This review update is long overdue, but I need to share the experience my friend’s and I had when we came here for my birthday. I told everyone about the life-changing Chicken Tawook, and they basically rolled their eyes because this was the 700th time I talked about Alforon since the last time I went. But first we ordered hummus because every human(except for me) loves crushed chickpeas. They seemed to enjoy it, but they had no idea what they were about to eat. As the Chicken Tawook made its way onto my roommate’s tongue, she actually cried tears of joy. This might sound like an exaggeration, but I have pictures to prove it. We asked the server to bring us her favorite flatbreads because there had to be some other hidden gems among the deliciousness of Alforon’s menu. She was very excited to surprise us. However, she was not as excited as the owner was to hear that it was my birthday… Suddenly, she erupted into song while carrying a complimentary cake slice. And then sang Happy Birthday three times as the candle was extinguished, dropped, and relit… twice. Her enthusiasm never disappoints. I think its necessary for me to state the following: There are a few things that everyone should be able to experience some time in their life — such as love and happiness. I am here to tell you that Alforon’s Chicken Tawook can provide you with both.

Very refreshing place. Well thought out with nice décor. Greeted right away by a beautiful woman and seated at a nice table. Not sure if I was given a limited lunch menu or if it’s their full menu. The menu is primarily flat breads with a few wraps, a couple add-ons and limited drinks. Portobello chef special was calling me out with a side of hummus and an iced tea. Get the iced tea first and was hoping it was spiced, but pretty average. The flat bread took a little while, but you understand immediately once you see placed in front of you. They make everything fresh and they make it delicious. The bread was outstanding. Perfect with that nice powdery flour on the crusts. The cheese, portobello, olive oil and herbs come together so nicely. The portobello and cheese together is delicious. Their hummus is incredible. Probably my favorite hummus in SD. I like this place a lot. I wish they offered more on their menu, at least some appetizers or more small dishes. I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes. Delicious food in a very relaxing atmosphere. Can’t loose here. Remember it’s a vegan spot.

Amazing Lebanese food with amazing service by Samia! The mana2eesh could not be any better than this. I dont eat mana2eesh(flatbreads) anywhere else. Highly recommend this place, every single thing on the menu is mouth watering! Samia and George are amazing people, my family and I always go there for brunch!

This place is absolutely delicious! The service was a little off when we first came in but I believe it’s only because of a language barrier and there’s nothing wrong with that I totally understand. We order the feta pie as an appetizer and it was so good, warm, and fresh! I had the chicken flatbread with cheese it was seriously so delicious and the pickle in the middle was the perfect accent. We also had the baked falafel flatbread also PERFECTION. And the dessert we had was divine. Very different! But it was so sweet, light, with notes of something floral. It was so good. My last comment is on the owners! They walked throughout the dinning area talking to everyone and making us feel at home. It was the best experience I had ever had at a restaurant. They made us feel like they really enjoyed seeing how we liked the food and they really appreciate all their costumers! Sam was so nice I just can’t get over it, she was happy to help us in any way. We will for sure be back for the food! And to see the wonderful owners! There’s a few bad reviews on here for service but I don’t think they deserve that. I mean come on people it’s not that bad you just feel out of place because it’s different atmosphere so get over it. THISIS A MOSTTRYINSANDIEGO.

Yes, yes, yes! George and Sam have got this place figured out! The food, the service, and the expanded space… it’s as good as it gets! So, what did we order… a good chunk of the menu: Humous — comes free when you check in and order more than $ 20 worth of food(which we did) and with only two of us! Spinach Pie — so good… the bread was so soft and the spinach was a flavorful filling Lahm Bajeen — super thin flatbread with a tomato, onion, citrus topping Fattoush Salad — yummy green salad with a tasty dressing, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. Lebanese Sausage — served on a flatbread is so tasty, best eaten when you fold the slice and make a sandwich/taco of sorts Chicken Flatbread — The best! because it’s a flatbread with chicken and garlic paste(I could eat this garlic paste on EVERYTHING!) and the best for last, the house dessert! You must order this… it’s probably the best thing on that menu that you cannot get anywhere else. George puts love into that dish, and you can tell it is perfection. This entire meal was inexpensive and filling. I enjoyed every bite! The service given to us by George was incredible. He just made us feel like we were eating in his home having the best Lebanese meal of our lives. I’ll definitely be back!
