My boyfriend and I were in last night, we had small Cesar salads as well as a ribeye and the lamb chops. We don’t get off work till late and we wanted a to have nice meal. this is one of our favorite places. I felt bad for coming in so late but the bartender Melissa explained there was no need for an apology. She made us some martinis and I must say the watermelon specialty was amazing she didn’t make us feel rushed. As we were walking towards the door she said«bye guys have a goodnight ! Same time next week? But with dessert!» There’s plenty of places we could have gone for a date night but Napaflats has great food, drinks and staff. Will be back soon

I’ve had take-out from here about a half-dozen times. I like the fresh ingredients and, overall, I like the food. It’s kind of pricey and at times it comes off a little«Corner Bakery”-esque to me. . obviously the menus are not the same — it’s kind of like«the vibe», lol. Usually everything comes off as expected but sometimes they have some issues — the last time we picked up food from here they messed up our order, overcooked the pizzas and where they usually give you the fresh toppings(like arugula) on the side so it doesn’t wilt — this time it was directly on the pizza and, of course, it did wilt. We also usually get the spinach salad with lemon vinaigrette — which usually has the dressing on the side and is great. This time, though, it came already dressed but dressed very lightly — so it was soggy in some places and dry in most others. When it’s good, it’s good. .and it usually is good(or has been so far).

You can start off here with $ 3 bloody Mary’s or mimosas, but the thing that caught my eye is the asparagus and seared scallop salad. Can’t wait till it comes. Ambiance and smell is making my mouth water. Clean, chic, trendy and there are sports for my fanatical son… so I don’t have to listen to him whine about the food being too sophisticated. They do have a kids menu with $ 6 healthy items that come with gelato!

To the person that gave Alyssa a bad review. Sorry, but you’re wrong. She’s awesome. Maybe not your cup of tea, but she’s attentive, funny, and an awesome server. She was s goofy but super attentive. Maybe you felt she was too«weird» but trust me she takes care of her clients. Alyssa — keep doing what you’re doing. Ca-caw!

The restaurant is very nice has indoor and outdoor seating. We decided to sit outside and the outside is very nice with a small waterfall and chairs for leisure activities. When you arrive they have have A desert area where they serve gelato and also pastries. In regards to the food the food was great! I ordered myself a mac n cheese with chicken and must say that it was splendid! The pasta was magnificent! The mac n cheese had breaded crumbs and was very saucy, the sauce was great, I highly recommend this plate. The chicken was tender and was a great addition to the plate. My boyfriend had the lamb chop plate that came with a choice of two sides, and he had smashed potatoes and asparagus. The lamb chops came with a sauce on the side. I must say that the lamb chops were great! Being that I am not too fond of lamb, the lamb tasted magnificent. The lamb tasted like regular beef and the sauce was a great addition and complement to the lamb chops. The lamb chops had a great meat texture not too dry but great. The only downfall is the service. When we arrived we were not greeted or acknowledged by a server until 20 minutes after, in which the server promptly asked for our drink orders and food orders.

We decided to try this place out after receiving multiple coupon promotions in the mail. For drinks we had the Strawberry Sunset and the Peach Bellini. They were both good but the Peach Bellini was definitely a winner. For dinner my husband had the Pablano Mac and Cheese and I order the Red Fish Tropicale. My hubby LOVED his Mac and Cheese, he just it had just the right amount of heat to it. I thought my red fish was tasty but nothing extraordinary. For dessert we got the Pistachio gelato, it tasted a little too powdery, we didn’t like it much. The service however was very attentive and very knowledgeable on the menu items. He gave us his honest opinions and recommendations which I really appreciate when dining out.

My daughter was vacationing in NYC this week. I reminded her to make sure to try the pizza. Since then I’ve had a hankerin’ for pizza, so I loaded up the wife on a this lazy Sunday afternoon and headed to Napa Flats. Had seen the Good Morning SA piece about Napa Flats(at the site that was formerly Johnny Carino’s). I read the reviews on Unilocal and was ready to treat myself to a brick oven pizza. It wasn’t busy, we even commented to ourselves that there seemed to be more waitstaff than customers. I thought the redecorating was good but the wife didn’t like it and noted it had no atmosphere. My wife ordered a Margherita pizza, and I ordered the Carnivore pizza. How could I deny myself that name? Oh yeah, they just«got rid» of Shiner Bock draught, per the waitress, so I ordered some jive wheat beer that was very forgettable. As a matter of fact, I don’t remember the name. It was a long enough wait for the food that they had time to over-cook the pizzas in the brick oven, which they did to one of them, my wife’s. The Margherita pizza crust was burned. She didn’t want to send it back so she suffered through it. I was disappointed in mine. My crust was good but the amount of cheese and particularly the amount of meat left me wondering«where’s the beef?» This could really be a nice destination. I didn’t see any management types, mostly young waitstaff. Probably would’ve said something to a «manager looking» person. That’s my bad. I might give it another try at some point. In the mean time, if I get another hankerin’ for a pizza I’ll go th the Stone Werks Big Rock Grille, right across the parking lot… and they have Shiner Bock!

Updating and downgrading my previous review. I was contacted about a week or so ago from someone that said they were the Manager and asked me to send me my mailing address so that they could send me my coupon for $ 10 off which I should have received after I signed up for their mailing list 4 visits ago. No coupon to date:(that was 2 weeks ago) We stopped in after church this past Sunday. Our waitress spoke super fast and was rushing us through our order. We had to ask for potato chips and bread. Other 3 times the waiter or waitress come out automatically with it. When we asked for it our waitress said«You need to request it, we do not automatically bring out bread or chips» Ok news to me. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs. I ordered the Citris chicken with mash potatoes. The waitress came out much later and informed me that was a dinner item on their menu and they do not have mash potatoes. Once again rushing me to either pick another side to replace the mash potatoes or order something else. RUSHRUSH speaking super fast. No customer services skills at all. I ordered something else on their menu to make it easier for them. When the bill finally came she had charged me for the dinner item and not the lunch item I ordered in its place since they did not have mash potatoes. The dinner item $ 7.00 more. WOW! Good thing my husband looked before he signed it and added the tip. We had to flag down another waiter to help us fix our check, our person was no where to be found. She finally showed up with the corrected bill. No apologies for the error. Needless to say this last visit was not a happy experience. Probably will not go back.

Mediterranean sit down restaurant with unique dishes. When you walk in you’ll notice the colorful gelato display to your right. The hostess was friendly and prompt to seat our group of 8. The décor is modern with hints of urban style. You will notice they have an open kitchen concept in the back of the restaurant. We were given the lunch menu, and ordered the bow tie pasta, and the zucchini primavera. Around $ 10 – 11 a dish. My dish was presented with peas, roasted tomatoes, and zucchini noodles with a wine sauce. Very tasty for a low carb veggie pasta. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. My husbands dish was quite small, and I wouldn’t recommend this dish if you are really hungry. It was also a little dry but after getting a little side of extra sauce that did the trick. They offer wine on tap, and the pastries are made in house. I tried the pistachio and strawberry gelato. The pistachio was delicious!

Super impressed with Napa Flats. Here’s why: Happy hour Monday-Friday from 3 – 7, all day on Monday, and anytime the Spurs are playing. So we got happy hour drinks($ 3 margaritas, $ 4 drafts, etc) and apps($ 5 guac, meatballs, etc) during a Saturday night dinner rush. score! Also, the food was just awesome. I had the Salmon cooked on a cedar wood plank and my hubs had the Lobster Poblano Mac and Cheese. He couldn’t stop talking about it! The portions are nice, and another plus is that you can add a salad to your entrée for $ 2. Our friendly and attentive server informed us that the side salads are big, and that there would be plenty to share. He was right, and he delivered us portioned out salads for essentially an extra buck each. You can also request complementary bread for the table(we had apps, drinks, salad, and entrees, so we passed). Really nice draft(local) beer selection, plenty of wine, and great service. Parking was a breeze, restrooms were clean. They also have a gelato station in the front of the restaurant, with at least 6 different kinds, and a walk-up window outside. We will be back to Napa Flats.

Yeah… on food alone I would have given them 4 stars, but crappy and sloooow service(both times) = –1 star. The good: Had a pretty good kale salad with a mushroom flat on the first visit. Salad was very fresh and the flat was a bit chewy(more like a pita BTW) but at least was tasty. Topped the visit off with a really good strawberry sorbet that is apparently made inhouse. Burger on second visit was quite tasty, well seasoned and… served without the guac that they describe on the menu. Had to literally get up and get the waitress(this was the bar area) who was totally missing to get the guac. She did and all was good. The bad: just very lackadaisical service both times. Hostess just looked annoyed to have us there the first time and me there the second. Service essentially consisted of the following steps 1. take drink order and bring drink after ten minutes 2. disappear for another ten and then take food order 3. deliver food order and disappear unless customer gets up and tracks you down 4. deliver check after customer gets up and tracks you down again. Yeah. No.

Excellent food and cooked to perfection. We were served immediately and came for dinner. We ordered the citrus chicken with spinach and asparagus(opted out of mash potatoes). The wine we ordered was a merlot and it was a great blend. Overall ambiance and service was excellent. We will definitely come back.

This eatery has been my «go to» place for an excellent meal while I travel in San Antonio. The hostesses are always incredibly friendly and go over and above to make certain my meal is prepared exactly as I have ordered it. The food is always fresh and tasty. Their Gelato is out of this world!

I’m on Thanksgiving break, so I actually get to eat lunch like a civilized person(aka not having to scarf something down in 10 minutes while doing a million other things), so we stopped in to Napa Flats for lunch. There was a pretty good crowd for a Tuesday, but we were seated promptly and our server came over right away. We ordered the Carnivore pizza(tomato sauce, mozzarella, red peppers, prosciutto, meatballs, steak, pepperoni and parmesan cheese). Our server convinced us to get a bowl of soup to go along with our pizza, and it was a good thing she did. It was probably the best tomato soup I’ve had in a long time: creamy, flavorful and smooth. The fire-roasted tomato flavor came through and the freshly-grated parmesan cheese just made it that much better. I could’ve easily eaten a few more bowls. Our pizza came next. Cheesy and packed with meat, the crust was perfectly crispy. I was so happy that we had a few slices left over for my pre-gym fuel later! We couldn’t leave without having their home-made gelato. I had the coconut gelato and was so happy to see actual chunks of coconut in it. It was like a coconut paleta in a cup! Anyone who knows me knows that I love all things coconut, so I’m hoping they’ll always have this flavor! As usual, it was a throughly satisfying experience at Napa Flats. Our server was friendly and efficient and did a great job suggesting gelato flsvors and other dishes. As a result, I’ve got my eye on several menu items for our next time here!

Let me start by saying they have wine on tap — yes, that’s right. Wine on tap! I went there as part of a large group — probably about 20 of us went. They provided free chips, queso, and a couple of pizzas to our group(no, it wasn’t a Unilocal event) which was definitely nice — they also seated us in their party room so we could sit together and socialize. The wine was good and nicely priced since it was a happy hour. The ONLY thing knocking them down a star is the final bill process. There were five people over charged and I was actually undercharged — and yes, I corrected him. Call me honest Brent if you will. I probably would have been more forgiving if we had ordered a lot of entrees, but I was only aware of one person who ordered dinner. Everything else was just drinks. In any case, I would return again — it was a large party, so sometimes this happens. Just make sure you double check your bill. Add this to your happy hour list.

Went for my birthday dinner and was disappointed. My husband and I ordered two appetizers(ahi tuna and calamari) that were good. Ahi tuna was a verryyy small portion for the price. Calamari had a unique breading and came with some breaded veggie pieces. However our entrees left something to be desired. My mac and cheese was more like an Alfredo(not what a Mac and cheese should be) and my husband said he had a piece of something hard in his chicken pasta. Im going to be open and try this place again but next time for a happy hour and go from there.

Ever had a grilled avocado? Yeah me neither. Yet, this dish was a lovely indication of the mouth-watering, dishes-you-will-continue-to-think-about to come. Let me start by saying thay the name is deceiving, at least to yours truly it was as I was expecting a pizza joint. Oh how wrong I was but what a pleasant surprise! For an appetizer, we were served th this warm, grilled avocado that was filled with this wonderful chimichurri sauce, and sat atop this corn salsa. After trying it, I seriously thought we would be fighting for the rest of it. The avocado was followed by 3 other dishes that were superb: Citrus chiken, pork milanese and my favorite, their lamb chops, ooh wee! Seriously, these were packed with flavor and each had thir own unique taste and seasoning, so no one dish resembled the other. Aside from the fantastic food the cook in a wood-fired oven, which they keep on 24/7, they have a nice selection of wines. What I, was impressed with was their wine on tap. There is really no need to ket it breathe as it’s great right out of the tap. We tried different wines and they did not disapoint. In addition to winevand berr, they also have signature cocktails which are equally as good. If on this side of town, treat your taste buds and pay them a visit.

Who doesn’t like to be surprised when they go on an adventure while discovering new places. I had always passed by this place when traveling up and down 1604 and always made mental notes how I needed to check it out. Well today was the big day and I actually stepped foot inside to see what this place was about. One thing that immediately caught my eye was how all of the servers were mini-hipsters wearing jeans and chucks or sperrys. I decided to enjoy my meal outside as they have a beautiful, but intimate, patio right past the bar inside the restaurant. The lunch menu was pretty impressive and covered everything from pastas to pizzas and of course some caprese. It wouldn’t be a Mediterranean restaurant am I right? The meatball flatbread sandwich was my choice for the afternoon and I’m so glad I got it! They actually make their meatballs from scratch and they are melt in your mouth tender. The flatbread itself was crispy and had a nice flake to it. For under ten dollars I was really full yet managed to find room for the house made chips that accompany this fella. As a genuine sweet tooth connoisseur I just had to try their gelato sampler platter! For $ 8 you’re able to try three of your preferred flavors from their in-house dessert menu. Their pastry chef doesn’t joke around because I was amazed by the presentation of the gelato. I tried the salted caramel, mint chocolate chip, and iconic lemon sorbet. The salted caramel was by far my favorite! Each one also came with some crisp wafers and each was served in their own cup. I noticed they have a decent wine selection but hey it’s Napa Flats after all. I’ll need to try their dinner menu soon.

First time at this restaurant proved to be a great experience. Prices are average to high, but the menu has many special items and there’s even a gelato ice cream inside with homemade desserts! The restaurant has a fusion of Italian and other Mediterranean(Greek/Turkish) food. I tried the calamari, spaghetti with meatballs, and seafood pasta. The seafood pasta had great flavor and came with a good amount of seafood. The sauce was flavored well and the seafood tasted fresh and was cooked well. The service was fine and we had a party of five. We didn’t have special requests, so nothing above and beyond. The strange part about the bread is that they don’t offer it unless you ask. So, make sure you do that if you want bread. Maybe it’s to keep costs down? The first piece was super hard and the second was soft and warm. Also, the peach Bellini is pretty refreshing and delicious, so I do recommend it.
