My parents and I come here every Sunday for our family breakfast! The service is usually always very polite, never letting our coffee cups get too low, the food comes out great and in a timely manner, and the atmosphere is inviting and comfortable! I look forward to my Sunday breakfast at Jimmy’s Egg!

Seated quickly, but regret coming here for breakfast. The food was flavorless! I ordered the one meat breakfast plate. The chicken fried steak tasted freezer burned and it’s as if they coated it with cracker crumbs and fried it to cover up the taste. It didn’t was super greasy and so were the hashbrowns I ordered… gross! My husband ordered the meat lovers omelet with home fries(bland, bland, bland) no flavor at all. Regret spending $ 30 here on breakfast. Will definitely not be returning ever.:(

Very clean and fresh environment and the food was as well. We went very very early in the morning and had the restaurant to ourselves. The service was cordial and the big glass windows gave us a perfect view of the sun rising. My honey ordered the biscuits and gravy side, the biscuits had that nice crunchy outside and soft inside. I had an egg sandwich on ciabatta with avocado(I’m sure it had a name, California something, but the name escapes me…) and I was very pleased. The portions were great as well, I felt satisfied but not stuffed. i can’t wait to return and try more items from their menu.

Mixed reviews left me reluctant, wanting to try something new we went ahead & tried this place anyway. Pros: waffles perfectly crisp, reasonably priced Cons: I agree with the bad service, our waiter said but 5 words to us not being attentive at all. The staff seemed unhappy to be there, all grimacing without communication amongst each other. Kind of awkward. Not sure what was going on, maybe a reflection of management not sure? Btw: this was the W. Ave location

We wanted to like this place… However, food only looked good and for the most part, service was sloppy. We were promptly seated after a short wait on a Sunday morning. But after that it was a let down. The server wasn’t very helpful and unenthusiastic. The food was a let down. Their milk machine was down, sweet tea was WAYTOO sweet, the hash browns were soggy, the bacon was unnecessarily fatty, and the scrambled eggs were quite over cooked. While the waffles and the«dollar» style pancakes were good, they weren’t great — and not enough to merit coming back just for them. Their other dishes could be good, who knows, just dine with caution.

Good breakfast food. It’s not magnolia pancake, but I didn’t wait 30 – 1 hour either whenever I go to magnolia. The menu has a good variety and my pancake combo was fluffy and nice. The sausage was delicious w a spicy kick and bacon was crispy. I would definitely go back and try other plates and not having to wait is super nice in itself not to mention very bright and open environment. I actually like this place!

Clean, quiet, and on a Sunday Morning no less. Food is great, coffee is yummy, and staff is nice. Perfect spot for me and my sister to meet every week.

I came here for breakfast once a few months ago. I tried to invite others to come with me to this place, but they declined… because they KNEW how bad it was. They just didn’t tell me! I got a combo of bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes, toast, and pancakes with coffee. Maybe I’ve been too spoiled by great breakfast/brunch places. I did not enjoy anything on my plate. I don’t know how they can mess up bacon! and EGGS! They were not good! I took one bite of the doughy pancakes and I was done with that plate. I regret spending $ 10 here. I would rather go to IHOP, Denny’s, or Chick-fil-A for a quick, cheap breakfast.

Came in on a Sunday morning to have a nice breakfast. Was seated very quickly. Our server was very kind and attentive. I enjoy my eggs scrambled but most places use egg beaters which I do not like. Jimmy’s does not use egg beaters unless you ask them to. The coffee was also very good. I would recommend Jimmy’s Egg’s to anyone looking for a casual weekend breakfast option.

I had eggs Benedict. The eggs were poached perfectly. The holiday sauce, delicious! I look forward to bringing my family here, this place is awesome! Friendly, welcoming, prompt staff. I saw some amazing pancakes and bacon nearby. Next time for sure!

Disappointing brunch. Service was disinterested(being kind) Luke warm omelette. Luke warm coffee and tough to get hot refill. Oatmeal scraped from the bottom with multiple burnt pieces in it. No milk provided without special request. Will not return

The food is good from everything to the burgers to the salads. I would definitely come back. When you are on your lunch break however, they seem to take their time waiting on you, etc. The service could be better, but it depends on who your waiter/waitress is. They always try and greet you with a smile when you come through the door which says a lot to be about the business they are running.

Huge Mistake. I read the bad reviews but decided to try it for myself since it’s right down the road from my house. Should have trusted you guys. Went at 10:30 am. So it was a very slow time between breakfast and lunch. Hardly anyone was in there. Somehow it still took over an hour between sitting down and paying my tab. The service was SO slow. The food was terrible. Absolutely flavorless. Literally not a single flavor. I ordered the«meat lovers scramble». They apparently think if you order this you actually must hate meat. Because the ham, sausage and bacon were chopped so finely you could hardly see them and barely existed in the dish at all. The scrambled eggs were runny. I’m 9 months pregnant and can’t risk eating runny, undercooked scrambled eggs so I couldn’t eat most of it. It was served over barely cooked potatoes. Most were cold and hard and not a single one had the crispness you would expect from home fries. The biscuits and gravy were ok, but again completely flavor less. Jimmy’s EGG, really? And you can’t cook a scrambled egg. Wow. The waitress was very friendly when I saw her, I just hardly saw her. She never refilled my water and coffee throughout the entire meal. I did ask for a refill when she finally brought the check(15 minutes after I asked for it). The serving portions were also terribly small and the meal with coffee was $ 12. I can’t believe I paid so much for such terrible food. I’ll never go back.

Besides getting my order wrong(ordered a vegetarian spinach and mushroom omelet but received one with turkey sausage), the actual eggs weren’t great. The replacement omelet was runny in the center. Dad ordered eggs over medium and an egg yolk was served already broken. Another order of scrambled eggs were dry. If you’re going to put«egg» in the name of your restaurant, you better serve them perfectly. Service was mostly good. Our server was nice(go work somewhere else! You deserve better!). Hostess was rude when we arrived and took off to our table with menus without calling us over. I can make better eggs at home.

Boy, talk about bad service. This place was so understaffed that they couldn’t provide service. After an hour of waiting for or order, we left when the table next to us got their order– it was placed 5 minutes after we placed our order. Hostess was trying, I’ll give her that, but the wait staff was surly and obviously overwhelmed. Someone should have called in the reserve team because this was a huge boondoggle. Those poor schmoes still waiting for a table would have done better to go to Jim’s or The Egg & I. If your under-staffed, call in backup when the wait time exceeds an hour to get the 2 people party in and out.

Walking into this place reminds you of an IHOP or dennys. Lots of open seating and the place is inviting. Upon walking in we were greeted by two people and immediately taken to our seat. Our waittress was very friendly and attentive, the only thing we had to ask for was hot sauce. She wasn’t overbearing like at some places where the wait staff hover and dissect your every move, she attended to other tables but did a great job of ensuring our cups were full. The food at this place… i put this place above IHOP and Dennys. The food was good! I have to say that I was surprised because I went in expecting a regular meal, but was pleasantly surprised. Everyone remarked about how good the food was. I ordered the meat lovers skillet, and she had the farmers skillet. Both were seasoned just right, with great portion sizes. And on top of getting the skillet, you get your choice of biscuit and gravy, toast or pancakes(3 of them at that). Will definitely be coming back, this is a great establishment.

So many choices! I love a breakfast place with a huge menu. I came on a weekday so it wasn’t very busy. The place is very well kept and clean and the food came out promptly. Decided to go with the daily special which was the paradise omelette it wasn’t anything special. Was honestly expecting more from the description on the board. Something I could easily make at home. Did love the biscuits and gravy though. The biscuits were light and fluffy. Probably some of the best biscuits I’ve had in town. My boyfriend got the biscuits debris and that was a delicious mess. Lol everything you can think of on top of biscuits and gravy?!? How could it possibly get any better than that?! I’ll definitely be back because I can’t wait to try their eggs Benedict. It’s usually my go to dish but I changed it up this time. No worries… I’ll be back soon.

I tried Jimmy’s Egg after reviewing my Entertainment coupon book & finding a BOGO coupon. After reading the reviews, I was expecting bad service — service was pretty crappy but I knew that ahead of time. The place itself is located in the randomest spot, I would’ve never known it was there. We went on a Wednesday around 10AM and it was dead. The wait staff seemed unimpressed we showed up, but our server(not to be named) was completely unenthusiastic. The food was good, but tasted like it had been sat under the heat lamp for 5 minutes too long. The coffee was delish and the cute mugs they serve coffee in were so cute and I had to buy one to take home for $ 5! The main reason I wanted to try this place is because they are building one on Babcock and Wurzbach in the Medical Center so wanted to see if it was worth it. It’s on the same par as Jims and IHOP, in my opinion — but more expensive.

They have different choices in menu items from Magnolia Pancake Haus and Egg and I but i dont care for their lunch menu. Food is okay. Not bad but not great. Atmosphere is the same here as the other two places listed above. They do have outdoor seating but its only a couple tables. I have never had to wait to be se
