Watch out, they will rip you off at this place! They play lots of games with billing!!! They will stick it to you. Then complain to Unilocal. They will do all sorts of work in your mouth and they won’t tell you if its covered or not by your insurance. They they stick you with the full retail price! This is what happened to me. I overheard lots of phone complaints of the exact same thing. Going to have to report these gals to the state dental board!

The issue was not my foot or a need of a stool, but the rudeness of the front desk clerk.

The visit was good. My daughter was entertained by the small childrens area so it was nice and quite to fill out the paper work. When we go to the exam area it was a pretty tight space but the fact that they don’t have doors makes everything flow better. The Dentist was very nice and was happy with they way I was taking care of my daughters smile. She has no cavities YAYME!!! We were in the waitng room longer than we were in the exam room which would usually bother me but the fact tht everything was looking good I didn’t mind. The assistant was great with my daughter and the toothbrush goodie bag was really fun, the kid love it. The area the dentist is located in not my favorite area. I have encountered many shady charecters and I am happy to say I do not adventure there often. Now if you do decide to go to this dental office be prepared to put you driving skills to the test. There is a resturant in front of it and people like to park along the side which makes backing out hard since they took out have out half of your back out space. sooooo with that said… park somewhere else.

PROFESSIONALISMWIN! After having a terrible experience at a different dentist(See my review here: ), I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and professional the staff and dentists were at Dental Arts of Coronado Ave were. The place is located in a tiny complex on the corner of Coronado Avenue and 30th St. and shares a parking area with San Marcos Restaurant. I got lost the first time I went there because Google Maps told me to U-turn at Beyer Blvd. for some odd reason. Anyway. About the office. I swear, everyone has a smile permanently glued to their face. The staff always seem to be happy to work there, and they make each experience feel personalized. Even during my first visit, they learned my name right away and spoke to me as though they’d been seeing me for years. Although there had been a mix-up with the scheduling the first time I came in, the staff kept it professional. The receptionist apologized profusely and found a way to squeeze me in a few hours later. She even got my cellphone number just in case an earlier slot opened up that day. I couldn’t be mad at them. I came back to the office in the afternoon and was able to be seen. During my xrays, the dental assistant hummed to herself, and I felt right at home. I tried my best to stay still during those awkward and painful xrays(you know, the kind that feels like the underside of your tongue is getting stabbed with a sharp plastic shard) and when she came back from taking the picture, there were tears quietly streaming down my face. She said, «Mija! Are you okay? Next time you can tell me if it hurts, okay?» and grabbed a bunch of tissues to wipe my face. It was cute. I love the professional tones that everyone maintains as well. Whenever I call to schedule appointments, whichever receptionist is working at the time always answers with a lively voice and never shows frustration if I ask her to repeat something or if I have a hard time trying to find a time slot that works for me. The last time I called to schedule for cavity fillings, the receptionist got me a time slot for that same day. Awesomesauce. Dr. Acuna and Dr, Hamel are wonderful dentists, very skilled, and fun to talk to. When I got my fillings, I chatted with Dr. Hamel about that one YouTube video«David After Dentist.»(Look it up. It’s great.) and all kinds of random things. The fillings were quick and as painless as it gets, and while waiting for the local anesthetic to kick in, the dental assistants, busy as they were in the other room, would call over to me, «Doing okay over there?» This office seriously makes me enjoy going to the dentist. 5 stars, definitely.
