The only word that comes to mind when I think of my experience at Gordon Biersch is «meh». Just another corporate chain that uses cheap ingredients and attempts to be classy by charging high prices. Decent service but the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the mini bratwursts and a side of garlic fries and was pretty disappointed. The sausage was mushy and the pretzel bun it came with was soggy and fell apart. The garlic fries were just regular fries with a few chunky pieces of garlic sprinkled on top.

Great service and tasty food! While we did not have any beer, the food alone was worth returning for! Made in house veggie burger was excellent, large and filling, a good value and the salad I had on the size fresh and a nice compliment. The guys had burgers and fries and enjoyed them as well. Food came out quickly and was presented and prepared nicely. Nice space, large and bright with plenty of seating, not too full when we were there either. Extensive menu with tons of great options I will have to come back for!

11.11.15: You’re probably thinking what!!! Four Stars? Yup it was a definite four stars experience for me. Came here to watch the game and get some happy hour food and get our drink on. Chicken and Pear Slider: Not too bad, I think we got it because it sounded interesting, I wouldn’t order it again. Fries: good fries but why is the portions so small? Nola yellowfin tuna was super good the creole spice was a nice touch, but with only four small pieces I was wanting more. Pricey for $ 6.95 Beer Infused Mussels: OOOH right? I wouldn’t order it again. It was a bit salty and the taste wasn’t really there. My second favorite was the California Cobb Flatbread: It was pretty much a california salad on pizza. It was so good. I liked how well the balsamic vinaigrette went with the pizza. Nice touch. We really enjoyed their beers. Well I did. I was two beers in and was going for a third one but I was feeling so full. Marzen is the beer I favored. I also tried their hef and their bock. I have to say none of them were bad at all. I actually liked it. Happy hour is a great deal, you don’t have to wait for a table, instead just go to the bar. I really love the bar area since it has regular booths and tables and it’s a good size bar. Anyhow there were enough tvs around to keep me happy. Most of all our server greeted us when she should and we got a chance to order everything we wanted on happy hour before the time was over. I would definitely come back here for some beers and flatbread. So I’m a fan.

every time I pass by this brewery, I am tempted to stop in and last night was finally able to. even the outer décor is welcoming with the beautifully lit up entrance sign and outdoor seating. I enjoyed the high ceilings and comfy booths. unfortunately they were having some plumbing problems. the host warned me but the bathroom was extremely unclean which I don’t find acceptable even if there are plumbing problems going on. we were greeted by our server who was nice and seemed to have good menu knowledge. she suggested a few appetizers and we chose the charcuterie and Brie app which was very good! it came with salami, sopresata, figs, olives, spicy mustard and crispy baguette slices. I was very impressed. as an entrée I tried the seafood carbonara which was also very good; crispy pancetta, shrimp salmon and al dente fettuccine tossed in a creamy sauce and topped with a fried egg! I would absolutely get it again. my friend tried their German authentic dish chicken schnitzel which she was a fan off. meals were a bit pricey but seemed to be worth it.

First impression was positive but it all went downhill from there. I was worried when I saw how busy the parking lot was but then realized that they had free valet. Entering the restaurant I maintained the positive image. The restaurant is dark and classy looking. The inside is very large for both the dining area and the bar area. We weren’t planning on drinking much so we sat in the dining side. The service was crazy slow even though the restaurant was’t very busy. The service also was just kind of blah in addition to being slow. The food also was boring and not very flavorful. Both the burgers that my friend and I got were just not very appealing. I ordered the Marzen BBQ Burger and expected at least the BBQ sauce to be flavorful but sadly that was not the case. I might come back to just drink in the bar but wouldn’t plan on eating again.

Excellent food! I had chicken schnitzel and it was the best I’ve ever had! Hubby had the sausage sampler plate and he really liked it. Others had chicken bruschetta and sea food Cobb which were also both good. The beer menu only had 5 beers on tap… we had expected more.

My guy and I decided to go out and grab a bite. I told him I have been craving some garlic fries and he said he knew the spot. We come in Wednesday day and seated. Our server, Chris greets us and answers all TCs Questions. End of it all we got a couple beers and some Garlic Fries. The fries came out fresh and tasted better than I had remembered. Chris checked on us throughout and even cracked a couple jokes with us. Enhanced the overall dining experience. Thanks Chris, we will be back to see you again! Cool place, tons of beers and good service. Not a fan of Mission Valley but if you’re in the area, put this on your short list.

I was here last Sunday watching the game. Our server Lauren recommended that we get some sliders to go along with our beer. Needless to say, she made the right call. Awesome beer. Awesome food. Awesome service. We came for the beer, but we stayed cuz of Lauren.

I had a group gathering last night on the outside patio(great hostess personality as well), and Lauren was our server… she was great. The heaters, music, service, food and seating was very nice. I noticed the fire-pits on the other side of the patio and next time we will try that seating. Thanks for a special evening, we will surely all be back. Oh, the apps on the happy hour menu was amazing.

I had never heard of this establishment, but apparently there are Gordon Biersch’s all over the country. I came here for a work event and had a nice time. Upon entering, I noticed an open, moderately busy place. Our party reserved a private room that had four tables, which were a little too close to each other considering our size. Otherwise, the room was nicely decorated and well-kept. The service was polite, however 1.5 hours after our reservation time, we still didn’t have our entrees. Luckily, the appetizers were really tasty. I especially enjoyed the bruschetta which had an extra kick in the tomatoes. The spicy chicken risotto fritters were also quite popular, but they were not spicy at all! I still liked those little fried chicken cheese balls because they had a lot of flavor. For dinner, I had the pan-seared salmon with asparagus and a Caesar salad. The Caesar salad was nothing special, but the salmon was well cooked. This dish was quite lemony and filling. I could not even finish the whole thing. One thing my colleagues and I noticed was that the menu did not quite reflect our entrees. Fortunately, our entrees were more complex and interesting than the menu led us to believe. Leftovers made for a great lunch the next day, too! Overall, I had a nice time and would return.

Great option in Mission Valley. Tried the roasted vegetable salad, it was delicious and the beers were great and cold.

Enjoyed the veggie burger however the the side order of veggies I ordered did not meet my expectation. I was with a group of six and we stayed beyond closing. Management was very accommodating and our service was exceptional. Will definitely return soon.

Came here for apps and drinks with friends who wanted to watch a bball game. They have a number of screens so it’s got a more upscale sports bar that anyone can really enjoy. Decent beer, appetizers were tasty, but pricey if you miss their happy hr which goes until 6:30. The mussels had good flavor but they were dry and overcomes. Tuna was super yummy but they’re only 5 little bite sized morsels. I’d consider coming m back during happy hr if I was near hazard center, but wouldn’t drive just for anything… Nothing unique or extraordinary. Spacious inside. Good place for groups.

Just your typical Gordon Biersch chain. Lots of seatings, TVs, and of course German Beer. We got a few small appetizers to share and they were all on the smaller size. FOODS Mussels — a bit overcooked and a little too salty for my liking. The sauce had good flavors tho. The pretzel that came with it was mostly burnt too. Nola Yellowfin Tuna — a nice sear to it with a light crust. The sauce was flavorful sauce and went well with it. You only get 4 pieces, so really not worth the value. Grilled Vegetable Salad — the grilled veggies were really delicious and fresh. Dressing was light. Again, very small. I also got one of the sour beers and it wasn’t that sour nor tart. Almost like a saison. Also doesn’t come the liter. SERVICE waitress came by a few times and got our orders out quickly. She did forget to giving us plates to eat with, but we got then fairly quickly. Overall, I’d come back if I were in the area and wanted to watch a game or two. I’d probably skip out on the food and just get garlic fries to hold me down(can’t really go wrong with those here). It’s not craft beer here, but it’s very drinkable.

This place it’s great for any occasion. You can come by yourself sit by the bar and enjoy the huge selection of delicious drinks. Their happy hour is from 4PM-6:30PM Mon-Fri. The happy hour menu has individual plates $ 2.99, shareable appetizers for $ 5.25 and pizzas and flatbreads from $ 6.45.Really good food! We ordered their Marguerita Flatbread, and the Veggie Burger Sliders. This was a perfect portion two to share. For drinks i had two of the Maestro Doble Silver Tequila Cocktail and the hoppy IPA beer. We enjoyed the drinks in the patio. We came in when it was hot and sunny. We left when it got cold. It was an amazing atmosphere. They had plenty of seating and umbrellas to protect you from the sun. Great place to come have drinks and great food.

The beer is not very good. The prices aren’t bad at all… I think $ 6.00 for a 21oz?! The price isn’t bad at all but the actual taste of the beer isn’t great. I’d give the beers 3 stars(average). The food… I can’t comment on it. I ordered a veggie burger. I told the bartender ahead of time I was vegan and didn’t want cheese on my fries or my burger. I got cheese on both. I didn’t complain or anything, I chose not to eat it. However, my buddy and I both ordered burgers and fries. When our plates arrived HE immediately said«whoa, they didn’t wanna spread the fries evenly.» Haha, take a look at the pictures I posted. I got about a quarter of the fries he received. Not to mention it was cold when it arrived. The service wasn’t very good either. We originally sat at the bar and our service was great! The bartender gave us a few beers to try and was super nice. After that our party grew and we were switched to a table with a new server. She wasn’t so good. or nice. The service went downhill from there. She wasn’t very nice or talkative or attentive. I Unilocal a lot and I don’t like to give poor reviews but my experience wasn’t very good. They couldn’t get my order right, couldn’t get my bill right and the service was pretty poor. This is the second time I’ve been here. I wasn’t pleased the first time but I wanted to give it another shot… same result. I’d recommend going somewhere else.

I’ve always heard good things about Gordon Biersch… particularly the beer. I’m not a beer fan, so I will not be commenting on any brews. This has become a regular lunch spot when I’m craving the delicious chicken sandwich… The CBLT, add the avocado and the cheese!(This is still a menu item, but it has since been modified and I can’t order it the same way anymore. It’s so sad! Bring it back!!!) Since I’ve become a regular here now, things have changed. Not really for the better. I started my draft with 4 stars, but it has since dropped to 3 stars. Here are the reasons why… highlights and floppers. –5*~ Complimentary valet. In this parking lot, this is great! Especially during the week for lunch. A good way to shave some time off your already short lunch hour to grab a bite. They run to your car rain or shine! :) –4*~ The atmosphere and location. Easy to get to, use the valet. Inside is a bit dark, but has that cozy feeling with booths. Even in the bar, there’s a long booth, I love booths! They have a nice outside patio seating with tvs for sports, great! It’s a large space with the center open to the sky. I don’t recommend sitting outside while it’s raining or(sprinkling… San Diego’s rain). You can’t sit in the middle, and even though they bring down the plastic walls on the perimeter seating, you still get wet with a cold draft. Great on nice sunny days. :) –3.5*~ The service. Pretty decent most of the time. You kind of get forgotten when your out on the patio. Refills, extras, etc. Make sure you get everything when you order, so you don’t have to wait for anything else. –3*~ The food. And that’s the reason why I gave 3 stars cause it really is all about the food! They no longer make the CBLT the way I like it. They changed the bread which really makes a huge difference, it’s just not the same. The garlic fries and sweet potato fries are my favorite side. They’re not always the best, but for the most part good and if you forget to bring my ranch with those… grrr. On our last visit we ordered the GB Beer mushroom chicken which sounded amazing, but that was sub par. The chicken was not hot, and the breading was off. How can you mess up a beer batter? The asparagus was boiled(ick and yuck) not grilled like it says. The mushroom sauce has onions(which the bf hates, but it was on the side thankfully). Overall not good. I had the tomato bisque, can’t mess that up, it was good. I also got 1 French dip slider. I like that you have the option to order a plate of three or a single one. I was not super hungry… So I got one, but that tiny tin of au jus… really? How am I supposed to dip in that?!? Note to self… try the Sunday brunch buffet. Just missed it one Sunday and was tempted by the large bowl of shrimp they left out.

Give the Garlic Fries! I love the garlic fries here. I have been here several times and is it bad that the only thin that I can recall is their garlic fries and their Mimosa’s? Ok, actually there was more but this was what stood out the most. I have had their burgers too. And remember watching some baseball and basketball games while I munched on my fries. Their sweet potato fries coated in brown sugar aren’t a bad choice either. But I sill have a love affair with their garlic fries. I am looking forward to trying their new brunch that is available on Sundays. I had an opportunity to sample some of their brunch food recently at Mission Valley Mall. The jalapeño corn bread was good, so was their breakfast lasagna The parking is always a bit of a challenge whenever I have been here. But usually I find parking or just valet

3.5STARS I’ve been here twice, and the first time wasn’t memorable. But here I am writing this review, because I randomly stopped by here again for dinner the other day. The venue itself is very large and quite fancy. They have tons of tables for all party sizes. Great place for dinner parties. Their kitchen is out in the open so if you get a table by the kitchen, you can see them cook. For being a «brewery» type restaurant, I don’t think they have that many beer selections. Food: + Prosciutto & Gorgonzola Chips $ 5.25 (Housemade potato chips smothered in gorgonzola garlic cream sauce with prosciutto, chardonnay-marinated figs, sauteed crimini mushrooms, and green onions) The chips themselves seemed over baked and too salty. It was crunchy but very hard. I was excited about the gorgonzola garlic cream sauce, but it didn’t taste quite like gorgonzola or garlic. More of like a funky ranch. They were lacking on the prosciutto and figs as well. Although the figs were a nice sweet touch. I liked the mushrooms as well. + Beer Braised Cab Sirloin Tips $ 18.50 (Angus top sirloin tips simmered in a mushroom marzen demi-glacé with bacon jam, caramelized onions, mushrooms, tomoatoes, garnished with green onions and thyme, served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes) This was a delicious dish. The sirloin was chopped up into tiny pieces and mixed with all the veggies and sauce. It reminded me a lot of beef pot pie without the pie crust and with steak. The portion size seemed small at first, but if you eat every bite with the mashed potatoes, it definitely gets you full. Overall this dish was very savory. Cioppino $ 17.95 (Seafood stew with shrump, blue mussels, swordfish, tuna and chopped clams, sauteed with carrots, onions, fennel, potatoes, sweet peppers, and red chili flakes. Finished with a tomato, red wine and clam broth and served with grilled crostinis) This was another good dish. Reminded me of a seafood gumbo like soup. Quite hearty with all the veggies and bread. Generally, they have some pretty good dishes, and some not so good. The prices are quite high, but thats what you would expect for a nice cuisine restaurant.

I went to Gordon Biersch today for a quick lunch with my boss. We walked in and it wasn’t too busy, the hostess asked us where we wanted to sit and my boss wanted to sit on the patio, so she gave us menus and told us to sit wherever we wanted. I thought that was interesting because usually they hostess greets us and seats us and gives us the menu, but it wasn’t a big deal since it wasn’t busy. My boss already knew she wanted wings and pizza, so we ordered the Marzen-glazed chicken wings and the Italian cheese pizza. The wings were very tasty! I wish they were a little spicier, but the flavor was very good. The pizza was also delicious as well, nice crust and sauce. Overall, food was good and the service was okay. Our server was very friendly, however I have a pet peeve with water not being filled. It was a large glass, and I don’t usually drink my water too quickly, but it bothers me to have to wait to have it filled. Our server had took care of the whole patio and there were a lot of workers that could have pitched in, oh well. I will be back for HH!
