The chicken, rolls and fries are good but don’t go there if you are in a hurry. Between my daughter and I, we have been here 3 times and EVERYTIME its been a 20 minute plus wait and it’s not a matter of being crowded. This last time I finished eating and my daughter hadn’t received her food. They completely forgot to bring it to her.

Have never tried this place before and still haven’t. All though I tried today, waiting in a drive thru line for over 10 min is not my definition of fast food. Took to long to not only take my order but the short line I waited in for over 10 min. Decided to leave and go down the street to chickfila. You would think with all the chicken competition in that area they would step it up some. Never see a long line and now I know why. Either it’s crappy food, service or others went some where else to get other chicken with better service.

Friendly staff and good food. Always had a good experience and place is clean. They do close on time though so not late orders :)

This place served us cold food, order was not correct for all 4 people in our party. Staff is poorly trained at best! Stay away, McDonalds is a better choice!!!

Not sure why all the negative reviews but I eat at this location about 3 times per month and always enjoy their chicken, especially their baked chicken… really tasty, it melts in your mouth and the spices are perfect. I did once have an order of okra that probably sat too long but when I told them about it, they apologized and made me a new order, dropped fresh and boy was it tasty. So now when I go and order okra, I ask for fresh drop and it’s always hot and crunchy, the best! The other item that I order is their home-made chicken salad sandwich that’s put in-between two of their homemade soft rolls. It’s to die for. Ok now I’m hungry just writing this so I guess you know where I’m heading off too? Golden Chick of course. Please ignore the negative reviews, this restaurant location is really good and consistent 99% of the time. One side note: My two girls love their free unlimited creamy ice-cream cones, you just can’t beat that. Some days we’ll make root beer floats instead. Yummy!

The food has greatly improved since the last time we were here. This time, we wanted to try their fried catfish which was excellent. They use a cornbread batter which had a nice flavor and crunch. My sides of okra and corn tasted much more fresh this time. The rolls… OMG! If you have a weakness foe bread, this is your place to go. They’re warm, soft, and buttery. If it wasn’t so bad for you, I would eat a dozen in a heartbeat. Keep up the good wotk guys!

Ate there for lunch today, don’t have one in Az. So coming back from San Antonio we stopped! They have fried catfish too but had to try the chicken, I thought it was good and crispy! The rolls are warm and soft! I had battered fries, hubby had fried okra, both good! The ice tea was very good, not cloudy, and tasted fresh I’d eat here again if I ever came this way again!

Not good food. Expected a tender as good as canes or bushes and got more like a Wendy’s chicken or McDonald’s. Will not return to eat this cheaply made food.

While their chicken is tasty, they overcook it. The spicy option is a joke — they just sprinkle some super-salty seasoning packets over the top and call it «spicy». Their mashed potatoes are often gross because the gravy has soured. Their okra is so overcooked that the batter is sticky and chewy. Their mac & cheese has no flavor, and they usually forget my biscuit from the box. I’d rather spend my money a few miles up the road at Chicken Express where I can pay the same amount and get more chicken and better quality sides.

I lived in Austin near a Golden Chick and tried it once or twice in the 10 years I lived there because the fried chicken was horrible. I tried to try it when they opened here because of the grilled chicken, figured that could not be that bad, wrong! It was horrible. Mother dirty rice was a little better then horrible. The bun was good.

Went with a couple of coworkers one day for lunch. We wanted something quick since we had a limited time and decided on Golden chick. Most of us had never been so went with something«safe» and got the chicken strips combo with fries and a drink. Who could mess up chicken strips, right? Wrong!!! The chicken strips were horrible! So dry and tough. I could hardly take a bite! Definitely seemed like the food had been sitting under heat lamps for a while and was not made to order. so the breading/coating on the chicken was hard. Even tried taking the breading off to eat only the chicken, but like I said, it had been sitting under the heat too long so it was too dry and tough also. I could understand if the restaurant was busy, then yes, make a bigger amount of food ahead of time to avoid long wait times for the guests. But, THEPLACEWASEMPTY… why cook everything in advance and leave it under a heat lamp? Idk. It was so disappointing. The fries weren’t even fresh! Such a shame. Will not be going back.

I went for a drive through today for the small business Saturday. It was spend over $ 10 get $ 10 statement credit. Ordered 6 chicken tenders with gravy and fries and a drink, plus an additional serving of fries and three cookies. Well, I was in a mood for french fries. What I received are 10 chicken tenders, gravy, a bum, and five random french fries and three cookies. Sure you can blame it was also my fault for didn’t check the order before driving away. I was at the busy 281 until I noticed the drink is missing, and I didn’t notice they totally screw up my order until I got home. I figure since I really only spend 1dollar and some change, it is not worth for the trip back. But the biggest problem is the food is terrible. The chicken tender is like a tiny bit chicken coated with thick flour batter, it was very dry. I have to say it is the worst fry chicken I ever had. The cookie is wrapped in plastic wraps, doesn’t look fresh to me. I don’t like bread, so not going to comment on the bum. And gravy is ok. Overall, terrible experience. Not worth my 1 dollar plus changes. Will not go back ever.
