Mary VII Nails & Hair Salon Spa

If I could give negative I would. Walked in and no one greeted me. I signed in at 5:50 and was told it would be 15 mins. After 45 mins… I was still sitting and they took others back before me. And they were walkins too. So I just left.

I’ve been going here on and off the past few years. Today I was treating myself to a pedicure and fill.
I usually get the basic pedicure but today I splurged $ 5 extra and got the callus remover pedicure! I’m glad I did! They scrubbed my calves and feet much longer, and really took their time today!
Every time I come in to get my nails refilled, people are always requesting for Mary. I always get Tony. He’s amazing, quiet, and friendly. But, Today I had Mary taking care of me and I felt like a rock star! Haha! She’s super friendly and sweet! My nails looked great (like always) but her service really brought up the rating from what I would have rated a 4 star to a 5 star.
I’ve never seen problems or complaints happen here. My recommendation is to come Monday– Thursday before 4:30. It seems to be a better time where you can get better service.

Just had my nails done here. I wanted color change and buffing of my original nails underneath polish. I have to say this was the worse nail job I’ve ever had in my life. I asked for her to clean up extra polish off my skin around my nails from over paint. You can see it was poorly done. I asked for another coat because they were so thin I could see the lines of my nail beneath, she became irritated. At the end those if us that get gel always get oil around cuticles, but she said no. I’m like this really. So I kept a very calm and a pleasant attitude, and tipped her $ 15. I had an opportunity to speak with another customer in the parking lot, and she said she’d had the same experience with this lady. She encouraged me to give Tony and try next time. I’m not sure if I will but I appreciate her encouragement that its not the entire shop! Looks like I can’t get my picture uploaded. But its a real shame she did this and wanted to be paid good as well.

Worst pedicure of my life. Of course I was told a 5 minute wait and then waited almost 30. It’s dirty and I almost walked out wondering if I’d get some fungus in my toes. Then had a whole discussion/​communication issue with the tech about what I wanted. Needless to say I want my $ 30 back.

I’ve been going here for a while now and I love their services. I get pedicures, I get my eyebrows waxed and I get my nails done with shellac. I’ve never had an issue with them and their staff is always very welcoming and happy. I love the fact that they take their time with me and makes sure the nails are done correctly. I will recommend this place to everyone.

They were very prompt when I walked in. As soon as I sat down someone begin my pedicure. My mother goes her as a regular and I can see why. Nice building and nice relaxing chairs while you’re being worked on.

I’ve been going here for 2 years to have my eyebrows done. I love that they not only wax but also trim my eyebrows. I’ve gotten pedicures there before, and they are ok… nothing to brag about. I went in today for my first nail fill there, and I was really disappointed. First, I was told there would be only a 15 minute wait, but I ended up waiting almost an hour. When the guy finally saw me, he rushed through my nails. He didn’t file them down enough and he used a much darker pink, so they look terrible. Not only that but he had the worst breath possible. Like I had to keep my head turned away because he was an open mouth breather. Seriously, if you’re going to be working that closely to people’s faces, get some mints or gum. It was just gross. I might continue to get my eyebrows done there but I’ll get my nails filled elsewhere.

This is my go to nail salon. Supplies and foot baths are clean. Staff friendly and well trained. Tony does an excellent job on nail tips. I have never had a problem with them coming off too early, unless of course I’ve broken one. Takes his time and knows what he is doing. Good prices.

This place is awesome! I love my nails! I’m here on business from California and I must say that I have all the luck in the world in finding this place!

Love the job Mary did on my nails! I’m going back today. She is very good at what she does and welcomes input on what you want. She is very busy and seems understaffed as far as other nail techs. I couldn’t be happier with her work though. :)

Been to several nail salon/​spa in san antonio and this is the best so far. I thought Mary was excellent only to find out so is Andy and Peter… too many choices for a favotite

This place sucks. She charged me 15 bucks for a bang trim, and 35 for for a pedi. My bangs look like crap, now I have to go somewhere else to get it fixed. Do not recommend.

I used yo LOVE coming here for years for my eyebrow wax… But the past year, service has dropped considerably. Twice Ive walked out after signing in and waiting 15 – 20 mins with no one coming to see what I need… Once, people came in after I did… And they took them before me… The last few times, Mary, would be very rude and brutal on my brows. The final straw was when she was working on my eye brows and in the middle if my service, stopped without saying anything and walked out for 5 mins… Came back and didnt say anything. Few mins later walked out again… Again few mins later with no word but more aggressive in my eyebrows… I dont know who she was angry at… But my face didnt need the punishment… Searching for better service!

Pedicure was ok.
Acrylic fills with shellac? Now that was a nightmare and a half. First, they forgot about me. I sat there for 45 minutes after my pedicure. Finally, an older man was doing my nails. Now, he didn’t do a «bad job» but he took forever. About 90 minutes. When I was putting my hands under the light to harden the shellac he WOULDN’T let me put one hand in as the other hardened. I asked because I was running out of time and he cut me off and started yelling at me in Vietnamese. He then got up, and just going off tone of voice and gestures started speaking to a coworker about me. He knew he was being rude and so my intention was to not tip him. Why should I spend more money on top of the $ 70 when he was rude to me? When I was signing my receipt he stood over me watching as I signed, I made eye contact with him and slashed through the line and he gave me a look that could kill. So I just left and said to have a good evening. I’m sorry, but I am not ever going back to a place that will treat me that way.

No AC in here — the woman that did my pedi was in a rush she was cutting my nails and filing them so bad it hurt. When she put the scrub on my legs it felt like my skin was peeling off. Will never return or recommend.

Formally «Ann’s Nails», Mary VII is my favorite place to get a mani, pedi, and wax! The woman, who I believe to be Mary, that does my eyebrow waxing is the best at it, hands down! I’ve tried upscale spa’s near Balcones Heights and other places, but she beats them all!
No, this isn’t a fancy place that offers you mint tea or a cappuccino. They hand out small water bottles instead. The room they take you to to do the wax isn’t closed and instead the door is left open. Once in a while people wait their turn in the same room as you as you get your own eyebrow wax. But they do a much better job then other places and it’s perfect for the gal on the go!
I also get my mani and pedi here and again, they do a wonderful job! Their prices are little on the expensive side, though not by much, however; consistent work, and nice employees keep me coming back year after year.
Besides changing the name, they also got all new massage chairs that are fantastic and they offer a ‘frequent client card’! Perfect for someone like me that is a regular and any amount off of a visit helps this poor college student.
Warning though: Saturday afternoons and just about any week day after 5, this place gets packed. So plan your visits accordingly.
