They have really good food and service but for some reason today the service was way off. I called in an order for just 1 burrito. It took me about 10 minutes to get there from my house and my burrito was not ready. From the time I called in my order to the time I was handed my ONE burrito it took 21 minutes… For ONE burrito. Way too long of a wait time especially for a call in order.

This place has amazing food & a friendly staff everytime i come. They have the best surf & turf fries i have ever had ! The only reason why i didn’t give 5 stars was because the location is not that great. I say that because i came in today for a visit & i was verbally harrassed by two people for not having change to hand out to them. I was very scared to stay and enjoy my food, but the cashier working assured me with looks that everything was okay.

FISHROLLEDTACOS! This is the only place so far that I’ve seen make these, and I eat at A LOT of taco shops. You don’t understand how good they are till you try them yourself. I’m sure not many people hear about ROLLED fish tacos. So let me tell you about them. You know the basic shredded beef rolled taco right? Fried, depending on location comes with lettuce, guac and pico(fresh tomato salsa). Well this is the upgraded version. So first you have the crispy shell, and then inside is the crispy fried fish. There is literally fish in every bite! On top is their white sauce, not sure what it’s made out of but it’s usually mayo or tartar based. Then comes a heaping amount of fresh shredded cabbage. THEN that fresh pico de gallo. A squeeze of lime on top & your mouth just turns into flavor town. The flavor of the fish doesn’t get lost at all. Its best when eaten fresh! Everything compliments each other very well, & don’t forget the hotsauce! Every taco shop I go to, I always have to try their carne asada fries. Overall flavor is good, they don’t skimp on the guac & sour cream which I appreciate. The only thing is that I feel the prices are a bit high for the fries. A «small» box puts you in at $ 8 and a «large» at $ 11ish. This large seems like a regular sized box that you can get at any other taco shops. And the small is about half the size of a large. Maybe I just have an issue with calling things large when they aren’t very large lol. It honestly looks like an average size box of fries that I can get anywhere else for $ 8. Not much of a price difference. But idk, I remember being able to buy a box of fries that fed 2 ppl for only $ 6. What happened to those days?! Supply & demand, I probably would still buy it either way. I don’t think the«small» size is worth it though. Go big or go home lol. Anyhow, their hot sauces are good. They leave lids and cups at the counters unlike some places(el paisa) lulz. I love the habanero, I mean I pretty much like them all. They each have their own distinct flavor, with some heat to back it up. This taco shop is located in a busy shopping center, so the parking is whatever. There are only a few that are actually in front of the store. The walks aren’t too far anyways, plus you’ll need it after eating 1000 calories in one meal!

The chicken buffalo fries were super good! I liked that the fries were not to oily and the sauce was not super spicy. I called in my order and the order was ready exactly when they said it was.

I really enjoyed the food but people are right about the customer service. The man who took my order tonight seemed liked he didn’t want to be there and looked at his phone til my food was done. Who the heck uses there phone while working? So tacky.

So I get here at 9:50 and sign says closes at 10 … I get it people wanna go home but the cook actually told me to hurry up and order as soon as I came to the counter and when we tried to talk to him he said they were closed and to hurry up if we wanted to order food so I simply said good night and walked out … Shame bc their food is good but with that service I won’t be coming back they’re not the only taco shop in San Diego

Came here today and tried their fish rolled tacos and I got a Jamaica. Both were delicious. Whoever thought of making fish tacos into a rolled taco was genius. They’re really generous with the white sauce also. Usually it’s skimpy on regular tacos. The rolled tacos were nice and crispy and the fish itself is also nice and flaky inside. There’s a salsa bar also but I wish the salsa was more spicy. The habanero one was like mild for me. But would definitely come back for more fish rolled tacos.

Extremely disappointed! Bought a couple of breakfast burritos with bacon and eggs. I didn’t know it came with potatoes so I ordered a side of French fries. The potatoes were obviously left over from yesterday. They were hard, very dry and did not taste right. The burritos were inedible and I had to throw them out along with the order of potatoes. They cost almost $ 7.00 each and hardly had any bacon and too much sour cream. The tortillas were hard and dry. There was no manager available to make a complaint and I was told the manager has no regular schedule. My only recourse is to leave a review here to warn others about this foul taco shop. In short the food sucks and is over-priced. I will never go there again. There are plenty of better places with better prices.

this is my 2nd time at this location, the 1st time i was so inpressed(in a good sense) with the service, the food and everything. and it was here where i saw the«grande breakfast burrito» it was huge, and i said«i’m getting that next time» a week when by and when i was in lemon grove i stop at that location and order that huge burrito, it was a big dissapoinment, it was li a pound of french fries and very little egg and bacon, i’m not ever order that same burrito, this time here i found out tha every location the price varies for sertain items, i think that the prices should be the same at every location, i’m gona keep coming but so far is 1 out of two.

This place is clean. Food is good. But I was kind of disappointed when I only got like 5 – 6 pieces of shrimp in my surf and turf fries. But the entrée itself was delicious.

Local — Veggie burrito — ***4/5 *** This joint is a bit deceiving. It sounds like a chain and looks like a chain but has an interesting story and offers surprisingly good food. The veggie burrito was pretty big(not as big as some of the other pictures) but more importantly delicious. The tortilla was flakey and had the perfect crunch and it was loaded with guacamole so I really can’t complain! Atmosphere — *** 3⁄5 *** the atmosphere had a bit of an identity crisis. It was battling between wanting to be a low key mexi-Cali joint vs wanting to be a Del taco. In my opinion, pick one and go big or go home.

Last Monday, September 21,2015, I visited the Burros & Fries on Market Place off Imperial Ave. no complaint about the service and how clean the place was. That part was just fine. I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad and a large drink, both to go. I arrived to my office 10 minutes after leaving the restaurant and proceeded right away to eat. I noticed the dressing was on the side on a different container. I poured and shook my salad. The dressing smelled a little funny and it had a very different flavor. Not the typical for a Caesar Salad. I was so hungry I ate the salad despite the funky dressing. Well, I got sick that Night with chills and fever and had diarrhea all night. I still went to work on Tuesday but had to leave early and took Wednesday off. Let me tell you that the salad was the only thing I had all Monday. On Tuesday I only had a chicken noodle soup for lunch and dinner. The stomach pain continued along with heavy sweats. I have eaten the salad before at this place but the dressing never tasted this bad nor have I ever had a reaction. Horrible experience with the Chicken Caesar Salad at Burros & Fries. By the way, I did call the restaurant and the girl refused to allow me to speak to the manager and stated they were too busy to listen to my complaint.

I ordered carne asada fries and they were ok. I felt like it was missing some flavor to it. I had read and heard so many good things about this place that I had a really high expectations. I did love their salsa and jamaica water.

I went here to pick up lunch and was excited to try the rolled fish tacos. They were really good. You get 5 rolled fish tacos($ 5.29) covered with a creamy white sauce, cabbage, salsa, and shredded cheese. This is a new favorite taco for me. I can’t believe I have not tried this before. The fish was seasoned just right and the rolled taco was not overly crunchy. One tasty bite after another. They have a side bar of various salsas and spicy carrots to add to your meal. The cashier was friendly and efficient. Inside the shop were two flat screen TV’s one on each side of the restaurant to make your dining experience more enjoyable.
