Convoy Massage

This is definitely a go-​to massage spot for me. I try to visit them about once a month. It’s easy for someone to get lost in an area where there are many massage therapists, but Convoy Massage is special. I wouldn’t take my sister here, but I would wholeheartedly recommend this to everyone else. ;-)

I agree with some of the other reviews. I was «forced» to give up a $ 20 tip for a one hour $ 40 dollar massage, that wasn’t even worth my $ 40. I will NEVER come back.

This place is HORRIBLE!!! I went in and the lady told me it’s 40 for an hour I asked how much 90 minute was it was as if I asked her something so offensive. I agreed to get the hour she said to pay first and I had to pay tip first. I said fine $ 10.00 she’s like 10!!! It’s 20 for tip I asked for my card back said I haven’t even gotten the massage yet and I went somewhere else. Who is she to tell me what to tip for a service I haven’t even recieve yet! This place deserves no stars

How convenient that they changed their name to Rose Massage. I wouldn’t doubt the massages still suck and that they’re still conning people out of their hard earned money providing horrible massages and as well as horrid customer service. I hope you get shut down!

My husband and I are visiting from SF and thought we’d bring the in-​law for a massage. We only wanted to do foot reflexology but the receptionist said it’s not available so we had to do the body massage, ok that’s fine… But then we had to wait for 30 minutes before they take us in.
During the massage, I dozed off for a second and the masseuse just started going through the motions of massaging me but with no pressure. When I told her to do it harder, she got irritated and almost yanked the sheet off me to massage my legs.
I also noticed that my hubby’s masseuse left the room at least 3 times and answered the phone once.
After the massage, we met my in-​law and asked him how was it. He said that he gave his masseuse $ 10 for tip but the girl insisted on a $ 20 tip!
The place seems clean enough but it is very cold! And they tell you to strip off your clothes and cover yourself with a hand towel!
I HATE THIS PLACE! Money-​rippers!
Do not go to this place!

I went in because of the price… The receptionist was on a phone call and not too interested in helping me feel comfortable… take off clothes wtih a tiny towel on.
The massage was good, but a big problem came in with the tip… she didn’t speak
much English, but was angry… The price is misleading. She said she neeeded at
least $ 15 to come in… huh?

Great price for the quality of service. I use to go to los angeles the «mecca» of these type of joints. They go as low as $ 10 per hour for the same thing! But as far as San Diego goes, this place is still golden, too bad the main lady up front doesn’t do ANY massages what so ever :0(

DO NOT GO HERE !!! I never write reviews, but I will take the time to write this one because I was so appauled of what just happed an hour ago at this place. I walked in an she said it was $ 40/​hr. Cool great price-​so I thought. After the massage she walked in on me (within a matter of 30 seconds!) pretending to give me water and I told her I was changing. She was like «its ok go ahead». I was like whatever. Then tried to give her a $ 8 tip and she was like «No $ 20». «WTF!!!» I said «no tipping is optional» and she kept pushing for it. I threw in an extra $ 2 bucks and said Im not coming back nor are my friends/​family. They lost a lot of business from me. If you’re planning on getting a massage be prepared to pay $ 60 not $ 40.

This place rocks my world. My family loves it, I love it and I am slowly but surely making this into a place to go with friends for a pamper and lunch outing. I have had the foot and full body massage. You can not beat the foot massage price ($ 20-​$ 22) and I would choose that over the full body.
Just be prepared because you will not be in your own room and you wear your clothing. Be open to the experience, it is well worth it and the staff is amazingly nice and accommodating.
For those of us that aren’t rolling in it, this is such a accessible luxury!
Get your girlfriends together, make an appointment and then go grab some great Korean, Japanese, or Chinese food in the immediate area before or after.

I’m not the type of person to pick out the bad in people but I have to say something just so you know what to expect. They do have really great massages. Both times I’ve gone the woman has answered her phone (twice) during my massage. I let it slide the first time. Maybe I didn’t know what really went on there. The second time, I thought that was very rude. I tried giving her a $ 6 tip at the end of the massage and she laughed and said $ 10. Poor front desk guy, I complained to him (obviously not his fault) and he was really apologetic and said he would say something to her. Let’s hope he does. Please just know everything I wrote here is what happened to me. It might not happen to you but be prepared or the worst.

I guess I will never know how the massages are here — apparently, they have two locations: #106 and #112. I called because they had an ad in the Reader (gotta love the Reader) for $ 60 for a couples massage, and the ad says «Valid only at Convoy 106». So, I called 106 and asked to schedule a couples massage and was surprised when they told me they did not have a couples room and that I would need to call the other location (112). I called Convoy 112 (just to see what they would say) and laughed my ass off when they told me that the coupon was only valid at Convoy 106. This is either the shadiest or stupidest sales scheme I have ever encountered.

The whole time I was in here I half expected her to negotiate a price for the … end.
First, she gave me about 30 seconds to get naked before walking back in the room asking «You ready?» She pretended not to notice I said I wasn’t yet, as I attempted to turn away from her steady gaze. Then, the towel she used to cover my junk could double as a cocktail napkin. No pun intended. The massage was nothing to write home about, and if I did write home, I would definitely leave out the part about her massaging my inner thigh vigorously from different angles.
If you want to use the restroom, you have to walk through the shady back area where there are no doors covering the kitchen and sleeping quarters of the ladies. Instead, a piece of green cloth hangs halfway so all you see is the bags of Calrose rice on the ground and the laundry on the floor.
You truly get what you pay for here unlike their counterpart, which is the other Convoy Foot Massage located across the parking lot.

I have been going to Convoy Massage for almost two years, I have tried other places but the overall experience at Convoy keeps me coming back, professional staff and they do not short you on time. I would recommend this place to my friends.

This place is freaking awful! I have been to several Asian massage places in this area but decided to try somewhere different. First, my masseuse had the worst b.o., horrid breathe and his fingers smelled like cigarettes. He and the women who massaged my boyfriend literally talked and laughed the entire massage so you could never relax. It was so unprofessional that the woman masseuse belched out loud three times and would just bust out laughing afterwards.
To make matters worse the woman masseuse stopped massaging my boyfriend to go eat something and then the man who was massaging me switch out with some woman who kept stopping to check her cell phone that was constantly ringing while she was giving me a massaing.
Finally, when we were paying out we only tipped $ 4 for the two of us and they lady grabbed us and told us the suggested tip is $ 5/​person. That’s when I lost it and told her how unprofessional the establishment was that they talked the entire time, how she was belching out loud, stopped to eat food, and the other woman was checking her cell phone the entire time. The lady knew she was wrong and said sorry and that we could go. You just can’t make these things up!!! Do not go here! I can’t even think about how nasty the beds may have been if there staff has poor hygiene, can’t even bathe or brush their teeth.

I’m kind of small, and used to getting noodly-​handed masseuses who are afraid they’ll break me or something so I ALWAYS end up asking for harder pressure, multiple times.
This is the only place I’ve been to where I actually had to ask if they could LIGHTEN the pressure a little. Oh whaaat! Looks like I’ve met my match. The masseuse ladies are magnificent and give great deep pressure massages. They worked my neck, shoulders and back so well that I felt brand new when I walked out of there. Not a single kink!
Typical Asian joint customer service: The ladies don’t speak English; they walked us to our room then left us in there without instruction, then 30 seconds later walked in on us while we were like half-​nekked (sort of embarrassing, but whatevs). BUT — I tend to totally overlook customer service if the product I receive in turn is superb. That’s the case with this place.
I will be coming back here despite the fact I can’t communicate a single word with them, and they walked in on me. I guess I’ll just undress/​jump faster underneath the sheet next time. BTW, clothing’s optional but they provide you with a sheet/​towel to cover up.
My brother, whom was in another room, came out of his massage feeling a tad violated and thinking that this was a «happy endings» type place. Bwaha. But I never got that vibe. Soooo I guess I say, thumbs up.

My first ever massage was at Convoy Massage. I have been very reluctant to have anyone «Touch» me. But with some coaxing from the wife, I found that I truly enjoy having a massage. I highly recommend them for a high quality massage and for the price, honestly, can’t be beat.
Because of my wonderful experience, I decided to try other places, but none of them matched in ambiance, personal attention that can be found here. I have been back several times and have yet to be disappointed. The prevalent massage style is the Swedish Massage, performed by Asian ladies.
Their ads can be found in the San Diego Reader, as well as on Craigslist. At the time of this review, $ 40.00 for one hour full body massage. They have a second location on Friars Rd. Although they take walk-​ins, I suggest setting an appointment.
