Horrible service. Manager is total jerk. Wouldn’t seat us because one person wasn’t with our group. Absolutely ridiculous!

Karrell is by far THEABSOLUTEBEST server I’ve ever had in my life. She is very sweet and makes sure the customer is happy and gets what they want. It’s been a long time since I’ve had such great service and Karrell beyond exceeded my expectations on what great service is. I hope everyone is lucky enough to experience having her as a server.

OMGOLLY !! well I cant review their food cuz we didnt even get that far… walked in on a friday at five pm to have the omlette deal… hell. one couple waiting on food and one other man finishing up his meal… at counter a short round woman whos face we never saw nor did she acknowledge us… she was on phone … leaning on the back counter behind register … never greeted us or say anything when I repeatedly tried to get her attention. after five mins of this I was over the edge and saw couple waiting to be served looking. so I went over to their table and asked them if they been waiting a long time… they said yes and couldnt even get a coffee refill… they too said that round woman who I can only know by her butt had been on the phone the whole time they had been there. no other waiters or anyone could be seen. … so I just said to her butt thankyou for your lack of service said it twice nothing she didnt move… then as we went out door and I looked back she got off phone and took the one fellas money for his meal… wow,. money is her ticket… if this is service I can only imagine what the meal would of been like… I sure the folks who were waiting their food came out cold and probably been sitting waiting on her call to be over… I am floored. I called back after going down the street where I got excellent service and food at china harbor. spoke to assistant manager david best who was floored too… he offered to buy me a meal to try again when hes in the building … I dont know, I am sure this goes on alot and only wanta give the butt lady a boot. shame on her and I hope her day is ruined as mine was by her actions… thank gosh that china sea took great care of me and treated me. I dont know if I will go back and let them try to fix this… I do know I will not forget that treatment and tell all the olé peeps round the apartment complex of the scene… maybe they get there heads out and really do something about this !!! shame on butt lady

This place has no management whatsoever. Employees yelling and screaming in the back talking to each other, talking about idiotic things, answering cell phone calls on the floor next to our table, waiters sitting with customers they personally know while working, very unprofessional location. This place needs a bar rescue of sorts but for IHOP.

I cannot recommend this place. I suggest you go to the Denny’s not too far away off of 281. From the time we walked in, were seated, the long wait for the server to take our order … everything was just bad. The food was standard for IHOP, but, again there is a service problem at this location. Probably the only reason it’s still around is a lack of competition.

Weve been to this IHOP a few times and it’s finally time to write a review. The store itself is dirty. During Yesterday’s Visit there was a bucket of nasty mop water right next to the cashier station. I know they cleaned up a spill in the front lobby when we entered the building, however 40 minutes later when I went to the bathroom I almost tripped over it and it smelled disgusting. The food is always lukewarm at best. Yesterday they were out of ranch dressing okay asked for Italian. None of that either. Asked for 2 other types of dressing and the waiter comes back and says all we have in the store is Caesar. Really?! The only reason I’m offering 2 stars is because during our many trips there they’ve always accommodated our 9 person party and we’ve always had a funny waiter/waitress… Non necessarily an on top of this waiter/waitress, a funny one.

Typical IHOP, and on a Sunday morning it was busy but had no long waits. Service was good and it’s kid friendly. If you’re looking for predictability instead of local flavor, this should be on your list.

This location is my most favorite ihop location in the city. The food is good quality for a fair price. The service here it’s superior to other north San Antonio locations. The restaurant itself also appears cleaner than other locations as well. The only down side to this restaurant is that it’s location makes it difficult to get to unless you are traveling west on 1604.

I ate here yesterday. Never again. I realize this is not a 5-star restaurant, but even at IHOP I expect clean silverware and hairless food. My friend’s fork had something blue stuck to it – it looked like gum. Her meal had a long hair in it. And our cup of maple syrup also had a hair in it(a short one, but hair nonetheless). The bright side is that our server was fantastic — prompt service and a pleasant disposition. I’ll endure the hour-long wait at Magnolia Pancake Haus before going back to IHOP.

Food and service were good, or at least on par with any other ihop. The two stars off are for the overwhelming rushed atmosphere. Seriously thought we were going to be asked to leave, and we were only there for about an hour. I had two international friends with me and we were catching up, it would have been nice to be left alone, but we eventually«took the hint» and left.

First off, David is a fantastic manager and the restaurant always has great service and consistently good food. If anyone in the Stone Oak area has had the awful pleasure of eating at the TPC Express nightmare this place has restored my faith in good pancakes and my personal favorite, the big steak omelette. Keep up the great work guys!

It’s IHOP I wasn’t expecting much and that’s about what I got. I ordered the French toast with eggs over easy, sausage and hash browns. It took about 20 minutes for our food to come out and it was cold. Our server only stopped by to drop off our check and never bothered to refill any of our drinks. The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is because the eggs were ok.

I like coming to places like this in the early afternoon hours because I receive more attentive service because it is slow. Our waitress was very personable and the fare was everything we expected. No complaints here!

This is my second time coming here, but only to take advantage of Groupon deals that I purchased. Unfortunately I didn’t have a choice of location because this one is by far the worst IHOP I’ve ever been to. The service is super slow, serve water in dirty glasses, food presentation and taste is lacking. The last time we came in about 7pm and we had this one waiter that was waiting on a table of 20 and two other tables besides us. There was another waiter with only 1 table seated for one. We had to ask 3 times for water from both waiters. But what really took the cake was the nastiness of the bathrooms. OMG, does this place get inspected at all?

This place should be shut down!!! To sum it up… crunchy burnt chunks in pancakes, at least a dozen hairs in the butter and a roach running around under the table. ANDTHEMANAGERWASALSOTHECOOKANDWOULDN’T COMETALKTOME! I took my kids(4yr old boy, 5 yr old girl) to IHOP because they wanted breakfast food for dinner. The place was pretty much dead when we walked in, but it was a pain to get to and most chains I’ve been to in SA have been dead so I didn’t think much. We got our drinks & placed orders — no problem. When the food came out I didn’t think much. Kids got smiley face pancakes, so couldn’t see much around the bananas, strawberries & whipped cream. I ordered International Passport and made a special request for strawberry topping, which isn’t on the menu, and it was granted — so actually a good start. I ate the scrambled eggs, which were a bit chewy, but again this is a dead chain in SA so I didn’t think much. Then I bit into a piece of crêpe. It was crunchy! These are thin pancakes and should be soft — not crunchy! I took a close look & realized that there was burnt junks from the grill all over it! By this time, the kids had eaten the fruit from their pancakes and I could see that half my son’s pancake was pretty black with the junk from the grill. My daughter’s a fast eater and had already cleared away ½ a pancake, but hers actually looked okay. I called the waiter over and explained the problem — that we couldn’t eat the food with the dirty grill stuff on it. I asked for a serving of white toast with butter to make up for the crepes(I didn’t trust them to make anything on the grill again, but I thought this was an acceptable compromise since it seemed like only grill stuff was effected). The waiter apologized and even said he would talk to the cook. I took the«bad» pancake parts away from the kids and let them have their yogurt. I told them if they were still hungry after that they could eat more at home. A few minutes later the waiter came back with dry wheat toast. I can see where white sounds like wheat so I was willing to let that part go — but where’s the butter? I flipped it around and looked at it very closely. I called the waiter over again and asked about the butter. He seemed embarrassed that there wasn’t any butter and took it away to correct it. In the course of talking to him, I found out that the MANAGER was the one doing the cooking. The waiter asked if I wanted to talk to him and I said sure, since he needs to know that customers felt uncomfortable eating the food. The manager wasn’t coming out. The waiter brought back toast with butter and guess what? Yep — THEREWAS A BUNCHOFHAIRONIT!!! Not, oops my hair came loose. This was at least a dozen short little hairs smeared on and rubbed in. It was like the movie Waiting. I don’t want to think about where the hairs came from. I told the waiter and he denied that it was hair(I think he really wanted to believe it wasn’t hair), but he was actually the one to suggest I complain to corporate IHOP. And I will!!! I took pictures of all the food and will post them everywhere I can once I have them on my computer. As soon as I saw the hair I told my kids not to touch any more food or drinks, not even the prepackaged yogurt. While I was waiting once again for the waiter to try to get the manager, my son looked for something that fell under the table and started shouting, «Bug! There’s a bug, mommy! Bug!» I told him to quiet down, but looked to check it out. ITWAS A ROACHABOUT1 — 1 ½ INCHESLONG!!! I tried to get a picture of that too, but it ran away too fast. At this point I rushed my kids out of the booth and over to the register/waiting area. I could hear the waiter yelling across the kitchen from the order window to the Manager/Cook about how I wanted compensation for food we couldn’t eat. The Manager/Cook just continued to hide in the back of the kitchen. The waiter came out and I paid for our drinks and one of the kid’s meals, since we actually consumed some stuff. I asked him why he worked there, since he seemed like a nice young man, and he said Friday is his last day. I let him know that it was definitely hair on the food. He was embarrassed by the burnt and hairy food and the huge roach I told him about and he continuously apologized for each problem. He looked like he couldn’t wait to get out of there either. The only reason I didn’t just walk out without paying is because I’m paranoid about a camera catching my license plate and then I’m getting arrested for a dine & dash. Hopefully corporate will shut down that location and refund what I ended up paying for, since I don’t actually think I should have been charged for anything from that place. I’m completely serious when I say I’m afraid of what we might have actually eaten from there. I wish I would’ve stopped the kids from eating sooner. It’s been 2 hours — at least we don’t have food poisoning

A friend and I came here last night, Sunday around 10PM after we had few drinks. She was craving for pancake, so we came here. We were the only one in the restaurant, we ordered Blue Berry Pancake and chicken/waffle. The food is ok. But the service is just weird. We walked in, no one was in the front, I have to look for the waiter to seat me. My friend didn’t think the silverware was clean, so she cleaned it in the water and then asked the waiter to get a new glass. He took our waters back, and didn’t bring them back for another 10 mins. Again, we were the only ones there. I’m not saying the service is bad, the vibe here is just weird to me, I over heard my waiter and the manager(I assume) were having an argument, so maybe they are having a bad night? I don’t know. All I know is that I will not go out of my way to eat here.

For a decent breakfast when you don’t want to wait at those great places just down the street than have an Hour+ wait… Ihop will do. Had the Waffle and it was ok, bacon wasn’t crispy as I ordered, but I got it sent back and cooked right. One small piece of information was the fact that my plate had a piece of hair on it… now where it came from I have no idea… my hair is long and dark brunette… so a short dark brown hair mysteriously showed up and our waitress didn’t address the issue at all. So many better breakfast places to go to, I only come here when I’m desperate for quick food. It’s just another CHAIN, and I’m sick of chains here in SA. I probably wont be back again.
