remove the ones with dust or wipe them down. Just wasn’t a great experience all around.

First and last time at this place. I ordered my kids chicken and CHEESE quesadillas. They each had probably a teaspoonful of cheese. The chicken was burnt and dry. I had a chicken burrito and it was good. My husbands chicken burrito was super dry and most of his chicken was black. When I went in to pick up my order I stood there for a few minutes waiting while employees behind the counter socialized. Then my drinks were left out of the kids meals. The lady ran after me out of the door and asked if I still wanted them. Of course I want the drinks I paid for. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. I gave it a 2 star because one item we ordered was good. The rest went in the trash. Waste of money.

The ingredients always look and taste fresh. I ordered online once and they had everything ready to go when I got there, though I usually order in person and eat at the restaurant. The employees and a gentleman that I assume to be the manager always greet me with a smile and have been very nice. My only complaint is that the background music is a bit loud and it makes it a little tough to hear the folks making my burrito.

I dunno… I’m not fully convinced. I think I still like Chipotle better. It’s not that Freebirds is bad, I’m just used to the other burrito place. I dig the Spanish rice option and fresh cilantro … However I prefer the flavors that Chipotle uses. FB also wins with the melted mixed cheese … I love ooey gooey cheese! So I’m torn… This is only my 2nd visit to a FB. It’s close to my new home so maybe they’ll get me to cross over… I honestly thought this was a Chipotle. Staff was friendly, store was clean :-)

I LOVETHISFREEBIRDS! Without a doubt, our favorite one in the area. We just moved to the other side of town, but will continue to go to this location. My 2 year old knows this location so well that when we pull into the Target he asks if we can go to Freebirds. The staff is great — very social and funny. The food always seems to taste better here. :) The dining room is always clean. The bathroom is always clean, too, which is a perk!

Compared to Chipotle, it’s ok. Pricey in my opinion. It’s good when you’re starving. Nothing from here blows my mind. I like that they have Spanish rice and refried beans. It’s a wannabe hipster chain. Customer service isn’t much to talk about, kinda rude to be honest. I got dirty looks from their manager when I asked about receiving their free kids meal if you order an adult meal. After(over) paying for four«adult» freebird burritos, they looked at me as if I spit in their face when asking about their«free kids meal» deal(which was a tiny version of their burritos).

We frequent this freebirds quite a bit. The manager(Naomi) is awesome. We always get fantastic service from them, and of course, they have a military discount. The only thing that would make freebirds better is if they had coke, and not pepsi. I am a freebirds guy, and not a chipotle guy, so there it is.(In my friends and my arguments about the subject, we figured it to be the old mcdonalds vs BK and coke vs. pepsi argument.) I think their food and selection is better. Their meat is far superior, which i think makes it. If you don’t like a noisy environment, it probably isn’t for you. It is always more quiet outside. They get a 4 for me, which is good, I don’t just hand out the 5’s.

I would give 5* just based on the staff and brownies. Five stars for their outstanding service, friendliness and assistance. My first visit was a little overwhelming in trying to understand the options and process. I told the server it was my first time and he patiently and cheerfully explained all my options and his recommendations. Outside seating area was nice except for the heavy traffic coming in and out of the shopping plaza was distracting. I also thought it was nice that they were accepting household goods donations for a local charity and that they give a rewards card. Food wasn’t that great though, IMO. I prefer chipotle but am willing to give it another try, maybe experiment with different options. I would come back though just for the brownies. Holy mother, they are fantastic!!!

This freebirds location SUCKS! The person that made our food moved slower than molasses and had absolutely no idea what he was doing! Don’t you know that you’re supposed to melt the cheese and the meat into the quesadilla in order to have the ingredients stay IN the quesadilla?!? Not to mention that by the time I actually got to eat my tacos, they were f’n cold. Screw this place, I’m sticking with Chipotle!

This particular Freebird’s location is awesome! I usually order online and quickly pick up my food. The burritos/bowls/salads/nachos are made-to-order with a variety of choices and combinations– Spanish/white rice, beans, veggies, meats, salsas, etc. I find that their ingredients, most notably the meat, is higher quality than *COUGH* other burrito chains/competitors. Their queso and guacamole are great as sides. You can Rev up your order to a combo that includes chips & queso or salsa and a beverage. The staff is also exceptional. Always super friendly and accommodating. Be sure to join their Freebird Fanatic club(loyalty rewards program) to receive points for each purchase and also a few special deals throughout the year(double points, half-birthday burrito, etc.).

Freebirds is pretty awesome! I grew up eating burritos in Los Angeles and these are good! They have fresh ingredients. They will make the burrito for you, just tell em what you want on it. They have 4 burrito sizes. The biggest is called the SUPERMONSTER. You can imagine how big it is. They have good chips & salsa. They even sell beer :) Its very cool and relaxed atmosphere. People use the aluminum foil from their burrito to make little figures and they are all over the restuarant. They also have an outside patio at this location.
