Canada Steak Burger

Never a disappointment! I love the gyros and the chicken fajitas. There salads are so good too! You can call in your order and it’s always ready when you get there. I heard they deliver too!

Canada Steak Burger has never disappointed me. Just a couple of blocks away from my girlfriend’s house, it’s a great spot for us to walk to grab some quick grub. I’ve had their burgers multiple times, and they are delicious. They’re nothing crazy or super customizable like you would find at say Stacked or Slater’s 50/​50, they’re just good, simple burgers. The bacon or gyro meat (depending on which you choose) they put on top really adds a lot to the burger. They’re Philly Cheese steak sandwiches are also really good. The meat was super tender, the cheese was gooey, and the bread was slightly soggy, but still holding all the contents together perfectly, like it should be. I have to say, my favorite item might be the fries though. Something about the seasoning on those fries, I could eat them all day.
The prices here are pretty fair, depending on what you’re ordering. All in all, it’s a solid little burger spot that’s worth checking out.

I’m not even sure if these 5 star reviews are real because I came with my fiancé and mom to eat here and we all ordered a different item and it sucked. Chicken sandwich was overcooked and hard to chew, patty melt was the worst v I have ever had in my life. My fiancé got a 6oz burger $ 8.99 because it was supposedly better and it SUCKED too. NO STARS FROM ME!

The food and prices were great, maybe just a little more upkeep on the interior. There are wide variety of choices for food, I got a Philly cheese steak combo and my friend got a hamburger with gyro on top. Both filled us up and it was under 10 bucks each. It’s worth a stop if you are around… Just don’t let the interior scare you away!

The fries here are always perfectly cooked and seasoned. The wings here are perfectly crisped to perfection.
The burgers here are huge. I’ve also tried the fish sandwich and it was pretty delectable.
The line can get long so you can call ahead to place an order if you’re in a rush.
Parking and seating is limited although there are a few seats outside.

When I hear Canada Steak Burger, I do not think «Greek» food and burgers. But, this is what this place is all about. It’s nestled right along University Avenue just outside North Park. The menu is simple and prices are fair. Customer service is welcoming though is not as professional as I’d expect. The layout is run down, which I’m usually fine with but this place doesn’t seem to own it’s hole-​in-​the-​wall identity with what it has going on. The quality of my meal was mediocre compared to other similar places I’ve been too. There seemed to be no signature touch to anything here. You’ll simply get what you pay for here. I’d like to see more of something that will stand out for me when I come here, which can be just about everything. Overall, Canada Steak Burger is just another mom and pop shop to get some grub. I had higher expectations coming in based on reviews and left feeling like I have no reason to go back. It’s worth trying if you’re looking to go somewhere new.

We completed our four mile stomp around the San Diego Zoo and came out starving. We knew we didn’t want zoo food but we didn’t know where to go. I asked Siri where the best burgers in San Diego were, and this place was #1 on the list. The name cracked us up so we thought «let’s do it!»
It didn’t disappoint! I was swayed by the Greek food and got the combo #1 — gyros and souvlaki. The gyros were flavorful. The souvlaki beef was so juicy and charred just right. The salad with feta was great. And who doesn’t love pita?! It also came with 2 Greek dressings/​dipping sauces. So much flavor! I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in SD.

Still a good burger. Couple hiccups. No seating left. That’s ok, we waited outside. Toppings on burger were fairly limited. There is no sugar free tea. Not could the counter girl explain that well.
All in all, a good burger and fries, but I don’t think I will drive the 30 minutes to visit again. If I was close, definitely.

Ok so if your looking for the neighborhood spot to hit up for good food before you head to a main event or coming back from one this is the place. Its perfectly settles in a neighborhood and a liquor store across. You have all different tyoes of people that come in.
Its a small place with a very loud greek worker back there. You can order 4oz 6oz and 8oz burger and add anything on it. The food is delicious and its a perfect spot to impress with food but not décor.

Gyro meat on my cheeseburger? YES please! WOW this place is the bomb and is a must see while visiting San Diego. Wanted a non-​chain place to check out on our first day here and was glad I checked out Unilocal for recommendations. It wasn’t very far from where we were staying but we would have easily travelled farther to enjoy this establishment. Don’t let the «hole in the wall» vibe deter you from having a great meal. Both my son and I ordered the 8 oz burgers; he got his with just cheese and I went all out and ordered mine with gyro meat. It was soooooo good. We got feta cheese put on our fries, they charge $ 1 extra for that but it’s soooo yummy!
Next time we come to San Diego we will definitely revisit!

I actually prefer to get they gyro platter here. The gyro meat is decent and their tzaziki is not bad. Thei salad is hit or miss. Last time I came a lot of the lettuce was very brown and soggy.
The burgers are pretty good especially when you add gyro meat on top. I am not a fan of the sesame seed bun so that is why I am not a big fan.
Fries and chicken strips are frozen from a bag, nothing special.

going to try everything once. Got the chicken titty daily special because who doesn’t like breasts?! Still a great junk food fix.

I have been coming here for well over a decade, and let me tell you, there is not one thing on this menu that is not great!
The kebabs are some of the best!
The Steakburgers are excellent!
The Greek Salads are super bomb!
The Philly Cheese steak is fantastic!
ALL the BBQ is really good!
The Gyros are wonderful!
The fries are ok.
The customer service is great, real people who are real friendly. Don’t confuse being super busy with rudeness, they are doing their best, the locals (I used to be one) love these guys.
If you get there, and find parking, you are lucky. You may have to park on University in front of the botanical or whatever just east of the location.
On that note, if you find seating, you are lucky as well. You better take that spot quick, before someone else does!
The bathroom are whatever, but not bad considering the location. This area isn’t as much «ghetto» as it is «‘hood». If your scared, go to church.
Anyways, I love this spot. I think you will too, unless your some uppity yuppie.

This place is super convenient in terms of distance. It’s literally right down the street from my place! Looks like I’ll be a frequent customer.
I came here with my husband about 30 – 45 min before they closed and they were still getting so many customers which is a good sign. The cashier was very helpful and friendly and she recommended the gyro sandwich which I really wasn’t even thinking of getting but I thought what the hell. BEST decision I made that night! It’s so flavorful and delicious and mouthwateringly scrumptious. omggg… Definitely recommend!
My hubby got their burger which was good too and pretty huge but I still loved mine better. We also got the pastrami fries which was good too but a bit heavy. Next time, I’m prolly gonna try their salad because the cashier recommended that too. Aaaand most likely another gyro. & Now I’m hungry from writing this review lol.

Their Chicken salad is awesome. Not. Not awesome. because that sounds corny. Who the hell still says «awesome»… Bruh. Just go there and eat. sound better?
I’ve ordered the chicken salad. the gyro salad. The chicken/​gyro salad. And the gyro chicken plate. The portions are huge! The place is small, the wait is long, but worth it. Before you leave, pick up a to go menu and just start ordering ahead of time.
