Super fun place with great food and live music. It is seat yourself and community tables, both make this place very laid back. However people go there to chill out so if it is especially crowded seating may be difficult if you have a group.
Our food was great — I had the jeager schnitzel. It is a pork cutlet pounded thin and lightly breaded. Sauce was a thick mushroom sauce — I could have used more!
My inlaws had the schnitzel with egg, which has a fried egg instead of sauce. Also Ruben which I tried and was great. And my wife had a sandwich she liked.
Our service was pretty sucky — but anyone can have an off night.
The music was a classic rock band but our friends who go there a lot prefer when they have German music.
It is hard to pull off being a fun place and a good restaurant. Gustavs pulls it off. On balance this is five stars as a place to hang out, drink and listen to music and four stars as restaurant.
