Wings are good. Some of the flavors are overly spicy to me and of course salty. The fried pickles are very good. Was not impressed with the overpriced salads, but come on this is a wing joint. Have to knock off a star for the wings being overpriced. 6 wings for 10 bucks is ridiculous. Tuesday evenings when the wings are half price is about what they should be all the time. Oh well very nice place otherwise. Also it’s way too fucking loud in there with all the TVs blaring.

This place sucks. Talk about poor customer service. I placed an order of wings to go. 15 minutes later I arrived onsite, and the employee at the bar notifies me that the special does not apply to «to go» orders. It would have been nice to know this before placing the order. The employee calls the person that took my order and he claims that he notified me over the phone. I kept insisting that he did not and he asked that I pay full price. What bothered me the most was his tone and his way to go about the situation. I will never return to this location. Horrible service.

I’ve been to this location several times since they opened and I’ve been quite pleased with their food. Fun spot to watch an Aztecs game or pop in for an adult beverage before heading to a game at State. I really like the wings, tried a bunch of flavors and they are all good. I’d give it 5 stars but it’s a little expensive for what it is.(Half off wings on Tuesdays!)

It should be noted that this review is for this location in particular. LOCATION: The one thing I prefer at this location that I do in PB is that it is so much more spacious. They have booths, high tables, tables for big groups, and the bar. They also have their own parking lot which is great compared to finding street parking in PB but with the size of the restaurant I can imagine that it would not be enough during busy hours. The service was okay here and nothing noteworthy enough for me to mention. FOOD: The most recent time I went during the Tuesday half off wings deal and got the dirty ranch, spicy garlic, and garlic parm. The dirty ranch is definitely not as good as the PB location. It almost seems like there was too much ranch and not enough flavor. The spicy garlic was delicious though, the spice was a great level as well as the amount of garlic. I also ordered the garlic parmesan tater tots but wish I just got the regular. For 2 extra dollars they sprinkled some parmesan cheese and random hints of garlic, definitely not worth it. All in all, I might go again if I’m craving some wings but I’m not itching to go any time soon.

My love for Dirty Birds is well known(even though the PB location is a Ravens bar. Boo.) This location did not disappoint. We came in on a random day off, mid-afternoon. The service was great, friendly, attentive, conversational. The team that runs(ran?) the PB location stopped in for some business, and despite us not being back there often since our move out of PB5+ years ago, they recognized us and said hello. That should tell you something about how much we love the wings! Ha. Anyway, the wings were as good as expected. What I liked more about this location, though, was the Marshall Faulk/Tony Gwynn wall. Great way to honor to legends, especially since both had a tenure at SDSU. Someone mentioned that Marshall invested in this location as a way to give back to the area he called home when at State, but that may have just been an urban legend. I don’t know. Unlike the PB location, I wouldn’t make a special trip but ONLY because the College Area just isn’t a place I’d make a special trip to(vs. the beach.) It’s worth it for the wings. :)

If I can give this place a zero I would. Worst service I have ever had in a restaurant EVER. I came here for the last mcgreggor fight and it was horrible. First of all they charge you to get in which was fine but then as soon as we sat down no one came to take our order we only received water. Then 40 mins later our waitress tells us we need to order drinks or we have to leave. Well you never came back to ask us for our orders so how can we order drinks?! And the rudely ask us to leave? And force every one to buy a drink. And on a night we pay to get in? Screw this place horrible and rude service never returning again. Save yourself & go to the pb location I rather drive all the way over there then come back here.

Came for half off wings on Tuesday. It’s a nicer and more spacious place compared to the one in PB, but customer service is slower. Waited for the hostess about 10 minutes before being seated(although there are a plenty of seating). The room is decorated with TV all over the walls, so that’s awesome to watch sports. Wings are as good as the one in PB, so no complain there. Will come back on some tuesdays for the wing tuesday deal.

Definitely my go to sports wing bar. Unlike BWW, the waitresses here are very attentive and the environment is very welcoming. Game requests, choice of seating, etc… Very accommodating. The waitresses are very nice. LIKEVERYNICE. The wings are plumped and flavorful. Lots of flavored to choose from. My favorites are the Flaming hot mustard and dirty blue. Give them all a try if you have the chance! They have specials everyday so be sure to check out their offers prior to going. I usually go during 50% off wings which is all day Tuesday and 3 – 6 on other week days. Great place for friends to grab a bite, kids for a family outing. any reason really! If you’re a monster, they do offer all you can eat wings on Mondays. Great selection on beer as well. Cheers!

If you want great wings in SD this is a place to definitely try. Large wings, not breaded, and a lot of sauce and rub options to choose from. You’ll definitely find something you like. Most sauces/rubs I’ve tried I liked. If you want something other then buffalo, I recommend the dirty jerk or Seoul. And don’t forget a side of season fries(pretty large portion so 2 can share). They have tons of other menu options besides wings but I haven’t tried them, because the wings are that good. A great place to satisfy your wing cravings.

Took less than 5 minutes to get our wings /drinks. Overall the wings were pretty good and crunchy(but a little salty for my taste). The 5 wing meal only comes with 1 celery and 1 carrot and costs $ 7. But, then it took them 30 minutes to get our bananas foster dessert(which was delicious). Then took another 10 minutes to get our check. All while the place was half empty. Great place to watch a few sports since they have at least 25 TVs all around. Parking could be tough since the lot is fairly small.

Tuesdays is hlf off wings. We ordered the 20 piece & added one more flavor to make it 4 different flavors for $ 1 more. 3 Pete bbq, Seoul, Dirty Ranch, & the Habanero Lime wings was what we decided on. The guy who brought them out said the flavors so quick so we couldn’t figure out which was which since the 3 pete and habanero lime looked the same to me. Overall, it was good but we did taste a hint of lime on a few so we ended up finding out which ones were what. I will be back to try the pizza and other flavors.

I usually get scared when going to a wing place because I don’t know when to quit if they are good. Unfortunately most wing places in SD are nothing to talk about. Well, this place should fear me because(tip) they have all you can eat wing night. They didn’t call me ChickenWingBling on Xbox Live for nothin’. Ain’t no Thang but a Chickenwanng… but the Wings here are The Thing. Very Very Good. What makes ‘em good? Must be something in the chicken! Well me and my cousin downed 82 wings… we left kind of full but wasn’t all you can eat so we decided to hold off for another night. Tried alot of flavors but the best we had hands down were the Seoul Wings. My 2nd favorite were the Garlic Parmesan. Service was polite, nice and quick and sadly the place is understaffed but still everything was good and fast. Extra tips: Great for watching Sports games(aka it passes Wing Place rule #2). Plenty of Tv’s Probably gets pretty packed with College kids on certain days This location is much bigger inside than the PB location. For minors come here late night as it is not 21+ like PB this place is in a shady area of El Cajon so if you want a better outside environment go to PB location The Seoul Wings come with a lot of Sauce so if you order another wing flavor you are not quite feeling just dip it in that as that’s a for sure rescue! Don’t waste your breath on appetizers or salads, they sound great but are whatever… go for the WINGS

Wings good Pizza good Prices are a little steep and the cheese steak was flat out the worst sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. I think Pat or Gino would die rather than eat that sandwich. It really should be called something else entirely. I would have sent it back but unfortunately I took it to go.

Similar with Buffalo Wild Wings, but here, they have more favors for the wings(I think 37 favors). Really impress by this place :) We came on Friday evening but it was not so crowded, I think because it’s grand new opening. But I love the service. Our waitress is super nice, energetic and helpful. I love their General Bird and Jalapeño wings!!! But the only thing that I give them 4 star is because they should have more spicy favor level. Even though I tried the most spicy one, it’s not satisfied me(and I usually go mild for hot pot and most of the food.) The parking is a little bit hard to find the spot too…

I was almost nervous about going here since the PB location is just so great. Really it’s better then great, so why change a good thing? Pros: I live so much closer to the college location. Parking is about a million times better then PB.(Some people are complaining about the parking lot, when you don’t have to do circles for half an hour near the beach. I’ll take a small parking lot any day!) The food is still AMAZING!!! Cons: You could tell they were training some of the staff so everyone was all over the place. One server I recognized from the PB location seem to be carrying the load while trying to direct everyone else where to go. Other then the staff training this place seems amazing!!! Just the like PB location but bigger! Shorter waits but the best part is still the same great wings!

I’ve already waxed lyrically about the OG Dirty Birds location in Pacific Beach, as Dirty Birds provides the undisputed BEST chicken wings in San Diego. The only thing I was really asking for with the new spot was the same quality as the OG spot… and that is EXACTLY the case here. Hell, it had actually been a while since I had been to Dirty Birds at all, so it was quite wonderful to sink my teeth into dem wings drizzled with Dirty Ranch sauce. Some other notes: 1. The SDSU crowd hasn’t quite meandered over here on a consistent basis yet. If you appreciate a non-busy version of Dirty Birds, get over here ASAP because I have a feeling this location will blow up soon. 2. OMGACCESSIBLEPARKING!!! Ok, there isn’t that much, but it’s a hell of a lot better than the parking situation in PB(a.k.a. good luck lmao). 3. Thankfully, the size of the location is at least triple the size of the original location. For those people who think this place is not popping when it is only half full… come on an NFL Sunday and we’ll see about that. I’m actually kind of glad I don’t live in San Diego anymore, because I am pretty sure that if I did I would regain all that weight I worked so hard to get rid of. Dirty Birds is the truth!

Came in here last night for the first time and was extremely pleased with food and service. And the happy hour deals are great! It is a seat your self place so might take a little while to get a waitress’s attention on busy nights. Since school hasn’t started yet our service was great and the food came out really fast, like 5 minutes fast! We ordered 20 wings and with that you may choose up to 4 different sauces. Also got a basket of fries which were delicious! I ordered a Summer Breeze which tasted like just alcohol. Will definitely come back!

I’m a huge fan of the PB location & I was excited to hear of a location opening closer to home. The biggest draws to this location is it’s bigger and had better parking. Watch that dip on the corner, it’s a doozey! Can in on a Friday afternoon ~ ½ price wings from 3 to 6. We ordered 5 different flavors. Some of the wings were over cooked and under sauced compared to PB. The drink and beer selection is different. I get it, catering to different crowds. I asked if they had Stella Cider draft and was told«No». I assumed they didn’t have a draft cider since she didn’t offer an alternative. I was kinda bummed when I noticed they have Angry Orchard on my way back from the restroom. That’s what I get for assuming I suppose. The wings come with the usual carrots, celery and a side of bleu cheese(you can ask for ranch) but I never dip these wings in sauce. The sauces they use taste great without it. Plenty of open seating and tv’s from wall to wall. Perfect for catching a game.

LOVE this new location! LOTS of seating and a decent amount of parking with plenty of spots on the street right behind it. Ample seating from the bar to high tops to booths, and there are literally TV’S EVERYWHEERRRREE. And if you ask nicely, than you might even get your game on a TV in front of you. Sometimes when a restaurant decides to expand, I feel like there is a pattern of the food quality going down but that’s not the case here. Our favorite items: –Flaming Honey Mustard –Seoul Wing –Tots They have a pretty promising pizza menu so we’ll definitely have to try one out one of these days. side note: i’m giving them benefit of the doubt because any place that is newly opened is going to have to smooth out some kinks and get on a roll. Kinks like: the food taking forever, not being able to track our server down when we needed something, our bill taking a long time to get back to us. Unless i was REALLY craving I would probably just go during happy hour as its quite pricey, with the exception that we go for a UFC fight or good game: D *expect at least a $ 5 cover charge for pay-per-view fights* Its actually a further drive for me to go this location but I prefer it to the PB one. Apparently, a Liberty Station location will also be opening soon! Same great food and even better vibes than the original location.

My friends have been telling me to try Dirty Birds for some time and this newer location was very close to work today, so I figured why not just stop in. So, the short of it is these are the BEST wings I’ve ever had! No question about it. Okay, so why do I say they are the best? Read on… I read a previous review stating this location was new and parking wasn’t a problem. Well, the word is out because parking is definitely a challenge here. And I would note the restaurant wasn’t even half full. It’s more of a sports bar and I counted 21 flat screens that line almost every inch of the walls so if you want a place to watch a game with great food, this is the place. There are bar tables, long tables, picnic style tables and even booths. I sat down and my server(Samantha) greeted me. She took my drink order and gave me a menu to browse. Well, this is far from being your typical wing place because the choices seem endless as to the different flavors you can order your wings. It was a bit overwhelming so I asked Samantha for a recommendation and she was extremely helpful. Most servers will help you pick something out or just tell you everything is good, but she really seems to know the wings here and was able to tell me about several before I settled on what I wanted. The smallest portion size was five wings so I tried two different flavors: «Dirty Bleu» and«Maple Chipotle BBQ». I had also heard they have a good Mac n Cheese so I ordered an appetizer of this. I was checking out the restaurant and watching a little college hoops when the Mac n Cheese came out. It’s a small bowl that certainly just the right size for one. It looks pretty good, but it tastes even better! The macaroni was sort of a shell type and just the right texture. But the cheese! Wow, it was really cheesy and as I took bites, the cheesy became all stringy hanging from the macaroni. Always a sign of good cheese! I hadn’t planned on eating it all. I just wanted to sample it, but it was so good I ended up finishing it off. Next came the wings. They were together on one plate but separated by carrot and celery sticks and a cup of blue cheese dressing. However, I don’t think you need any dressing for dipping when you have these wings. They are incredibly flavorful! The Dirty Bleu are covered in their own home-made bleu cheese dressing. And the Maple Chipotle BBQ were both a bit sweet and spicy. So, if these are the BEST chicken wings ever, why only 4 stars? Okay, parking is a problem. But not much they can do about that. The prices are good but I asked for ‘flat’ wings only, no drumsticks and they charged me more for that. I don’t know of any other place that charges more when ordering flats only and no drumsticks. Last, and my own biggest personal pet peeve, styrofoam to-go containers! Sorry to those who have heard me rant about this before, but to the owners, you have to get rid of the styrofoam to-go containers. You cannot recycle these in San Diego. There is no facility that takes them. Yet there ARE manufacturers in San Diego that make the recyclable containers. And I’ve personally priced them out and it would only cost a few cents more than the styrofoam containers. Now, given the fact that you don’t mind charging me $ 1 more when ordering flats only, I think you could easily pass along the 10 cents it would cost you to switch to recyclable containers. And don’t kid yourself, it won’t be long before styrofoam containers are banned in San Diego so why not make the switch now? Again, the BEST wings I’ve ever had. And the service is great! Samantha was super nice helping me pick out some incredible wings. Fun place to go and I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other flavors. I already told four of my friends about this place and planning the next visit! Go with a big group so you can order lots of flavors and share.

I’ve always wanted to check out the location in PB but never came around to doing it. Then I found out that they opened up a new location next to my house and I was so excited! It was so good that I went here twice in one week! Restaurant: Nice big parking lot in the same plaza as Zodiak Hookah Lounge. It’s very big and spacious. Lots of bar seating, tables, and booths. Great for small and large groups. They have flat screen tvs on deck! Literally multipple tvs no matter which way you are faced. Great place to go to watch football games and UFC fights. Service: Everyone here is friendly. Mostly younger female waitresses and male bartenders/hostesses. Food: Sampler Appetizer Platter $ 14 (Choose 4 items, my choice: Pulled Pork Sliders, Mozzarella Sticks, Mac & Cheese Balls, Tator Tots) The pulled pork sliders were pretty standard. Similar to hawaiian buns with pulled pork meat and coleslaw. The mozzarella sticks were yummy along with the marinara sauce provided. The mac & cheese balls were not good because the cheese is so dry. And the tator tots are good. I highly recommend just getting the garlic parmesan tator tots because its super flavorful and crispy. Garlic Parmesan Wings I always have to get garlic parmesan whereever I go because its a standard flavor thats always good. These ones did not disappoint. Nice texture and good flavor. Apple Bourbon Chipotle Wings These were also really good. Tastes like sweet bbq with a light spicy kick. Seoul Wings These were a little bit more spicier but tasted like sweet asian bbq. Flaming Honey Mustard Wings These were my absolute favorite! So much flavor. More sweet with a light mustard flavor and a slight spicy kick. Green Machine Wings These were the worst. I was hoping to get like a creamy sauce but it was the complete opposite. Not only were the wings soggy, but there was barely any flavor. It’s just like green mexican hot sauce that you would find at a mexican shop. Not good at all. Drinks: Moscow Mule Tastes like your average mule. Slightly strong. Sad there was no actual mint leaves in it though. Summer Breeze Cocktail This drink tastes sour and watered down. Don’t recommend it. Overall, it’s a great place to go for wings because they have so many flavors to choose from! But I don’t recommend getting the cocktails because they really did suck. I would drink beer from here only from now on. TIPS: 1. On special game days or fight days, it’s $ 5 cover from 5−6pm and $ 10 cover after 6pm. 2. They do free raffles on these special days which is cool. They give out free drinks/food. 3. You can add an extra flavor to your choices for an extra $ 1. 4. They have happy hour half off wings! Not sure what time exactly but mid afternoon.

Dirty Birds is aight. They’re still new, and definitely still have some kinks to work out. But overall an A-OK location to come for wings. There’s a lot of places for wings in this area they’re competing with for best wings, so although a solid option — they will remain a 3 in my book for now. Our 1st visit was a rough one. My boyfriend & I were carded at the door, then carded again when we sat down at the table(we’ve been doubled-carded in many instances since — so their system still needs to be fine-tuned. But I get it. It’s still just a tad annoying to be ID’d, then put your ID away in your purse, then to have to dig around for it again when your server comes to the table… sigh*). They were busy & are new, so we waited quite awhile before ever being acknowledged by a server. After the acknowledgement phase we waited another long while before being able to order. My routine at any new place is to try out a several new things and/or whatever the restaurant is known for/would recommend to someone as their first visit. Our poor waitress failed miserably at this, to a point where it was almost comical :/ US: We’d like to order anything on draft, can you make a recommendation. WAITRESS: Sorry, I don’t drink. US: No worries,(2 Belching Beaver’s ordered here). We would also like to start off with an appetizer… do you have a favorite? WAITRESS: No, I haven’t really had a chance to try most of things on the menu… US: *Ordered placed for Dirty Chicken Fries*($ 9) US: How about the wings,($ 12⁄10 wings) can you recommend any of the best sauces or rubs? WAITRESS: I’m actually a vegetarian… so I haven’t tried anything on this menu really. ME: ***GIRL! YOUEITHERNEEDTOLEARNTOLIEORMAKE A RECOMMENDATIONBASEDOFFWHATYOURGUESTSAREORDERINGIFYOUAREGOINGTOMAKEITAS A VEGETARIANWAITRESSIN A WINGPLACE.*** (Note to reader: these last words were not said. But I’m pretty sure a face-palm did happen.) To sum up this night. Our food took FOREVER! And my wings came out ice cold.(Not even sure how that was possible.) Our server was never again seen, so I had to pull some other poor girl to address the problem, in which case — my wings were fixed so fast, I was almost suspicious.(How did this literally take 3 secs to get fresh new wings when it took 45min to get wings and fries the 1st round?) The Dirty Fries were yummy. We would order them again. The wings(once properly served) dirty ranch & garlic buffalo were also great. With 2 beers, 10 wings and dirty chicken fries — i think our bill was near $ 35-$ 40. So the price, compared to other wing places around the area is a little steep for wings & apps. In fact, all of their apps are steep to be considered apps. Everything is like $ 9 – 12. When I think apps I think small(size & $$) to snack on before our food. Since I’ve been back, I’ve tried a Buffalo Chicken sandwich. Very dry, on a weird«hot-dog stylish» bun/roll. Wasn’t impressed. And I’ve ordered wings to go. Wings ToGo were ok. I also didn’t know where to pick up my food, and there wasn’t a server or door person in site to ask. Hahahah, I accidentally asked some drunken guy standing by the door that looked like he could possibly work there and he made a snide remark that his guess was a good as mine. Super embarrassing. So overall, long review short — just OK for now. I hope things will step up.

I’m a total dirty bird newbie. For some reason I have never been to their mission beach location. I came here on a Tuesday night which just so happened to be half off wings night which was a total bonus! I ordered my wings naked with a couple different sauces on the side. They came out hot and fresh and they were seasoned and crispy. Very very tasty wings in my book. The Mac and cheese def took me by surprise. They were good! Way better than I expected. The fries were really good too and came out piping hot and deliciously seasoned. Overall a great place for bar food grub

Although this location offers pizza and a few other items that the P.B. does not, it is still all about the wings here. I came on ½ off all wings day, which is normally held on Tuesday, but I had it on Wednesday, not that I am complaining of course. I ordered 10 wings, half Lemon and Pepper and the other half dry rubbed with Old Bay with a side of macaroni and cheese I may add. The wings came to $ 6 and the mac at $ 4. The wings were good and I liked them but they still needed some fine tuning. First of all, they were over done and the meat was not and tender and juicy as it should of been. Some of the wing end’s were simply burnt. Also, the lemon pepper wings were over seasoned and I needed to, with a paper towel, rub off the excess seasoning. The old bay wings were a little better, but still had a lot of seasoning on them, hence a lot of salt too. The definitely need to watch the amount of time the wings spend in the fryer and ease up on that seasoning. In the end, the wings were good, but could of been much better. The mac and cheese was not particularly amazing, but it was good. Even though the pasta was over done, I did appreciate that they used a larger elbow pasta. They applied a good amount of cheese on the mac and with a bit of seasoning as well. They baked the cheese upon delivery, so the mac and cheese arrived piping hot. My server was Reyna and she was terrific. She had a friendly personality and was in good spirits. Service was on point too. This location has a lot more space and televisions.

This new location definitely lives up to the awards all of its other locations have to offer. Still some of(if not the) best wings I’ve had in San Diego/Southern California. The new location is located in a pretty small plaza area with a bit of packed parking, but there’s always the neighborhood street nearby. Ambience inside is the perfect college-esque being so near San Diego State(AZTECSFORLIFE!), and its walls are decked with our«I Believe That We Will Win» chant alongside other sports legends, jerseys, and an ample amount of large TVs surrounding the room for sports all day. Restaurant is a solid size, many booths, high tables, bar space — overall great for groups. Came on a Tuesday and wings are all ½ off. Flavors are phenomenal just because they’re not greasy, but are packed with a kick no matter your selection. Baskets come with celery, carrots, ranch — the usuaaaaal. Menu is pretty vast depicting all the spice levels, popularity-etc. & I also just loved they made some college-spirited drink names(I.e — The Walk of Shame hahaaha). Overall kickass job on creating a new space in the College area to enjoy drinks, food, sports, and socializing with everyone.
