BESTGYROSINTHECOLLEGEAREA! Glad I found Elsa’s Kitchen, its reasonably priced and very good. I used to go to Daphne’s or Fattoush but this place is way better. If you’re looking for something quick, cheap and filling then check this place out.

I either order the gyro sandwich or hamburger if I get home late and just want to grab something to eat. Better than a fast food restaurant. Although bring cash or b they charge you yo use your debit card. .

I stopped by today with my husband on his lunch break. I was a little hesitant bc of the appearance, it’s not really a place with a nice view or anything. The food is really good. I had a chicken pita! It was so good. The pita was nice and warm. My husband had the daily special that came with a burger, fries and a drink. The price was exceptional for the quality of the food. Flavored were great. Customer service was even better. She was really sweet and nice. Recommend her favorites. Overall, a really great experience. I am happy that I walked in this place.

Good grub reasonable prices. The place was empty I got a Philly cheese steak and a gyro for my baby. Both were delicious I would eat there again. They need a better sign I didn’t even know the place was there. I stumbled upon it by accident on the way to Thai taste. I tried to call my order in to the thai place but they wouldn’t answer the phone. I guess everything happens for a reason!

This is one of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat! I discovered them back in 2009 when I moved near their location and I’m so glad I decided to try it out! It’s a small family owned place and everyone is so incredibly friendly! They remember their repeat customers, which adds to their awesome customer service. I’d recommend a specific food item, but they’re all good! The Greek food they have is amazing and I’m part Greek, so I know good Greek food! All in all, try this place out if you’re in the neighborhood or even if you’re not!

This place is awesome… I go frequently! I usually order the chicken kabob plate, chicken salad, or a gyro. I need to start trying other things because they have such a wide variety of food… carne asada fries, hamburgers, gyros, etc. It’s in a little strip mall on the corner of 70th st and El Cajon Blvd, and can be easily overlooked, but stop in and try it for yourself… bOmb!

We recently moved to la mesa and a few months later when I was craving a gyro I found this little place on Unilocal and I’m sooooo glad I did. The place itself is very simple and if you didn’t know it was there you would probably walk right by I live a few blocks away so I always call ahead and take my food to go. As for the food, let me just say, nothing has let us down yet. The gyros are delicious! The tzatziki sauce is awesome I always ask for extra(.25cents). The chicken plates are so good! The chicken is spiced right and the rice pilaf it comes with is yummy. My boyfriend has ordered the gyro burger more than once and he always seems to be happy with it. The garlic bread is pretty amazing we always order an extra side of that as well! The menu has all kinds of food, from gyros to carne asada burritos to fish tacos! I haven’t had any of the mexican food but one day I’ll try that side of the menu lol. The people that work there are always very nice so service has always been pleasant. I really wanted to write this review in hopes that more people try this place out, it’s the best food we have around! and although there’s always another person or two when we go, I want them to keep getting business! Very casual, really good prices and delicious food. Just give it a try!

This place was yummy! I had a gyro and fried zucchini. They were both really good! The gyro was crammed full of meat. Someone else got a burger that looked delicious. The breading was light and zucchini tasted perfect. My friend lives around the corner so I’m taking her next!

What a great find! Small mom and pop stop, I ordered to go. Greek chicken special on the window… I had a breast and wing, pita with potato salad and rice all for $ 5.49 Special! Excellent Deal. I also ordered a gyro burger. Everything was delicious. Thanks Elsa’s!

The first time I ever visited a Greek restaurant, the owner stood with his massive arms stretched out and bellowed«Welcome, sit anywhere!» That was the moment I first fell in love with Greek food. Fast forward 6.2 million years to the present, I stumbled upon Elsa’s Kitchen while running errands. Let me tell you, I am glad I did because they rock the food like no one’s business, and doing it from a tiny unassuming place you’d likely miss unless Unilocalers told you about it. Take it from Paulie B, from the tender and succulent lamb leaving that sexy glisten of fat on your fingers as you dive face first into that gyro. Outstanding!

My co workers have been telling me about Elsa’s kitchen which is close by to work. I decided to order lunch today and I wish I have had tried them sooner! It is the best greek food I have had in quite some time. I ordered the Gyro and spanakopita combo. The combo comes with gyro meat, spanakopita, rice, pita bread and greek salad. The portions are generous and the food was amazing. My favorite is the spanakopita! I got to work after picking it up and the phyllo pastry was still crispy. My co worker ordered the ½ lb burger and it came with all the fixins! I cannot wait to try their whole menu. they also serve a full menu breakfast!

I work nearby, and eat at this place fairly often. Everything I have ever gotten here was good. Keep in mind that essentially this is a greasy spoon and everything here is going to clog your arteries. I’m sure it is a family run place, and it is not fancy. Something unusual that they have is a breakfast gyro plate. Give it a shot, it’s pretty good

Elsa’s is the best kept secret in town. An unassuming joint near SDSU that serves up awesome Gyro’s, Burgers & Sando’s. I recommend the Gyro sandwich(pro tip: add feta for a life changing experience). Service is awesome, food reasonably priced & absolutely delicious.

Had a craving for a gyro sandwich, and believe it or not, I was cruising down El Cajon Blvd., when I saw a sign that said Greek and American Food. No kidding, I was flying off the seats of my pants. when I made a quick right and stopped here. When all the the dust had settled, I ordered a the gyro combo with fries and a drink for $ 6.45 The gyro sandwich tasted great and as you can see it came well stacked with gyro meat.( ) The sammi was simple and came with tomatoes and onions only.( ) I spread some of their yogurt dressing sammi which was descent, but a little bland. It needed some more aggressive seasoning and lemon juice.( ) Overall, it was a very good gyro sandwich. The fries that came with the combo were okay. They were typical previously frozen fries. They were well fried and decently seasoned.( ) One thing that did disappoint me was the ice tea I ordered. First of all, I told the employee I wanted unsweetened iced tea. I told him twice to make sure, but to make a long story short, I was handed sweetened, perhaps, Brisk fountain drink iced that was unwelcoming to sweet for me. Not my cup of tea, so to speak, so I did not drink it and I Unilocaled it!( ) The service was okay. A little indifferent, but not unfriendly. The place is very simple and perhaps a borderline whole in the wall-ish place. That being said, they make a good gyro sandwich with a lot of good gyro meat.

Delicious Greek chicken. Wonderful potato salad. Great prices. Friendly service. One of the best baklavas I’ve had in a restaurant. I just keep coming back. You can get whole and half Greek chickens to take home also.
