Showed up at 10:25pm when the hours say 11pm they close. Was going to pop in have a beer while I waited for my friends flight to come in. Very disappointing when a business doesn’t stand by there posted hours.

Attended a paint night here with great friends! Come here before 7pm for happy hour deals. I wouldn’t drive out of my way to dine here because they are understaffed. Great selection of wine if you’re a wine lover!

Had my graduation party here and had lots of fun! The food was great and the beer and wine selection was just as good! They catered to our every need and made sure everyone was taken care of! Will definitely consider this venue for future events!

My husband and I ate here for lunch/drinks a few weeks ago. First walking in the room is not inviting, the layout is very awkward and none of the staff even acknowledged our existence. We had to force ourselves into two women staffer’s conversation, upon which they said sit anywhere but only if your 21(in a condescending tone). So we did and waited at the bar while we were ignored for a solid five minutes. Finally when the bartender bothered to make eye contact with us, the first thing he said«can I see your ids» no hi or how are you? To be clear I get we’re in our twenties and being IDed doesn’t bother me but the attitude and just complete unfriendliness was completely off putting from the get go. We ended up ordering two beers and some apps. Food and drink were just fine albeit over priced. We were never offered refills and literally this all that was said to us by the bartender(who was also our server) the entire time: «can i see your ids» and«what will you have.» Our check was just dropped there, no thank you or any In-between pleasantries. It was so awful, uncomfortable, and genuinely surprising that we will never go back here. Side note it was not busy at all there were literally three other parties(sets of twos and a four) in the whole place.

I was out on a date at this place a couple months ago, really nice location and view. I am a non drinker so the overwhelming flow of wine and drinks had my eyes going crazy, but my food was great. service was OK, they were busy and I think the waitress was making eyes with my date. I didn’t care, I was in for a free meal, the guy was loser anyway.

I came with 5 workers for SD burger week. 3 got the $ 5 Wagyu burger special, one got the $ 10 burger and I got the grilled cheese. All of use disliked our food. My friends who got the burger said it was pretty damn bad. My grilled cheese was one of the worser grilled cheese I’ve had and it was $ 10. The pickle that came with the sandwich smelled funny and was bad. How does one mess up a pickle? And we aren’t even picky eaters! The venue is super super cool though, but that was definitely the only up-side to our experience here. The food needs a MAJOR facelift. Sorry 57!

Came here for Burger week, $ 5 ½ pound wagyu beef burger topped with blue cheese. Our waitress said it came out medium unless specified. I asked for medium rare, my friend said medium was fine, but when the two burgers came to the table, i asked which was the medium rare, he said they all have to be cooked to at least a medium. Hmm. The beef patty was rather dry and cooked to a medium well, my friend had the same comment too, she said she had to dowse it with ketchup. It also didn’t look like a half pound burger but i guess with wagyu maybe a lot of it is lost in cooking due to the high fat content and they probably cooked it all out. I don’t care for a strong blue cheese and i was going to ask for a different cheese but i forgot, luckily it was pretty mild. Over all the burger was a bit plain, only cheese and onions, no lettuce or tomato or any kind of spread. I’m guessing the theory is they don’t want to mask the wagyu but when you cook it till it dries out you want a juicy tomato or spread to give it some moisture. The burger was okay, but nothing special, just a few things could make it much better. I guess its a wine bar not a burger joint. If i had to make a comparison, I’d say it was slightly better than Carls Jr. but not better than In N out. I just wish that the burger was better; food does drive alcohol sales and vice versa. Also keep in mind that there are 2 separate menus. When i told a coworker i was coming here, he said, «i was just there last month, i didn’t see a burger» i didn’t find it on the menu either till i found the other menu. Odd that they would have 2 menus floating around. I did like the venue, its a nice big open space, i guess its more of a wine bar, there are lots of wine options as well as about 12+ craft beers on tap. There is a nice view and lots of parking which is always a plus, it would be a great place to rent out for a private event. Besides the inconstancy of what doneness burgers can be done at, there were no complaints about service.

My boyfriend and I went to 57 degrees for the burger week special. I was super excited because it was supposed to be a wagyu burger. The burger was terrible– dry, tough, and flavorless. If that burger was actually made of wagyu, it was a waste of good meat. In terms of service, it was slow even though there were maybe 10 other people in the 9,500 sq foot space. Compared to the burgers we’ve had at Carnitas Snack Shack and Garage, the burger at 57 degrees is a distant last. I’m actually upset that we even paid the discounted 5 dollar price for those charred pieces of scrap meat.

My review only goes towards the food and customer service. When I went with my boyfriend, there wasn’t a lot of people, which kind of made me anxious to go in. Plus, it was open seating in a very open and spacious restaurant/store. My best advice is to go sit at the bar and talk to the bartender. I didn’t catch his name(he worked at 1 pm today) and he was very friendly and informational. I came here as part of the SD Burger Week. The burgers were so juicy and the blue cheese really complimented the burger. The bun was also warm and toasted. I also loved the thin slices of red onions to cut through fattiness of the burger. Happy Hour on Saturdays is from 12 – 4 pm for select beers. They’re only $ 5 per glass! I ordered a red sangria. It was a little too cinnamon-y for my taste, but it was also only $ 5(some restaurants over-charge for sangrias). I also ordered parmesan truffle fries. I couldn’t really taste the truffle flavor but I loved the garlic aioli on the side. They were warm and fresh out of the fryer. I cannot attest to some of the events I’ve read on this Unilocal review, which is why I suggest reading other reviews before you head there. Food quality and service was great in my opinion. With that being said, the venue was on the emptier side.

Last Friday night I went to a wine and painting class at Fifty Seven Degrees. I arrived early, coming directly from work, so I sat at the bar and decided to order some wine and food. I was excited to check out this bar for the first time, but unfortunately, I was not impressed. I was greeted when I first sat down, and was given menus. No one told me about any of the happy hour deals, so right off the bat, my glass of wine cost $ 15. In fact, all the wines on the list were either $ 12 or $ 15. After my first glass, I later found out that they offer a red and a white for $ 5 each for happy hour. It would have been nice to know. Later, when trying to order food and a second glass, it was nearly impossible to get the attention of a bartender. Even getting napkins was a challenge. I ordered the Arancini, which were ok. They were better than they look(see photo). I really got the impression that the food was kind of an afterthought. Later, during the wine and painting class, a server only came by once. Again, it was nearly impossible to order a drink. They just didn’t seem to eager to sell anything at this place. It is too bad, as it really is a big, beautiful wine bar, with plenty of parking in a great location. Truthfully, with the poor services and expensive wine, I will pick a different location for my next painting class.

Stopped in with my girlfriend on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy Happy Hour; there was a wine & paint session going on and some type of onesie party. We grabbed two stools at the bar and waited about ten minutes for the bartender with the shaved head to serve the woman who was standing next to me, so we left. I guess she looked a lot thirstier than we did. First and last time at this dump, off to Ballast Point.

Went to a networking event today at 57 Degrees Wine Emporium. I had a salad which was fine. What was NOT cool was that they passed on to me a torn $ 5.00 bill that I didn’t catch until I had already left. No one will take this bill now, so now I’m out an extra $ 5.00. So disappointed with the apparent lack of integrity…

Had our work Christmas party here and the consensus says it was the best Christmas party we’ve ever had. The place was comfortable and the atmosphere was laid back. They also have good wine and beer selections. Meatballs, garlic fries, assorted flat breads & appetizer spread was a hit. Pulled pork was a little dry, but it was still okay. Staff was really friendly. Carly was so helpful and our event was more than what we expected with the budget we gave her.

A great wine spot that happens to have great beer. There are a few large tvs, billiards, cornhole and some other miscellaneous games but make no mistake this place is gorgeous and immaculate. Tons of space and I’ve heard great things about the food but we are saving that for next time.

Today I went to Exceptional Entrepreneurs a meeting that helps business owners like myself learn to improve their business… its on The meeting was held at 57 degrees on Washington. A very large open restaurant that encourages group meetings. It has helped me pursue my business dream of hypnosis… I ordered a pastrami sandwich today that was out of this world. Their prices are very reasonable and the restaurant is very beautiful and clean. Their wine selection is amazing as well as their choices of beers. Beautiful big bar in the center of the room. You can also play pool there lots of room for games lots of big leather chairs around for chatting. So it’s a good room for a large crowd Marilyn Salerno

Hosted one of our Open that Bottle night here. Great support for the event from Carly and her team. I asked them to choose the wines for us using a price and varietal guidelines. They chose several lovely wines for us, service was excellent. The space is good but it can get hard to hear one another.

Best and biggest wine bar in San Diego with very good food as well. Large, 9500 square foot wine bar that has something for everybody. Is a combination retail wine store, wine bar – with wine by the glass, craft beer, and sangria – and restaurant. Nice long bar to socialize at while watching a football game on multiple TV’s along with private areas that can cater to groups, as well as a gaming area that includes a pool table. Wine storage facilities available for rent. They recently purchased a restaurant next door and serve very good food. Highly recommend the fried green tomatoes in a delicious red sauce as well as their steak frites. They also have a meat and cheese board, flatbreads, paninis and other delectable goodies. Food is very good tasting, good portion size, and very reasonably priced. Nice central location with its own parking lot. Also minutes away by foot from a convenient trolley stop. Nice mixed age, adult acting crowd(the opposite of the douchey filled downtown/Gaslamp crowd).

Great happy hour and ambience and staff! Swung by for a drink with a friend, but wasn’t sure what to expect. It was exactly what I wanted. Not packed to the gills with cheesy crowd, but definitely popular and busy. Staff was knowledgeable and super friendly and happy hour deals were sweet! This is a must – easy parking, great location, awesome selection and deals. Winning!

This place is huge. They have a bar, a lounge area, a wine store, a patio, pool table, bean toss, and you can reserve an area for your party. It’s big. My friend had her birthday there and her party was sectioned off with tables and a sign for her birthday. Also, she ordered appetizers for the party which was provided on a table with all the plates, napkins and utensils. Strictly wine and beer sold here. Their wine by the glass was pretty expensive($ 10) so I stuck to the beer selection($ 6). It was a Friday night and they had a DJ. There wasn’t necessarily a dance floor even though the place is big enough. It’s just so spread out so it wasn’t crowded with people for a Friday night. Different groups were in the different sectioned off areas. They close at midnight on Fridays even though Unilocal says 11pm so you can call it an early night or walk to another bar. I only tried their sliders which weren’t bad. I believe it was pulled pork with some kind of coleslaw. On the appetizer table they had bread with hummus available as well. They have parking lot in the back and some people parked right in front on the street. We didn’t have any issues finding parking. Their AC turns on and off or maybe the place was just too big to keep cool, but it was warm in there for some of the time. It helps to sit close to the patio area or in the patio area in the evening.

I ordered meatballs. An hour later, they still hadn’t come and I had to go track down the server/bartender to see what was up. He informed me that they were out and that he «meant to find» me and tell me. Lame. I canceled the order. I expected him to offer up a free dish or a beer or something but no such offer was made. The problem here isn’t really the service(although its not great), as other reviews claim, it’s the set up. This place is part bar, part restaurant, part winery and part bottle shop. The employees have to oversee every aspect of it and it doesnt work because theyre spread too thin. The guy forgot my food, but he was also waiting tables, serving drinks and ringing people up for their wine. This place could use some reorganization.

UPDATE: Been here a few times. An most recently dropped by for lunch on the 4th of July. Surprisingly, it wasn’t busy considering it was a holiday and most people were at the beach. Parking was easy(usually hard to find) So my fiancée’ and i basically had the whole place to ourselves along with a couple other customers. Atmosphere: open venue. large enough to host parties of all sorts. booth chairs. full wine/beer bar. 2 tv’s. pool tables. bean bag toss game. wine bottles galore for purchase. art paintings as well. a decent patio with a view of lindbergh field. a very nice vibe and ambiance to come hangout. Service: 2 bartenders at the time. Friendly and knew great recommendations and info on beers and cheese plate. Food: Cheese Platter: 4 different cheeses(4yr aged gouda, firehouse cheese, sage cheddar, cheese from france can’t remember the name), honey, almonds, cranberries, crackers, sliced baguette. $ 22 but basically feeds 4 or more people. abundant portion. great quality cheeses. Flight of Beers $ 10 last time i was here they had a full board of beers but this time about half of the board was filled. –Modern times black house coffee stout 5.8% coffee taste with a sweet finish.(one of the best coffee stouts ive tried yet) –Redheaded hopchild hoppy red 6.8% nice beginning watery finish –Relay IPA7.2% mild dank aroma. Slight bitter bite. smooth taste finish –Aftershock d.c. doubbel vission Belgian strong 9.3% nice slight sour beginning but syrupy finish. –lost abbey judgement day quadruple 10.5% great beginning and finish. Caramel taste with spices. Overall: Still an awesome place. Friendly service. Great wine and beer selection. Awesome ambiance. My apologies 57 degrees, that review was meant for Seasons 52… I got confused. Here is my review of the spacious fun 57 Degrees. I’ve been here a few times. I’ve had the yummy cheeseboard accompanied with the oh so good meatballs. The meatballs are a bit tiny but come with an olive andva tiny piece of bread. They are vry good. I had the buffalo chicken sliders also. They were super duper über spicy. They have a nice selection of IPA’s and of course excellent wine options. The pool table is vrrryy niiiiice. They also had a huge corn hole game but not sure if its still there. There are cushy couches everywhere. My only con is it can get pricey fast.

Bottomline: Don’t book an event here. I really hate to do this as I totally support the San Diego Brew Project that is located inside 57 Degrees. Also I’m just not a fan of negative reviews in general. However this is the third time I have been to 57 Degrees and despite all of the negative reviews they still have not improved their customer service. I even saw a negative review response on here from Carly the Business Manager of 57 Degrees calling a patron a drama queen. I’m not 100% clear of Carly’s role at 57 Degrees and I don’t want to single anyone out or get a specific person in trouble, but that is definitely not a great way to represent your employer. Other organizations I belong to have had issues with her when trying to book a private event, ranging from her lack of response, the fluctuation of price and availability of space or rental items or just plain rudeness. Every time I go, I try to give it a chance because everyone has a bad day and the life of an event planner(I think that’s one of her roles) can be very challenging, but I have been disappointed again and again. I studied viticulture and enology at UCDavis and I like a ton of different wines, but I remain unimpressed with their selection. Even most of the bartenders are good at their jobs, but if the management is a downer it brings the staff down as well. The atmosphere is very poor because it is so open and sparse. The furniture is dirty and not very well laid out. Since it is such a huge space they play their music too loudly so it is difficult to talk with anyone. The food is pretty terrible, but I don’t think they actually have a restaurant license so I guess it’s not their fault.

A good variety of wines and craft beers. Nothing that can’t be found most other places. Although, I must say, a friend mentioned a very obscure wine one night and as I strolled through the bottles for sale, I found it! Pretty weird. The Pastrami Panini was neither pastrami, nor Panini. It was more like a few slices of ham on toasted wheat bread. Say what? I ate the first quarter, then took the contents of the other three to build a decent fourth of a sandwich. I was starving so didn’t complain.
Good for large groups; that’s the only reason why I’d return. Not for the catering, which is basic at best, but for the room to mingle. Hire professionals to stage the furniture to make it more welcoming, for cryin’ out loud!

huge place, location is big enough to host an indoor shopping center. In fact, I first went here during a fashion/shop event. service was not spectacular, I purchased a split of the sparkling and an opened warm bottle was brought to me, it was flat and I couldn’t believe the bartender handed me and charged me for a bottle that someone had seemed to return. I know my sparkling, this split was not a fresh bottle. Horrific, I did speak up and was given a new fresh bottle. I returned here a few weeks later and realized their champagne selection is not bad, look in the coolers on the back and purchase a bottle. The corkage fee is not too bad and although the food isn’t great, the service was better the second time around.

Not a fan! We had a work event here and it was so hot! There does not seem to be A/C and the sun beams in and heats that place up– fast! If the place would have been cooler or they had shades to help with the heat, I would have given it 3 or 4 stars! The food seemed good, the display they gave us for the meeting was weak, I hope we didn’t spend a lot on it. Beer selection is great, the atmosphere seems fun, except we saw no one in any part other than the bar… odd set up. I will not be coming back, unless it’s a must.
