HS Catering & Events

We decided to go with HS Catering for our wedding, based on recommendations from friends who have utilized them for catering and also after we had gone in for a tasting. The food was really on point and they are able to work with any palette or preference your heart desires!
One star taken away for the communication unfortunately. Like another Unilocaler on this page, we sadly had a similar experience in regards to the communication aspect. We realized that unfortunately, the «then» coordinator seemed to be the problem (Christine)…but last I heard, she is no longer at HS Catering. She seemed to not communicate important information to Tress. However, I decided to just contact Tress myself, and things went waaaay smoother after that and he was very accommodating to our needs.
I can honestly recommend HS Catering, especially now that the previous coordinator is no longer there. The food received rave reviews from our guests and they even asked for some to go!

I confirmed a menu MONTHS before my event with Christine at HS Catering. That process was hard enough, as communication was extremely poor from the beginning with Tres. But regardless, we were finally able to finalize a menu.
Communication after finalizing the menu was non-​existent, so several weeks before my event I reached back out via phone, email, and to their business line. I wanted to make sure I paid for the meal and finalized all the details. Nobody responded. To this point (one month after my event) I still have not heard anything from them. They left me high and dry, and I had to scramble last minute to find another caterer. I left them one final message stating that if I didn’t hear back from them I’d have no choice but to leave a bad review for them. Still no response, so here we are…
They very well may have good food, but I’ll never know. I’ll never do any business with HS catering in the future; and I warn anyone else out there to BEWARE that you aren’t scrambling at the 11^th hour to find a caterer when HS leaves you high and dry.

Thank you Christine & Tress for making my son’s 1^st birthday a success! Our guests were raving about the food and went back for 2nds, 3rds, 4ths. LOL! I was incredibly impressed by the generous portions and everything was so yummy. Christine helped me put together the menu and was incredibly patient with me as I could not decide what to order. We will be back to order more for our future events!

Tress and his staff catered my wedding at Liberty Station in Point Loma, CA. He had us in to his restaurant to sample some dishes ahead of time, and worked with me and my fiancé to plan a menu that included dishes inspired from her native country (Azerbaijan). Everyone who attended our wedding raved about the food – both the tastes and presentation. Working with Tress was great… he is super personable and genuinely loves what he does. I can’t say enough about how pleased we were with his services. I recommend him and HS Catering for any event that you may be considering them.

Tress, Christine & crew always take the best care of us. From Asian to Italian to pretty much anything I ask for, they come through each time. And I’ve referred other friends and they receive the same great food & service.

We have used Happi Sushi for many of our agency events, not only is the food delicious, Tress and his team are amazing! I strongly recommend and will forever continue to have him serve our food for our future events!!! =)
