I used to love this food truck, but the last few times that I have gotten the Szechuan beef there has basically been no beef. So disappointed, because this used to be the bright spot of my day. Guess I will move to one of the other 15 food trucks that shows up at my work. Swallow Sadness.

The food is delicious. I always get the Kim Chi fries. Spicy and French fry goodness. It also has some bulgogi in there as well. So why the rating? Well every time I go is it takes longer and longer to get my order. The last time three of us ordered, mine took 25 minutes and both of their orders too 35 minutes. It’s essentially poutine. Should take 10 minutes, maybe 15. On top of that all of orders were pretty skimpy on the Kim chi and bulgogi. I hope this improves. If so I would gladly give them five stars.

Hubs and I got the pork belly steamed buns(delicious!), jalapeño fried rice with hog shanks(meat was delicious, although my husband said he would have preferred more sauce… But I thought they were almost perfect!), and the kimchi fries(pretty greasy, but very tasty). It was too much food, and over $ 30, but we really wanted to try all three things. They recommended the jalapeño cilantro fried rice, which was tasty, but not something I’d go out of my way for again.

This place is great! I usually get the pork belly buns. Very hard to find street Chinese food in the US that’s not Americanized. I can’t say it’s authentic but it’s up there. Their food is very much like what I grew up with. This Asian approves.

Hubby and I are fanáticos of Chinese/ChineseAmerican cuisine. We waited in line at least 20 minutes before our order was taken, even if there was just 2 people in front of us. We waited about 15 min for our food to come out, reasonable timing due to the orders that were in front of us. We had an order of the shrimp fried rice, and the egg rolls which had a healthy portion of 5 rolls per order. Good for the price. The rice came in at a whopping almost $ 10. I haven’t really paid that much for a scrawny portion of fried rice. The container was at least half full, meaning you could still see the black bottom of the container. When we opened the boxes, it was aromatic and it smelled a tiny bit like grease, but of course we got the fried items. We dug into the shrimp fried rice, there was 5 battered fried shrimp on top, rice was nice and moist and the sauce that accompanied it was flavorful and not so one profile. But it was not really fried rice. It was steamed white rice heated up and thrown in with some sauce and shrimp on top. The egg rolls were crispy if you ate them fast. Reason being is because they smother them with the same sauce as your rice, delicious and tender on the inside as well. Ask to get the sauce on the side. Overall the three stars are for the speed of food service, the minimal portions for the rice, and the way plates are executed. The person running it was super nice!

Esposa and I have come to expect high quality, innovative cuisine at reasonable prices from food trucks. Of those three expectations, Yao meets only the latter. Everything was freshly prepared and of high quality. The staff are friendly and humorous. We always go with their recommendation. Top choice from them was the beef & broccoli. Sadly, it was on par with food I’ve had at shopping malls: the beef was tender and juicy, but bland and devoid of any significant Asian taste.; the broccoli was nothing spectacular; the rice was just a bit overcooked, too sticky, and bordering on mushy. Esposa opted for the cashew chicken. Although not recommended, it was significantly better: tender, juicy, and flavorful. The pot stickers were fresh, crispy on the outside, hot and yummy on the inside; by far the best item we had. OVERALL: DISAPPOINTING. NOTRECOMMENDED.

Had the fried rice with calamari and Japanese sausage and the porkteamed buns. The fried rice was awesome I wouldn’t change a thing. The pork belly was perfect tender but lacked a bit in the seasoning department. Either get a little more flavor in the cooking process or put a really flavorful sauce on that and it would be world class.
