I went to Navy Marine Corps Relief earlier this week. i had a serious financial crisis. Of course I had made an appointment the day before and showed up 15 minutes prior. But altogether I was denied for even a loan. But I have a Marine who has a 740 credit score, 8,000.00 credit card limit with a zero balance and a car that is paid off. He is financially stable and I am going through a bind. But he was given a 700.00 grant. I was denied. And told to apply for a command rebuttal. I have worked with Marines who have been awarded extra money from the Corps and still are not financially stable, but yet can get money from organizations like Operation Homefront and Navy Marine Corps Relief without a problem. But the ones who seriously need it or could use some extra help, are usually denied.

This volunteer-run organization helps active duty military financially. As a chaplain, I have seen plenty of young men and women who recieved a message from back home with news of the loss of a loved one. NMCRS helps with emergency leave. Previously enlisted, I had financial issues. Car broke down? They can help with that. Any ‘needs’ issues can be addressed and the best part about it is that it is a 0% interest loan that is usually paid back over 10 mos. What a great financial resource for the struggling men and women serving our country and so far away from home. They also offer financial counseling and will run through a thorough budget with you and your family. Below is a link for phone numbers and locations of the office nearest you.
