Wonderful accommodations! The best part of the stay was the service provided by the staff. This is certainly a well managed facility focused on providing customers with the comfort and amenities needed. I will definitely stay here on my next trip to San Antonio.

Stayed here last month for 1 night. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Excellent service and the breakfast at the on-site Citrus restaurant was very good!(Our waiter, on the other hand, is the one exception as he was actually overtly rude and we couldn’t figure out why.) This hotel is directly on the Riverwalk and offers a view of the Riverwalk from some rooms. Hotel has a modern and chic décor and we had a corner room so it was very spacious. It’s worth the extra couple of bucks to stay here versus the cheaper options, like Embassy Suites a block away, due to Hotel Valencia having the prime location. I have also personally stayed at the Courtyard next door which was nice, but Hotel Valencia’s vibe gives you a unique feel of truly being on vacation since it’s not your run-of-the-mill hotel. Service is great!

I received a call today from the assistant manager explaining his actions and apologizing that my evening was not the best it could be. He also gave me a partial refund. I appreciate the fact that he listened. That says a lot. We will be back. Next year they will get a different floor or make sure people know the rules. Apologies go a long way worth me.

Checked in for the weekend on a Friday evening and checked out on Sunday morning just before noon. We used valet for our car, which was expensive but we decided it was the best option for us since we didn’t want leave our car in an unattended lot. The guys who took my car and retrieved it were prompt and helpful. When you walk in on the street level, the mood is set; dimly lit, fountains, dark colors and an overall sophisticated lounge atmosphere. The check in counter is on the second floor behind the stairwell, which is oddly placed, but check it was a breeze and we were off to our room. We were on the fourth floor in the far corner with a small balcony overlooking the river, and restaurant below. The room was very masculine with the décor, large pieces and leather. I really liked the style. The bed and pillows were super comfortable, we slept like babies. The bathroom was pretty standard, and had standard amenities. The only complaint there is that there is no fan in the bathroom, so it got overly steamy. We ordered room service for breakfast, they had a card available to order the night before for delivery at a specified time. Came on time, and hot. He got an omelet which he really enjoyed and I got the«American breakfast» which was also great. The pappas bravas(seasoned potatoes) were our favorite part! It only took about 2 minutes to walk to where everything was happening at the riverwalk. It’s a perfect location and a little more quiet that the hotels in the bar area! There are only 2 cons for our stay; one was that there was not an easy exit from the hotel to the river, we had to go through the restaurant/bar area, down a stairwell and then through another restaurant and down — unless there was an easier way we weren’t directed to; second, Saturday morning starting pretty early they were power washing the restaurant level floors(outside) and it was very loud in our room. We wondered if it was just a daily thing, but Sunday morning it didn’t happen. Why would you choose a Saturday morning to power wash? Overall we were very, very please with our stay, we will definitely be back!

Exceptional. That is my 1 word to describe the hospitality, professionalism and quality of this hotel and their staff. Of course I’m a big Unilocaler I checked the reviews for all of the hotels before making my choice. I teetered back and forth between Valencia & La Mansion. The gut said Valencia and after this trip I couldn’t have been happier with my decision. As always my trips are not only random but impulsive. Weathers perfect so San Antonio it is. Hotel Valencia is located right on the Riverwalk so I requested a river view. Couldn’t get out of town until late so we showed up at the hotel at around 10. The bellhop greeted us warmly, insisted on taking our baggage and walked us through on where and how to get checked in. He staid by our side the entire time and escorted us to our room. Making chitchat in the elevator we discovered that this young gentleman was already checked out for the evening but opted to stay and give us a hand. Remarkable! We stayed on the top floor and our corner room had a nice view of the river. The room was impressive, dark wood floors and matching plantain shutters, 2 of the pillars were an earthly golden stain and plenty of space for a king bed, lounge chair and desk area. You know what else was impressive a full size mirror. The gf had more usage ideas that I but that’s how women think. There was a large flat screen tele on the walls FB it was equipped with cable and HBO. Bathroom was decent sized but only fits 1 comfortably, minus the tub of course I think you might be able to squeeze a 3rd in there if your nights going well. Here’s how awesome the employees are… Unfortunately my girlfriend couldn’t remember the name of the young gentleman that helped her but anytime she wanted something he was there. She has this particular way about her coffee and this young man brought her back to the employee lounge 2 days in a row so that she could have her coffee her way. She wanted a microwave, he went and found one and brought it to the room. No matter where we were in the hotel, every employee was more than hospitable. Every employee greeted us with an extremely warm hello. There wasn’t one person that had a bad attitude. One of the most exceptional employees we had the pleasure of dealing with was Aaron. Great attitude and a great personality! Anything you needed or wanted Aaron was there. we needed a cab and Aaron got us connected with an amazing individual by the name of Adele who far exceeded our expectations as a cab driver. We were fortunate to snag him for the couple days we were there and have him drive us all over the city. Remarkable man. Aaron really knows San Antonio — restaurants, points of interest, nightlife, etc… Of course I did my typical review search before I came so we had some key places picked out but Aaron told us about some gems only locals know. Talk to this person… ask for this or that… Aaron kicked our trip up to the next level. There’s a wall of ornamental oranges by a local artist and if your anyone in the limelight you’ve probably stayed here. You know the type of people I’m talking about. They are needy individuals with exceptional and sometimes demanding taste so if this fine establishment can cater to them get ready to have your socks knocked off. I know that I’m a legend in my spare time but these guys made me feel like a rockstar!

Visited here on 12⁄27 and must say the hotel is actually nice looking and had a comfortable bed. Yes the pillows are just a tad bit soft but they were okay. We arrived around 3pm for check in and was told«there’s a waiting list, and that there’s 17 people ahead of us.» Which is weird since we reserved the room two days in advance. We came back to the front desk an hour later and were told 3 more were ahead of us. The 3rd time the very attractive receptionist Destiny told us she would give us free drink vouchers. We preceded to use the vouchers and learned they were only good for $ 10. We finally got our room about 5pm. So are day was pretty much wasted. May stay here again but think I’ll try a different hotel next time, we stay in beautiful San Antonio.

I had high expectations going in, unfortunately they weren’t met. We stayed for one night and although our dinner at Citrus and our breakfast was delivered on time and delicious, the rest of the hotel was mediocre for the price. The room was decent. Loved the style, all the counter space, and the huge mirror! Everything worked well and it was clean. Here are the issues I had with the hotel: 1) Before we came, I called to find out about parking, we live in SA, this was just a night for fun with friends. Chose the option to «keep my place in line, and have someone from Valencia call me back.» Nobody ever called me back. Self parking is down the street and $ 18 per night. Valet is $ 34 per night. 2) No luggage racks in the room. 3) Called around midnight for some food from the 24 hour room service that was offered. Nobody answered the phones! We tried all the extension because I also couldn’t figure out the heat. Nobody home. 4) The lay out of the place is a little different. The reception desk is on the second floor, which is fine but it’s unclear when you walk in. No one there to tell you this and no signs. another guest told us where to go after going the wrong way. 5) I was also unimpressed with the uniform and general look of the housekeepers. They looked unkept and unprofessional. For the price, I just wasn’t impressed. Perhaps because I’m from Las Vegas I just expect better service. Or perhaps it was the holidays(the week between Christmas and NYE) and most of the staff is on vacation. maybe

Hotel Valencia is my favorite hotel in San Antonio. I love Citrus Restaurant and Vbar. The atmosphere is great and you simply can’t beat the location –right on the Riverwalk! The hotel is clean and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. I can’t wait until our next visit. :)

Stayed here with my husband for our anniversary. And it was AMAZING! Most memorable stay at a hotel! Loved everything about it. Staff is so friendly and accommodating! Rooms are maintained clean and the views are awesome. I have had room service breakfast at hotels before but let me just say that they have the BEST breakfast. We didn’t even bother leaving hotel to eat breakfast. It was that good. Enjoyed drinks at the Vbar located inside hotel and lunch at Citrus Restaurant. All excellent! Will be staying here every time I am in town!

The valets were very friendly and always quick to open my door and ask if I needed assistance. I love that! Expensive– but worth it. The front entrance was swank and mysterious and sexy– all at once– reds and blacks with a cascading wall of water in the center with stairwells on both sides. The check in is on the second floor. I noticed a beautiful pool area and a nice sitting area outdoors, but I didn’t experience them firsthand. The hotel was pricey for the area and what it offered, but I was not too experienced in the area, and it’s right on the river, so it sounded nice. The hubs hated the bed. I thought it was ok. It was sunken in the middle a bit, but I wasn’t expecting a Heavenly Bed. The room was fairly large, with a huge wide hallway leading to the main sleeping area. Our rooms usually weren’t cleaned until later at night, so a couple times when we stopped back in, we were sad to see the towels not replaced. One night it wasn’t cleaned at all, but when it was, there were plenty of towels and washcloths– which is great. The best part is the shower. Holy water pressure! It was a wonderful warm massage every time! Loved that!!! Also, the soaps smelled amazing! I love the orange-citrus-vanilla scent! The internet was VERY slow. Very slow. The location is great if you like to explore Riverwalk. My advice– if you have a nice purse– leave it in the room– I almost had it snatched a couple times– no joke– there are gangs of dudes just waiting to snag nice purses… lol. I walked back up to the room– dropped my purse off and threw on a sweatshirt– problem solved. My hubs says next time we are staying at a well known hotel– but if you like boutique style hotels like i do that aren’t cookie cutter– this is a decent one.

Whether or not this hotel’s style suits your taste, it is undeniable that this hotel has personality. The hotel uses wood window panels, illuminated fountains and a maze like entrance towards the bedroom to create a sense of seclusion. The lobby is well designed and so are some of the details in the hallway and room. The river view room is not incredibly impressive however, since the hotel is 1) in an angle to the river, 2) the wood window panels block the view, 3) the windows are relatively small. Also the bathroom feels tranquil but the space is fairly small. If you don’t want a typical Texas or commercial chain-like atmosphere, you should try this out!

I hardly go on here and give a review on anything however I am beyond disappointed at this place. I was charge over $ 600 for 3 days when I live in LA and I know our hotels are not even that expensive. No breakfast included of course, valet parking was $ 36 a night(oh they do include taxes) plus no housekeeping my whole stay there. Will definitely not book there anymore. I’ will stick to the Marriott as I have had in the past Oh and payed over $ 600 for a room with no view. All I could see was the parking garage across the street.

Great ambiance, décor, service, food, bed, shampoo/lotion, coffee, blackout curtains, music, drinks… love it. I am not easily impressed but have to commend them for a well kept secret… which is likely not good. I google ‘best hotels’ in San Antonio every time I come down(5 times a year easily) and this hotel never pops up… shocking. Really enjoyed my stay and appreciated the thought they put into the little details: the guitarist on my way to the lobby was a great touch(although I understand he is only there in Wed nights), the raw squares if sugar — don’t know why but though that was cool, an interesting bar menu… but Citrus. OMG. Those scallops were cooked to perfection. The view from the restaurant balcony on a comfortable evening was stunning. I would rate it more of a 4.5 only because their parking fee if 30.00 is a bit outrageous. Besides that, I hope to be back. It was a nice respite from mediocre coffee and bland eggs in the morning on the way out to a crazy road trip through South Texas.

This hotel was really a great place to stay. I have been to San Antonio before, but never to the river walk area. It is not directly on the Riverwalk, however it is pretty close. Just a 0.2 mile walk to the stairs to the river walk. This hotel has dim lighting and a very classy vibe. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. I slept pretty well and I typically don’t sleep well in a hotel. The only two issues I had with the room is that the last person that flushed the toilet, the paper did not flush all the way so there was a little toilet paper in the toilet when I got in. Also, my room was overlooking the street on the 4th floor and there were double decker red buses below with people loading on. You could hear the bus drive making announcements pretty clearly. However I was working from the room during the day and I assume these tours don’t go through the night. While I was there I ordered room service. Typically room service is hit or miss. I had the turkey club sandwich and it was great. They probably get service right from the restaurant below. The food was a little higher quality than you normally find for room service. Overall, had a great stay. Beds were very comfortable.

So over rated. I expected so much more. The look of the hotel was great, but the staff and service was disappointing. I rarely give bad reviews, but this experience was just inexcusable. They were out of just about everything on their menu for Room Service — food and drink; when I ordered the house salad with grilled chicken — i received a completely different«house salad» than what was described on their printed menu in the room with no chicken; room service was always at least an hour wait, no matter what you’d order; they never fully restocked the snacks and drinks in the room; they would often miss cleaning things in the bathroom; went to have breakfast at their Citrus restaurant — was greeted at the table extremely late, we ordered on the first encounter with our waiter(2 omelettes, toast & coffee) and let him know we were in a bit of hurry and had to leave in an 45min. we had a guest join us who was never even greeted, given water, or offered coffee — he left after waiting 20min. we finally walked out as the 50min mark rolled by and we were forced to leave with no breakfast. The best tip about this place: the front door team was always on their game 110% solid effort, I never once opened a door or had to hail a cab.
