No frills kind of restaurant that’s tucked away in a corner of a little strip center. I believe they had a total of 8 items on their menu. All I had was their ternera which is your basic shredded beef accompanied by lettuce, onions, tomatoes and mustard on a toasted bun. Small sandwich with lots of flavor. Going for their hamburguesa next time based on the reviews.

Very basic menu that comes with a lot of flavor! Tried the Ternera and Hamburguesa and both were delicious… After I was offered a Hamburger Party which is basically everything on the menu in one burger! Cheap and tasty food! Definitely will be back!

The same recipe the same taste as it was 30 years ago when I used to eat them as a kid. Just awesome.

Great taste, simple, cheap lunch. Bread is soft and buttery, ternera with avocado was my favorite.

Originating in Nuevo Laredo Mx, they are they best ‘lonches’ around. Simple, yet full of flavor. They use a sourdough type bread that changes the taste of the sandwich. Not to mention they are insanely cheap. I have eaten at their various locations for over 15 years. IDK how else to put it, but every bite is like angels dancing on your tongue

My wife has been a fan of there’s for a long time and took me to there location in Laredo Texas. I fell in love with the simplicity and taste. When we heard they had open a location here in San Antonio I knew we would soon become regulars. Food is cheap, people are friendly, and it taste great. I normally get 3 lonches, a coke, and a bag of potato chips; they serve it all with pickled peppers.

For what this place is, it’s awesome. And it’s important you understand what Loncheria El Popo is before making the trip there. They serve basically 2 things: hamburgers and ternera sandwiches. The hamburguesas can be ordered with cheese, and the ternera sandwiches are essentially shredded steak burgers. Both are excellent, with good bread and good flavor. The best part is they’re cheap — sandwiches are just $ 2.50 each. They’re a bit small, so I’d suggest ordering two(or three) if you’re hungry, but it’s still a bargain for a meal. Beverages are also available, but otherwise, the menu is concise and efficient. Service is friendly and quick, and the staff does speak English.
