Disappointed… enough lettuce for 3 burgers but only one sliver of avacado. Burger was very fatty and fries had an odd flavor. Friendly staff though but not sure I will go back.

Good customer service. French fry serving size was minuscule, thought they were feeding a toddler. Jalapeños were not cored and still seeded so hard to eat. Burgers were fine, but nothing to write home about. Overall, not a pleasing experience from a place who’s sole purpose is a burger. Won’t be back.

i tried smash burger a few years ago at a airport layover. it was so good. i happen to be in san Antonio this week and stopped by for lunch. everything i remembered about smash burger is no longer the same. the burgers were dry and not worth eating. everyone in my group was very disappointed. i did notice the location was extremely slow. we were the only ones dining there. im not sure if that had anything to do with the quality of food being served.

Came here for dessert… wanted the shakes since husband ate here before and was craving their Salted Caramel Shake. We ordered 3… salted caramel, peanut butter and chocolate oreo. 4.29 each. They were a bit watery or liquidy… not thick enough for a true shake… but they tasted great!

Great service! Friendly and helpful staff were amazing. Now the food… This was our first visit to smashburger and may be our last. One of our burgers was totally raw on the inside. I don’t see how this happens when they are fresh cooked patties. We should’ve taken it back to restaurant to have the issue resolved but decided to trash it and stay home. Shouldn’t have strayed away from whataburger…

A coworker and I were here for lunch. I got the Spicy Jalapeño Baja Burger, it was good, it wasn’t as spicy as I thought it is going to be. The patty is not greasy which is excellent. The fries is excellent, freshly cut and tasty. Plenty parking, friendly service and good food.

I ordered a «make your own» burger and added: haystack onions, bleu cheese crumbles, lettuce and tomato. I would have loved to try the chipotle mayo, but they were out. My son ordered a plain cheddar burger and we split an order of fries. My son also ordered the Oreo shake, which they completely forgot to bring — so we got it «to go». I thought the food was so-so… Nothing to write home about. My burger was a bit chewy and not too flavorful. The customer service was lacking. Won’t be back. :(

The food here is typically good. The problem has to be poor management. The restaurant is always understaffed and the tables are dirty. It’s not that hard to staff properly.

Walked in today… the person taking the orders at the counter is also having to cook. There is 1 person working in the entire location. Not sure what has happened. I would not be posting this if I could have found a number to call.

Picked up my daughter, after she got off work, to treat her to dinner. She wanted to go to Smashburger and have an avocado Smashburger. Who can say no to a good burger? We walked in, not too long before they closed. The help could have been less than happy with late coming customers, but they welcomed us like they meant it. I ordered my daughter’s burger just like she wanted, and ordered a bacon cheeseburger for me. We also got the smash fries. The food came out fresh and hot. All the food was just as we ordered. They told us to take our time, and that they would not rush us. Great customer service! If you are in the area, and looking for a good burger, you should give this place a try.

We had driven by SmashBurger a million times, but decided to stop in after a trip to Austin. We were impressed by the quality of the food and the reasonable prices. But what really did it for us were the seasoned fries. I’m not a fry fanatic, but these are amazing! They’re seasoned with olive oil, garlic and rosemary plus a little salt. They remind me of the fries served at Nordstrom Bistro(minus the kalamata olive sauce). I’d go back just for the fries! I’m hoping the food will be just as good the next time we stop by… I’m sure it will. Great… Now I’m craving those fries!

The burgers were ok, but not fond of their special sauce… It has a rather fishy taste to it. Maybe others would like that but I dislike fish in every way. So I came back and tried it without the sauce, so it was better. The fries here are disgusting. They are like crunchy and not so good. They should offer some normal fries(for people who want normal fries). However, I would be back because their burgers are not bad

I refuse to ever go to smash burger again. Yes the food is great, but customer service is lacking to say the least. I have on 2 occasions attempted to use coupons that were email as part of the smash club. On 2 occasions my coupons were refused and I ended up paying full price for my meal. I contacted the manager and after the bs rehearsed sounding apologies, he didn’t even offer to honor my coupons, just gave an excuse about how they can’t always keep up with corp. promo. Offers. If you want to over pay for a tasty burger this is the place to go, just don’t bother bringing a coupon or expect them to be aware of or honor any promotional offers.

Love Smash Burgers! The staff is very accommodating to special order — you know, light ketchup, no pickles, napkin under Onion Stack to catch the extra oil… kitchen actually remembers me after only a few visits! And there is almost never a line :)

After reading the Unilocal!reviews I was very hesitant to try this place. But, my son really wanted a burger, so we gave it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. It was really good. We both enjoyed our burgers, and we just split an order of fries(there was plenty for two people). The fries were excellent. It is a very simple place with a very simple menu. The prices were not that bad considering the quality you are getting. It’s not Whataburger, so naturally It’s going to be a bit more expensive. A $ 7 burger is really not that bad.

A nice burger joint ranked somewhere higher than fast food and lower than a fancy gourmet burger place, perhaps on par with Five Guys or Fuddruckers, but a bit more pricey. Clean facility and friendly staff. We ordered the jalapeño baja burger(super hot for me because of 4 jalapeño slices with seeds still in) and the original Smashburger. Delicious tender burger with tons of flavor, nothing memorable about the bun or toppings, but the most memorable thing is the Smashfries, which are thin cut fries tossed with olive oil, rosemary, and garlic. It seems to me the more fancy and high end a restaurant is, the thinner the fries get(no idea why that is but since I love fries, is rather have them be thick steak fries). No real complaints, solid burger place if you don’t want to stick with McDonald’s or Carl’s, but not an amazing price the way that In n Out is.

Shake it up. The burger was so-so, I think my mistake was not going with the larger size burger. It was nicely chared on the outside but just was a pretty flat patty. The best part of my meal was the Nutter Butter shake, so thick and peanut-buttery, I coulda had two of them!

Burgers and sweet potatoes fries are pretty good. The prices are a little astronomical compared to fuddruckers or other burger chain joints. It’s a good place to try. Their chicken burgers are pretty good too, but there’s a lot of grease left on their burgers as compared to other places. Rosemary sweet potatoes fries are a dream.

First time at a SmashBurger was in Cali. I was never a burger person until I had their Spicy Baja burgers. I love their Smashfries. My first time here at the SA location – was a little disappointing. Decided to order something from the usual & got the CLASSICSMASH(American cheese, Smash Sauce, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, pickles and onion on an egg bun). My bf got TRUFFLEMUSHROOMSWISS(Truffle mayo, sauteed baby portabella mushrooms and aged Swiss on an egg bun). First, we waited awhile for our order. I saw orders sitting under the heat lamp for quite some time. I was wondering what the staff was doing instead of handing out the food. After awhile, a guy shows up and I thought to myself, «that better not be our order, cuz it’s been sitting for a long time!» Surely enough, it was. My burger was quite greasy. The mushrooms on my bf’s burger was very bland. The Smashfries had barely any Rosemary sprinkles on it(I was use to it being a lot more). Anyways, I’ll eat at Smashburger again — only cuz it changed the way I felt towards burgers in general. Maybe next time the staff will bring out my food right away(when it’s hot)…and my Smashfries are made how I like it.

Awesome hamburgers, I took the gf there today and had the bbq /bacon cheeseburger. It was fantastic. The fries with rosemary were also really good, not an all time favorite but definitely helped in showcasing the bacon cheeseburger. The bacon wasn’t very thick but very flavorful and easy to chew. Loved the atmosphere and the service was extremely quick. The only real downside I had was possibly the easiest to overcome — fountain drinks. The tea was weak and had a poor flavor. Not a huge deal, so I poured it out and filled up with my «home boy» Dr. Pepper. Sadly, the carbonation was off so I ended up drinking water.
