I am Vietnamese and well versed in my countries food/culture. I ordered egg rolls which were really tasty but a bit expensive but it is fine. I ordered phở dac biet large bowl and the broth could use more beef flavor and star anise. Dac biet means special all cuts of meat in 1 and I just felt I didn’t have enough meat in my bowl. It wasn’t «dac biet». The cuts of meat had too much fat and not enough brisket. The meat wasn’t finely sliced but tasted cut prior and added to the bowl with the hot soup curling the meat. 2 meat balls isn’t enough. Over all, it was decent but not great. Was not authentic Vietnamese phở but considering the location, it could of been designed for a different crowd so I will give them credit.

Fresh, delicious, and with very nice staff in a laid back atmosphere. I got the C1 chargrilled chicken with steamed rice and fresh veggies. The wonton soup was awesome also. Am definitely going back.

Their rent at the Alon Market must be very expensive because it’s obvious they are skimping on their dishes to make up for their loss. I ordered phở with round eye and beef tendons. There were 3 thin slices of beef, 3 bits of tendon, a thin slice of onion, 1 cilantro sprig and less than a handful of vermicelli. The accompanying plate of garnish was a pinch of wilted sprouts, 2 basil leafs and a slice of lime. My friend excitedly ordered the VN crêpe to only have a huge crêpe filled with the same wilted sprouts and 1 shrimp. Save yourself the disappointment… go to viva phở(just down NW Military just passed west) or betteryet, go to Saeb Thai Noodles on bitters(the best noodle house in San Antonio!).

Ordered the bun thit with egg rolls(B2 on the menu) and it was great. Have not eaten anything else here but this was so good. Everything was fresh and the pork had no surprises it weird bites. Service a little wonky as it was slow so they had one person for 7 tables. Other than that food is great and will definitely be coming back.

The restaurant was clean, friendly snd empty. I dhoul have taken that as a sign. I’m from Dallas, the phở I’ve had there is amazing so in coparison the bistro failed… had a weird flavor not soothing and comforting as phở 95… very disappointed as I was in for a visit, trying to introduce my local family to phở for the first time.

First time visit and was very pleased, alyssa was my waitress very nice and she made sure I had everything to enjoy my lunch. I had the spring rolls with pork and shrimp as well as the chicken phở soup. Restaurant is very clean and food came out very quick. If you love phở soup this is deff the place to go.

MEH… I guess this is an unfair review. The egg rolls were alright and the Phở wasn’t anything special. To be fair I have not had much Phở but this place didn’t knock my socks of or make me feel like phở is super special.

I came here when they were first opening. Had the egg rolls and phở. Egg rolls didn’t look fully cooked and the phở was super, super bland. Took a bowl of fish sauce to be edible. Disappointing bc I heard the other location was better but it’s really far from me and this one is closer. Go to Viva phở or the one on dezzie.

Such and excellent place for Vietnamese food! My first time there I tried a dish that I have seen Anthony Bourdain eat during one of his many trips to Vietnam: The banh xeo. It is a crêpe stuffed with all manner of good things inside, like shrimp, pork and bean sprouts. The crêpe is crispy outside and the consistency is almost more like an omelette than a batter. Still it is delicious, and if you are feeling adventurous then it is definitely worth a try. My second time there I got a noodle soup dish that was very similar to phở, yet had a chicken broth as opposed to the beef broth that is traditionally used for phở. It came with the ubiquitous Vietnamese garnishes of sliced jalapeño, basil and beans sprouts, it too was delicious. Their service is very friendly and helpful, especially if you are new to Vietnamese food or are trying a particular dish for the first time. They gave me tips on the ‘proper’ way to eat a banh xeo. I love the fact that this place is right around the corner from me and in the same shopping center as the HEB Alon Market. I’m destined to become a regular!

Phở soup is amazingly fresh and flavorful. Anytime I feel a cold coming on its the first thing I go for. Be adventurous and add all the stuff that comes in it.

Nice atmosphere, clean, new. there is not a lunch menu. So for me, it’s a little on the pricier side. I haven’t tried any of the dishes so my review is based on the phở… For the price I paid, I was disappointed. I didn’t leave full. The amount of steak and tendon in the soup was just a little sad. The broth was aromatic and tasty but I felt like it just wasn’t worth it. Taste of Asia/phở Cong li is where it’s at.

First visit today and a great new find. Phở broth was complex and very favorable. Had spicy phở which lived up to its name. Wife’s phở was accented with star anise and was quite tasty. Suggest ordering a small bowl unless you are very hungry. Friendly staff. Look forward to our next visit.

First off nice atmosphere, plenty of seating, and lots of service. Yes the service seems odd because you may have like 4 different servers but welcome to an Asian/family owned restaurant. The owner came by and asked how we were doing and even recommend what my pregnant wife should eat to help out the baby. Bubble tea is on point! Quick– food is not authentic but it’s still great and taste good. It’s not as seasoned as other places but that’s how I like it because those other places usually cater to Americans who only love BBQ sauce on everything.

Hands down the worst Vietnamese restaurant I’ve ever been to. My dish was bland noodles with bland chicken and bland vegetables — unless you count a dash of pepper on top as flavor. My fiancé had phở which was also bland and the sparse amount of meat had an incredible amount of gristle. We will NOT be returning for a second chance.

Disappointed. The service is all over the place. So many waiter/s running around but no one to fill up your drink or help. Strange Now for the food Autumn roll — needed more flavor and the accompanying peanut sauce was light on the peanut Vermicelli bowl with chicken — again super bland– the pickles pickles not crunchy or flavorful, no shallots and no peanuts or bean sprouts. The chicken breast also didn’t add anything. Will try again with pork Phở– alright average for San Antonio Will try definitely try again and hope it’s better.

Gross. I love love love phở and was so excited to have a new place, less than a mile from where I reside. Disappointment. I ordered ‘to go’ the P1 and P6 for my bf and I as a surprise dinner. I was preparing us bowls and got a little too anxious and started eating mine. The broth tasted like bath water. I ended up draining out the broth and just eating the meat/veggies. Waste of money and crappy date night. The broth is supposed to be one of the best parts. :-(

Fantastic new Vietnamese restaurant in the Alon center. Newly opened and the place looks great on the inside. Had a summer roll which tasted really fresh and crisp on the inside. Also had a bowl of phở tai which tasted great. I would definitely recommend checking it out for a great meal!
