Part of the trick here is taking time to read the menu, and choosing how to order. For example: today I was craving chicken, as in a light lunch. Sure enough, they offer a $ 5.49 ¼ chicken + salad + drink plate — which I ordered. The chicken was perfectly cooked — we prefer dark meat, and mine came tasty, moist and hot, with a bowl of sauce on the side for dipping. They keep the salads on chilled plates in the cooler, so matter the heat of the day, your salad(well, okay, your lettuce) is crisp. I thought maybe the chilled plate would take away from the heat of the chicken, but nope, all was as should be, the hot was hot and the cold was cold, and my iced tea was perfect. Not long ago I was craving nothing so much as mac and cheese, so I dropped in for a take out carton of what turned out to be some of the best M&C I’ve had in ages. Cheesy, moist, tasty — yeah, I liked it. So basically, I need to figure that my first review did not reflect my entire experience of this place — except for one thing: the friendliness of the staff. Every time I’ve been in(about 6 times now), and no matter who’s on the counter, they treat me as though I’m important to them, and they want me to have a good experience. Thanks, Grady’s. I’m a fan.

Had been going to Grady’s for years to have the baked potato with chopped brisket on it. Went there a few weeks ago and had a delicious chopped brisket sandwich. Went back the other day for another one and the girl screwed up my order while trying to be friendly and not listening. I almost returned it when I thought what the heck and ate the sliced brisket sandwich. Thick cuts of brisket, moist, tender. with just the right smount of sauce and a wonderful roll. The brisket was cooked perfectly with that dark, crispy top. I have eaten at Cooper’s in Llano, always rated in the top three by every magazine or poll, and this was just that great. Never better folks, never better…

This pass weekend me and the wife were doing some running around for the kids. We were trying to figure out what to eat and stumbled across Grady’s. We went in was not busy at all maybe 2 other people in there as well. First thing I notice is it very warm in here. So I ordered the 2 meat plate and my wife ordered chicken tenders. BBQ was decent wasn’t all that, kind of lacked flavor. My wife tenders were cold and her fries were cold as well. Not to mention their drinks had an odd taste to it. Overall was not impressed. First and last time.

Grady’s is an embarrassment to BBQ. I ordered the rib meal for $ 8.99 and had the driest pork rib I have ever had. The sauce was okay, but that doesn’t give the fatty dry meat a pass. As a BBQ joint, you have to provide at least 1 type of meat that isn’t a joke. I won’t even speak on the dry, flavorless beans or the potato salad that I spit out. I have gotten BBQ from gas stations that cost $ 5 a plate that were better than this. So please avoid this knock off bill millers and do not give your money to this careless lot of fools. You would be better off eating what is in their grease traps as opposed to their menu items.

been eating on and off at Gradys for a while, it’s always just OK, nothing great, but I just left tonight and boy was it off, had a CFS that was so salty,(I mean SALTY), it was inedible, green beans cold and loaded with fatty bacon, even the salad sucked, drowning in waaaay to much dressing. I picked up a piece of coconut crème pie on the way thru the line,(4 customers in the whole place btw). The pie was warm and had a grainy texture, tasted sour bad like it’s been sitting out all day… in short, the whole meal was not fit for a dog. It will be ages, maybe never before I go back to Gradys. It was a little after 8PM and there were at least 10 tables that needed to be bussed… none were while I was there… Management, staff, food quality, all fail here… Too bad this place is going downhill so fast…

I could be upset to miss the spicy pulled pork special and went with the chooped beef sandwich instead. It was alright and I didnt like the toasted roll-bread. I have had better meals at Grady’s.

Honestly, the only reason I’m giving Grady’s two stars is because the okra there is top notch! Other than that, the brisket I ordered was pure fat and tasteless, only to be soaked in BBQ sauce to hide those facts. I probably should have gone to Bill Millers.

You must try the Catfish with a side of Cream Corn always a must when you dine in or take out. You can’t go wrong with combo.

There’s a convenient Take Out/Pick Up door on the side of the restaurant. The staff is friendly and it was only a short wait after my order. I would definitely go back for the catfish. The ribs were just okay. A bit on the salty side. I’ve gotten better at Fry’s. The potato salad and coleslaw were average and a bit on the watery side.

I think Bill Millers has better bbq. However, it doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy Gradys as well. I recently had the spicy pulled pork sandwich. It did not disappoint on the spicy. One qualm it got to be too much towards the end of the meal. I think if it had a touch of something sweet would make the sandwich. The fried chicken is seriously weak sauce! Other than that Grady’s is not a bad decision for a quick lunch!

I think this place is a step down from bill Miller’s for sure. .brisket is gristly and rubbery. Bathrooms are small and smelly. Lots of open space for the kids to run around in though.

The sides were good but I would be embarrassed to serve the ribs they served me… Dry, brittle, just NOT good at all. I guess if you order take out that they are going to give you the oldest ribs in the restaurant.

Garbage! Cold food. It would not have been good if it was hot.
