Explorer’s Reef

Explorers Reef is an amazing way to start your day at Seaworld. Right when you walk in the gates there are four tanks for visitors to interact with sea life animals. My son loves to see the bamboo sharks. They have two tanks of bamboo sharks. In these tanks there are brown banded, white spotted and epaulet bamboo sharks. Visitors are allowed to pet using two fingers down the back of the shark. During the day they are pretty much still and easy to touch. As the sun goes down they swim all over the tanks and the sharks even «jump» between the deep end and the petting area. Definitely check this out as you leave. There is one tank with cleaner fish, my son calls them tickle fish as they tickle when they clean you. There is also one tank with horseshoe crabs, guitar fish and rays. You are allowed to touch all with two fingers. This is an awesome experience and should not be missed.

— Gluttony Expedition —
Even the first exhibit you see in Sea World isn’t a half ass! This is so fun! You can touch several ocean creatures — including «cleaner fish».
You put your hand into the water and hold still. «Cleaner fish» will swarm up on your hands and clean up your dead skins. Very tickle yet fun!
There’s a washing station for this type of «touching the creature» exhibits — you can wash your hands after you touch the creatures!
*** FYI ***
«Fish Spa» (put your feet into the tab full of these fish, then the fish would eat off your dead skins to clean your feet) is getting the popularity lately. I thought it was in Korean only, yet even UK got the popularity. However, the risk of infection recently caused 14 US states to ban fish spas. A customer steps into the spa water and if, unfortunately, he or she happens to have an infectious wound, the infection can definitely spread to other people who step into that very same spa tank. It doesn’t necessarily work, but it’s kinda fun and weird way to clean your feet off ;p
