Simply amazing. Absolutely delicious food, and also some of the best customer service I have ever seen.

First time here! Impressed with the nice lady Jessica who was kind enough to go over the menu with me. It’s located conveniently in the food court right next door to the Navy Exchange on the dry side of Naval Base San Diego. Ohhh FYI my Burger was amazing!

This and North Island are the only food courts in a military exchange I’ve seen that have a Five Guys burger joint in them. Of course it’s not a joint but shares its seating area with the other edible offerings, hence the food court label. I gave them a try and it wasn’t bad. The burger was fresh and delicious, the fries were tasty as usual, and the only piece missing was the free peanuts with accompanied shells. The food court is convenient for patrons of the Navy Exchange and Five Guys is a step up from the typical hamburger. Five Guys Cajun fries are some of the best fries to be had out there anywhere. Note, a Junior burger is like a regular hamburger someplace else with one patty, and a hamburger from the menu has two patties. A regular order of fries is enough for two people. Also, expect to wait a few minutes because your burger is cooked when you order it. Enjoy.

Attention: for those of you who are slow, this location is INSIDE a naval base. You need an ID to get in. Anyway, guys here are very friendly and service is quick! Burgers a pretty huge even if you get a jr! But my favorite thing on the menu are the Cajun fries. Sooo good… And I love how they’ll fill your fries cup to the brim and then some. I like five guys, but if in n out ever made cajun fries though… Well… :P

I’ve always loved eating at five guys. This location is in the NEX and I’m satisfied as usual but I must say the more foods I try here in San Diego the food is mediocre compared to the different types of burgers I’ve had the opportunity to try. I still recommend this over the average chain of fast food restaurants.

Love their french fries! Everything made to perfection. Fast service, big servings, great prices, and fresh patties. It is way better than In-and-Out! Their burger joint is located within the SD naval base, which is more accessible to service members abd their families. I also like the concept of adding multiple ingredients like mushrooms without an additional cost. It is rewarding for burger lovers. I usually order their junior cheeseburger because their portion sizes are huge! Their patties are fresh and appear uneven but worth every bite. The french fries are also very crunchy and tastey. A single order is enough to feed two people since we get an extra serving of fries in the brown bag along with a full container worth of yums;D Or at least that is how it seems to be most of the time we dine in…

HEADSUP UnilocalERS, THIS5GUYSLOCATIONISFORNAVYONLY. Recently I wanted to eat a 5 Guys burger because I had only tried their burgers out once before. I also wanted to avoid their Hillcrest location because of the terrible customer service I remember having there years ago. After looking on Google, this location popped up as the most south 5 Guys to the Mexican-California border. I drove out of my way only to find out that it was located inside of the Navy base and only Navy personnel was allowed to eat at this location. After wasting my gas driving all the way to Southcrest/Logan Heights/Shelltown(or whichever ghetto neighborhood the Navy bases resides in) and then being hassled by Guards at the street I turned right not knowing it was Military occupied, really irked me. I really was expecting 5 Guys to be located somewhere near all the other fast food places that are in the area but this was not the case. Why couldn’t they have placed themselves next to the 20 other fast food places located outside the Navy Base? Bottom line is that I left hungry and raging that I had wasted my time and gas. I guess a few more years will pass by before I finally decide to search for another 5 Guys location other than this one and the Hillcrest store.

The burger was good… nothing to complain about that. What got under my skin was how long it took for my burger to be made. This was actually my first time in this food court(I still remember when it was still a Navel cafeteria back in the day) and I came here with family(siblings) for a little lunch after shopping at the Exchange next door. Anyways, we all went to our different restaurants(we all have different tastes) and I ordered a single Bacon Cheese Burger with Cajun Fries and a Coke Zero. As I stood there waiting… and waiting… and waiting, everyone else got their food and started eating without me. No biggie, cause I would probably meet them half way there(in other words, they would be half-way finished and I would soon join them.) That was not the case… It’s a good thing I’m pretty patient. I got my food, which was pretty darn good might I add, but they were already finished with their meals, so they sat with me and started picking on my Cajun Fries. All in all, FIVEGUYS wasn’t bad… they just need to work on their speed. Would I eat at this FIVEGUYS location… probably not(They seem a little more pricier than other FIVEGUYS restaurants and they don’t have the complimentary peanuts like the other FIVEGUYS have.) What should have easily been a 4 Star Rating(but loses a star for the slow service) …3 Stars!

WhatTheFudge… I’m not a big burger person — so friends are constantly trying to tell me 5Guys is THEEEE place to be to have a great burger in hopes of changing my mind about being the next burger chick to embrace the sexy commercials in which a hot chick is seen eating a anaconda sized burger with juicy ketchup dripping onto her DDD plastic boobs(well, in my case… it would probably be my belly or double chin) SO, long story short… I ordered a combo… and still wondering what all the hype about this place is about. For a second I thought i was eating In-N-Out food, then I realized«Who the heck gets WOW’d by a damn burger and fries combo anyways?» The customer service was excellent tho, oddly… there was literally 5 guys working(not sure if it was planned that way to match the name of the burger joint) at the end of my meal, i didn’t get any ketchup on my boobs, belly, or double chin… but some ketchup did land on my brand new boots… sigh…damn burger commercials Overall, this place ain’t bad — just not super GREAT that I’d go out my way to get.

I’ve been hearing about Five Guys Burgers for years but never was able to eat at one since I lived on the east coast. I was excited when I discovered one here in the food court. Finally I get to experience this incredible food! Unfortunately I ended up walking away rather disappointed. I’m not blaming this specific establishment, I think my expectations were simply built up by loyal customers who were raised eating FG. I probably have done the same to others while describing White Castle or In and Out. Even though the burger was fresh it’s taste did not match the price. $ 6.50 seems rather extravagant for what I got. I will admit the fries were pretty darn good and I do enjoy eating them out of the bag. Would I return again? Yes, but next time I’ll pass on the burger and just stick with the fries.

Ive always heard about the competition between 5 guys burger & In N Out, well this was my chance to see which toke the trophy. I was in the area with my mom visiting my sister since her ship had just came back from deployment & decided to grab some lunch. I ordered a cheese burger with extra onions, mushrooms & fries. The burger was OK, nothing special about it & the fries sucked due to the fact they were super soggy when i ordered them well done. Oh well, i dint really like it. Service was good but slow. I still prefer In N Out.

I heard a lot of hype regarding this burger joint(not on the base particularly, but at their other locations) being a damn good eat. I guess… it is a step up from Micky D’s but I don’t find anything special about this place except that it’s pricey. Their customer service though was quick and friendly. I’ll give them that extra star. Now let’s break it down even further. I ordered the little cheeseburger with jalapenos and I got my boyfriend the bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and ketchup, mayo, and mustard. We also ordered a side of fries to share. NOW. The grand total for our meal came out to be about $ 18 and some change. Dang man, way to burn a hole in my pocket –_-. Oh and I’m still trying to figure out the difference between a «little» burger and a regular one, because when we got the food I could not pinpoint anything noticeable. Taste-wise… It was just okay. For that many calories in a burger, there was no flavor or seasoning and everything was SUPER greasy! Five Guys has nothing on In-and-Out or even Jack in the Box for that matter(if we’re not considering the fresh patty deal). The fries are alright seeing that they’re fresh cut and they give you an abundance of it, but I don’t think I’ll drop change here. Why spend almost $ 20 here when you could grab yourself a double-double and some animal-style fries for less? I hate to brand-name drop but ay… I’m just being real.

This Five Guys is located in the food court of the dry side of the 32nd Street Naval base San Diego. It’s convenient if you work in that area and are either a contractor, military personnel, spouse, or retired. If not, you will have to find the next Five Guys in the area. They have all the same offerings that a regular Five Guys has. Five Guys overall is expensive. For 1 cheeseburger, I paid over $ 7, which is outrageous. The upside is you get a bunch of toppings to add. You could even get all of them if you please. I got a serving of fries and it was huge. The burger: the taste is honestly mediocre to me. Nothing special, just expensive. By the halfway point, my burger was soggy and falling apart. I had to eat each piece separately. As for the fries, I thought they were good. They have flavor similar to Cajun flavor, which gave it a little kick. Really big portion, as I mentioned, so make sure to share it because of it’s size and price.

Go for Five Guys if you want a higher quality burger than McDonalds but don’t want to sit in a restaurant for«gourmet burgers» yet you want to try something different than In-N-Out, however weird that may sound. A regular burger can feed one hungry person. Burgers are made fresh and toppings are unlimited. I like that upon request, they can cut the burger in half so that it’s easier to slice. They sure give you a HUGE amount of fries for just one«small» order of fries. They’re all right, but they’re too greasy to be eaten in one sitting. Okay, I get that more people are trying to be health-conscious, but really, posting calorie counts on burgers and fries? Really? Do people REALLY need to know how many calories they’re eating here? I’m all for eating healthy, but it can sure take away the joy of eating knowing I just consumed ¾th of my daily caloric intake in one sitting. Decent burger/fries combination, but when you compare a price of a burger and fries to a meal combination you can get at an In-N-Out, the In-N-Out beats Five Guys hands down AND it’s cheaper(a cheeseburger/fries with NO drink here costs more than an Double Double meal WITH a drink).

Short review. This place is slightly costly. You can pay like $ 9 for a burger, drink, and fries. These burgers are fooking amazing. I mean damn. Each bite is orgasmic. Epic win. Fries are average. I mean they don’t suck, but they aren’t as good as some fast food fries. I argue all the time that this place is better than Fatburger. I would say they are both in the same league. I prefer Five Guys.

Meh. I’ve heard quite a few positive things about this place so I decided to give it a shot. To be honest I wasn’t that impressed. Not as flavorful as some people made it out to be(then again, with the plethora of topping choices, maybe I just didn’t add the right stuff to mine). I ordered a Little Cheeseburger and Five Guys Style regular fries. Along with a drink it came out to $ 10’ish. I certainly liked their fries BUT when your name is «Five Guys BURGER and Fries», your burger better be poppin’ — and obviously to me it wasn’t. I’ll give this place another shot though — since their«little» cheeseburger wasn’t actually small I’ll get a regular cheeseburger next time. Until then, 2⁄5.

FTW or WTF? Either way, I wasn’t totally feelin it… sorry my East Coast peeps(I can see them unfriending me now, haha) WTF #1 So who else thinks Carl’s Jr effed up by naming their top-sammich«The Six Dollar Burger»? A $ 6 burger is thrift-shop these days! Just come here and you’ll see what I mean… WTF #2 Just wondering but are the cheap brown paper bags supposed to be cool(from a major chain)? WTF #3 Dude I can make this at home… FTW #1 Best fastfood customer service! Got this down to a science, it seems… cashier said she would love to answer any questions I have about anything on the menu(like it’s possible to be a burger retard). FTW #2 Online ordering! Get with the times people! So what do I think of 5 Guys? «Well, he’s got a good personality?» +1 «His heart is in the right place» +1 You feel me? For now, Five gets Two. **Forgot one… In-N-Out Animal Style FTW! ;-)

I didn’t mind Five Guys. It’s not In-N-Out, that’s for sure. I think the burger itself was tasty and I liked creating my burger with grilled onions, mushrooms, lettuce and tomato. I actually liked that it didn’t have a special sauce, but the lettuce wasn’t quite crispy like I like. Split a regular fry with my wife and it was WAY too much for us! They filled the container and filled half the bag! I do however like the fries better than In-N-Out. They are the thicker cut fry type and weren’t salty. Short to the point on this one. One major turnoff was that it was much more expensive than In-N-Out. You do get more burger, per Se, but it’s not about quantity for me, it’s about quality. If you’re in the NEX Food Court, it’s not a bad choice at all!
