In the past, we’ve always been happy with this Pasta Pomodoro location. We’ve been eating here for years. Tonight, however, we were not happy. I chose«Meh. I’ve experienced better» because we have experienced Much better… at this location. Things have changed and not in a good way. I admit that it’s been a while since we’ve been in. Pasta Pomodoro is a bit outside our budget lately. But I had an eClub birthday entrée email, so we came in for dinner tonight at about 8:20. We wanted to come in when the restaurant wasn’t crowded or noisy. We got the«not crowded» — only 3 other parties. As to the rest… We asked to be seated at one of the tables near the kitchen. We were told that wasn’t possible because«We’re sweeping». No one was sweeping. I never saw anyone sweep; perhaps they’d just finished? 8:20 on a Tuesday night; no one was ever seated in that row of tables. We like to watch the cooks.(Strike 1). The radio was playing some sort of grunting«music». I don’t know what it was, but it was neither pleasant nor melodic and we were never quite certain that there weren’t two different things playing.(Strike 2). In the time since we were last at PP, they’ve added two(TWO) very large television screens, aimed in such a way that we could not avoid seeing one or the other. At least the sound was off. One of the screens was playing a cooking show. The other was playing Anderson Cooper talking about the GOP debate. One of the recommended DON’Ts for dinner party conversation is politics. That should apply to restaurants too. Cruz and Trump are not conducive to a happy dining experience.(Strike 3). When two of the other 3 parties had left and it was obvious the remaining party was not watching the television, we asked the waitress if the political channel could be changed or the tv turned off, saying«we don’t want to see this and no one else is watching». She asked for a reason. Somehow, our reason wasn’t good enough? She said she’d need to ask the manager(Strike 4) as «we’re required to run the tvs during business hours(strike 5). The political channel was changed to the cooking show.(The first and only plus of the evening). We asked for the check and a tiramisu to go. After 5 or 10 minutes.(how long does it take to cut a slice of tiramisu?) we got the desert but still no check. That took another 5 minutes.(Strike 6). May we remind you that at this point we were one of only 2 parties in the restaurant? The waitress disappeared again and we took the check and the credit card over to the coffee /takeout area and someone else rang up our card. Oh… and the prices have all gone up noticeably. It’s been a while since we ate at Pasta Pomodoro. It may be a Very Long time before we eat here again.

The service was ok. The food, was terrible. Lasagna– bland. Meatballs were awful. Sorry, will not be back.

really tasty meal and great cannolis! Not an authentic out of Italy experience, but hits the spot if you want rich sliky pasta sauce. I had the shrimp and asparagus pasta shells in tomato cream sauce– really yummy. If you’re trying to have a mini Italy vacation however while staying local, head to Caffe Macaroni on Columbus Ave and see Chef Mario. Pasta Pomodoro won’t satisfy that travel seeking urge within but it will fill you up and they have lovely 2 for $ 3 mini cannolis.

Pasta Pomodoro Has Changed A Lot, From My Perspective. Don’t Get Me Wrong The Food Is Delicious. However While The Prices Have Gone Up, The Timeliness Of The Service Has Not. Please Allow Time For ANYTHING You Order. Folks Who Came In AFTER I Was Seated, Received There Food Well Before I Did. And I Only Ordered The Lasagna …

I went here two years ago and the other day I wondered why we never came back. Well we went back tonight and now I know why … It is below average. The service was slow and inattentive. The food was below Denny’s quality. The service was slow and forgetful. My lasagna was bland and overlooked. The seafood pasta tasted a little ripe. My salad tasted dirty and old. Did I mention the service was slow? I can’t believe this place is still in business I will never be back.

Regrettably, the family wanted to return to this restaurant for a birthday celebration. Service was horrible, though they weren’t busy, orders were mixed up or missing , food was lousy. Plus, it was freezing inside! People were wearing coats to eat dinner. How does this place stay open?

Party of Nine… Service started well — we were seated right by the door, and the server was very accommodating to our request to move out of the cold. It took some time to order(although the first time she offered, we weren’t ready) and then once the food came… Well, one of my daughters ordered cheese ravioli with tomato sauce, and the cheese ravioli is actually mostly spinach with a little ricotta. Not so good for a picky eater, especially when the menu description has NOTHING about spinach. Asked the server, and she seemed surprised. And no — they don’t have plain cheese ravioli. The Sicilian Pasta was supposed to have roasted eggplant, yellow and red peppers, and there were no vegetables to be seen in the dish. Artichoke and Mushroom pizza… Soggy, soft crust and overall undercooked. Side of farro — not a favorite either. While the waitress was pleasant, service was overall slow and food not worth returning for.

I drove all the way from Watsonville to San Bruno to eat the worst food I have eaten in a long time. My order was the healthy fish, it was lukewarm, the fish is probably still swimming in the ocean or where ever, it was certainly not on my plate. What about the fresh asparagus, didn’t get any of that either. Shame on you.

This place has gone down hill since the last time I was here. Wait was ridiculously long for the table&food, it was cold, servings were small, and my aunts pasta Togo was literally 2 bites and 1 meatball. Seriously ?! For 100 $ you need to come better than this. The Couple next to us was complaining about the caprese not having balsamic vinegar or any garnishes. The other couple to my opposite side was complaining about their food… Who are the kitchen cooks in this place? This is not a good Italian place to eat if you’re craving pasta! Luckily our waiter was very nice but that’s the nicest thing about pasta pomodoro. Ugh go to Olive Garden !!!

Worst service ever waited 55 minutes to get bread and pesto had to personally track down the manager to see where my food was. Then my food was thrown in front of me rudely and the server walked away without any silverware on our table. We walkedoutand will never ever go back to this place please tell all your friends not to give this dump your hard earned money. I would rate it 0 starts if Unilocal would let me

Surviving dinner here without pasta? It was a struggle, but I managed to keep to my diet. I ordered the cooked vegetable salad and a cup of the tortellini soup! The soup was a clear beef broth with large chucks of beef, so it was a good serving of protein. I was the only person in our 9-top(except for the kids) who wasn’t crashing before dessert. I did reward myself to a few bites of bread pudding. The serving could have easily been shared by 3 people. I would not have called it bread pudding, but the butterscotch topping definitely made it worthwhile. Just two bites did the trick.

0 m g. Ch0lester0l & CarB$! So gooooooododddododod. Pasta pomodoro is easily missed because they are on the side of a Plaza rather than«in» the Plaza. But parking is super easy to find! My cousin had told me about this place and wanted to grab dinner, but I originally wanted Olive Garden and she said«nah cuz, i’ll show you the real shit»… so dinner time rolls around and we both agreed to meet up at Pasta Pomodoro. We both got seated right away, it was busy on a Saturday night but the service was still nice to us and got us our food at a good time. They offered us warm bread, it was like a toasted Ciabatta bread with a side of garlic pesto dipping sauce. I ordered like 5 plates of that… I felt bad but oh well, if it was priced I’d still pay for it. I ordered the ravioli with tomato sauce, and it was cooked perfectly and so flavorful! I definitely recommend if you love ravioli. My cousin ordered the lasagna and it was so delicious! I’ve had a lot of lasagnas in my life and that was the most perfect one I’ve tasted by far… the meat is cooked perfectly and flavorful without the lasagna overpowering the mushrooms/etc. I would recommend if you are an lasagna fan too. And also ordered a glass of white wine, perfect w/pasta!

I had a late lunch here with my family and my cousin found steel wool in her food. The waitress apologized took the food and asked if she wanted anything else. My cousin asked for a salad. At the end of the meal we found out that we were charged for the salad. When we disputed the charge with the waitress, the manager came over. The manager went on to say that regardless of conversation we had with the waitress. As a favor to keep us happy and to keep us coming back he will take off the charge. Are you kidding me? Do you really think you are doing us a favor? I highly recommend people not to eat here because who knows what you will find in your food. I found management to be highly unprofessional. What happened with customers being always right.

This is probably the closest pasta place near where I live. It is very basic nothing really special. My favorite part is their bread and dipping sauce. I also love how they have freshly squeezed lemonade! Make sure to come during there all you can eat on Mondays and Thursday. Definitely worth it. On Tuesday kids eat free with adult entrée and Wednesday 50% off bottles of wine.

Had a very nice meal outside in Pasta Pomadoras enclosed exterior seating and it being early evening it was much more comfortable outside than the cold air conditioned inside seating. Liked the new build your own pasta made it easy for us to get the combo we wanted. Food as usual was very good. This has always been a constant it’s just the under staffing at times made it not so great to eat here. Very pleased

Haven’t been here in a while and I have to say it was still as good as a remember. My dad and I both got the chicken pesto pasta, and since I’m lactose I ask the waiter if they can hold on the heavy cream. She had to ask the manager and they were willing to make it for me. My pasta was still good and I really appreciate the fact that they were willing to accommodate me. The service was also great my waiter was super friendly and constantly checked on us.

What happened here! We have been coming here for years. It has been our family go to dinner spot, as well as my work lunch meeting establishment. Well, that has come to end. The last few times we have dined here it was been below our expectations, however the last time will end our patronage. I have never experience such horrid food. Shockingly each of the 5 dishes we ordered were horrible. The chicken Marsala was dry and flavorless, the pizza was overlooked and tasted like cardboard, and the 3 pasta dishes were completely flavorless. I am not sure what happened here but something changed, and not for the better. The good news is that there plenty of other much better establishments nearby.

I don’t know why I decided to come here again. I was yearning for the Ravioli Di Zucca I suppose… I ordered the polenta farcita. Not bad, but not good either. It was a little grainy and seemed to be missing flavor, which normally comes from the addition of the tomatoes and sage. The zuppa di tortellini was not what I remembered. The soup base was orange and creamy. There was a large mushroom, bits of carrots, and additional ingredients I don’t recall being in it My entrée, the Ravioli di Zucca came out Luke warm and somewhat dry. The manager I spoke with told me that the beef was probably on the line next to the mushrooms and that the additional ingredients came from the base the beef was cooked in. She then proceeded to explain the way they prepare the ravioli by pouring the brown butter and sage over the pasta which continues the cooking process. Saying that they probably didn’t get to cover all of the pasta. She asked me if I wanted another soup or if they could warm up my food. I’ve lost my appetite and don’t think I could eat anymore of their food. I will need to remember not to eat here again… So very sad, as I was hopeful and looking forward to dessert… Panna cotta. The one star and their saving grace was our waiter, Z.

I grew up eating at Pasta Pomodoro. Ever since my middle school days, we would come here at least once a week. I would even cut classes in high school to just eat here. I still have my favorites: the Frutti Di Mare(Mixed Seafood Pasta) & the Penne Portobello(Penne Pasta in a Roasted Garlic Cream Sauce Served w/Chicken and Portobello Mushrooms). I also love the bread they serve in the beginning! Warm focaccia bread served with their house salsa verde. I could eat these for days! But I’ll admit, portions did get smaller throughout the years while the prices increased. Quality changed somewhat too(the food has gotten saltier). I still like going here though. I know a lot of people have mixed feelings about Pasta Pomodoro… but I still think they’re worth another shot.
