The best breakfast by the beach ever ! Cheap prices but large portions! The breakfast burrito 3 is one of my favorites ! I will always come back here !

We went to the Kono’s coffee stand and ordered iced almond coffee and it was delicious! The sweetness was tasty. Quick service.

No frills. No fuss. No worries brah. Deess joynt’s been fueling Pacific Beach-goers since the ‘90s. Kono’s humble beginnings were as this coffee stand, but they expanded to become the café that it is today. Breakfast available until early afternoon. sweet for us lasy-bones often missing brunch hour. Not bad for a greasy spoon on a corner of the boardwalk at the pier. Expect simple short-order cooking: eggs, pancakes, french toast, burgers, hot dogs etc. Decent price and portions. Coffee and bacon are quite good, but the eggs. why’d they taste so artificial? Heads up, those of you averse to green bell peppers. The veg is un-avoidable– minced and thoroughly mixed in with the house potato. Don’t order the potato if you cannot hack green peppers. Request plain hash browns instead. Go inside for food, not really the disposable, bare-bones picnic amenities. Styro-foam ruled here; plates, utensils, everything. Plastic resin furniture was awkward and cramped as chairs butt up against each other. Bathroom is practically next to the kitchen. Un-marked door looks like a closet, but inside is a deceptively spacious lavatory. It’s all about the beach and ocean air outside. So go shred the gnar, stroll the board-walk, then come back to get your grindz on at Kono’s.

Wow! What a great spot to grab breakfast and watch the surfers. The food was amazing and the portions huge. If I lived in San Diego, I would eat breakfast here daily! Thanks Konos!

Big disappointment. There is no Hawaiin coffee that can be purchased in bags. As a matter of fact you cannot buy any cofffee there unless you want a cup only. They will however order you some through their website. The shop is very small and is dwarfed by the tatto shop next door. The employee that I spoke with was a hip nice guy and I felt as though he had empathy for me.

Obscure place on the beach with a ‘local’ feel serving hot coffee on cool mornings. Nice people, good coffee, breathtaking views. I feel like I’m in a coffee commercial. I got more than a almond latte with whip(suggested by another fellow Unilocaler). I had an experience. ‘Nuff said.

Definitely deserves 5 stars from the 3 times ive came here. They do have a long line to order but thats what you can expect from a really good restaurant. The pricing is on the food is not much at all and its a big serving. I eat a lot of food and when i say its a lot of food for the money that you’re paying, its more than enough. They do have a small section to seat inside but they have two big sections, one outside next to the buildimg and one across overlooking the beach. The restaurant is in a perfect location bwcause of the joggers, biciclists and tourists. It is deffinitely not crowded outside, just perfect ambiance. When we finally sat down, it took them not even five minites for the food to arrive to our table. We sat across the building overlooking the beach and they brought our food. We both got the big breakfast #2 which consists of an all american breakfast, potatoes with grilled veggies and french toast. Overall the food was amazing and more than enough. I had enough to take home. It is a great hole in the wall if youve never been to this part of town. Dont expect a big restaurant but you can expect great food, amazing prices and great customer service

This is one of the best ‘local’ breakfast spots in San Diego. They have embodied the philosophy of keeping things simple. * Friendly Staff * Fast service * Inexpensive food * Delicious food * Lots of food for the money A testament to how good it is, whenever I go(which is frequent) there is ALWAYS a line. I haven’t even mentioned the scenery. It’s steps from the beach. You can see surfers and hear the crashing waves. The people watching is fun, just be careful to not get run over by a bicyclist or jogger. I have to say, if you’re looking for an inexpensive and terrific breakfast experience, KONOS is a place you should visit. Just bring your wallet, it’s cash only. Keep it simple.

Food is generous in portion. Prices are great. Potatoes are topped with cheese. We always come for the french toast breakfast. Very delicious! Lines are usually out the door so we bring scooters for the kids to ride up and down while we wait the line… nice pier that is a hotel but public and you may walk on it as well.

Great breakfast place. There is usually a line but it goes by quick so don’t avoid this place just because of a line. The plates are big so you don’t need to order too much. The scramble eggs are definitely worth trying and the potatoes are loaded with cheese. Very cool environment and cheap price. A must go if your staying near mission boulevard.

We ate here twice during our stay, a family of 5 easily split 3 plates for $ 25! Portions were huge! The egg scramble is great, potatoes maybe a bit dry but covered in cheese wasn’t too noticeable. I’d highly recommend the egg scramble! The coffee from inside the restaurant wasn’t my fave, next time I’d try an espresso from the espresso bar on their patio. I say skip the coffee inside. The guy taking orders was friendly. There’s def a line, grab a menu by the cashier so you know what you want when time to place it. Some people get stuck there which makes it slower.

What a great place! This ordinary looking place right on the beach front walk was brilliant. The café was busy and there was a small line to order but it moved quickly. There is inside seating and plenty of outdoor seating too behind the café. It is an amazing view of the ocean from outside which made the breakfast even better. We had the breakfast with bacon, eggs and pancakes which is delivered to your table albeit on paper plates with plastic cutlery. The food was very tasty and a great serve which next time we would share one serve. There is espresso coffee available from their coffee cart out on the rear deck. The coffee was decent and completed the meal for me. I would highly recommend this café and will come again. We found parking easy and enjoyed a walk out on the pier after our breakfast — awesome all round!

Breakfast with a view. It has been years since I have been out this way but this is always a traditional stop for me. Right on the beach. It goes like this, order your food and they will bring it to your table. Sit outside, behind the shop across the walkway and you will have an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean while you fill up on plenty of food to keep you going for the rest of the day. We started our first full day coming here. Surprisingly, it was easy to find parking(this may be challenging during the weekends). Also the lines were relatively short. I went with the Big Breakfast #2, two eggs, bacon, French toast, Kono’s potatoes and wheat toast. My better half tried to go smaller by ordering the burrito #3, eggs, cheese, potatoes and bacon. When I say the portions are huge, you have been warned. The pictures don’t even do it justice. Popular place for locals and the prices are dirt cheap.

Wow, I can’t believe the hype this place has. I ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon and was expecting a lot. The burrito was massive but what good is that when it’s inedible? Like a previous reviewer I took one bite to find undercooked runny eggs. Disgusting. I had the order to go and was already down the road when I discovered what a disaster this thing was. The absolute worst breakfast burrito I’ve ever had.

Strictly for those who value quantity over quality. My husband and I had seen the long lines out the door at this place when we walked past a few times, so one morning stopped in as they were opening to avoid having to stand in line. At the counter we ordered a couple of egg burrito #2s and a side of potatoes to split; a server brings your food out to you at your table. We were flabbergasted at the size of the burritos; they’re easily enough for two people. There must have been the scrambled ‘egg’ equivalent of 6 eggs inside; I managed a third of mine and my husband only half of his. The eggs overwhelmed the green chilis and cheese to the point I could barely taste anything but egg; the burrito would have been MUCH better with half the amount of eggs and twice the amount of chilis. The tortilla itself was good. The side of potatoes was also easily enough for two as a side dish and were very good; if I were going to eat here again I’d just order a side of them and skip the burrito altogether. Service was friendly and helpful. Bottom line: if you need to feed a herd of teenage boys on a budget, this is the place for you; otherwise, ignore the hype and the inexplicable 4-stars Unilocal rating. I can only conclude that anyone who would stand in line for this kind of breakfast is the kind of person who thinks huge portions = food excellence.

Oh my goodness. It’s so good. It’s SO good. This is just basic simple food done really well. Cheese on cheese on cheese — I got the egg scramble. The«small plate» is gigantic, don’t be fooled. Eat here when you’re hungover and/or not planning on functioning for several hours. I just waited in line for a half hour and after ordering my food was ready in 5 minutes. They’re busy but quick. Coffee was terrible. Very friendly people

Stopped by on a morning beach walk. Located right on the bike path. I had the Baja Mocha, it was really good. Looked to be a husband/wife owned business, not sure. I love supporting local businesses like this, I can get SBUX anywhere. Definately recommend.

This a hot spot located on the boardwalk right outside and off to the side of Kono’s famous eatery in Pacific beach. Although I have not eaten there, I have had coffee several times from this little coffee shack. Let me see, I have had an Americano, a Café au Lait, and a regular drip coffee. All of them were quite good, especially the robust and rich Americano, and each hit the spot as expected. Lines can be tricky, sometimes there’s no line and then sometimes you need to wait a bit, but on the good side, the employees are always friendly and quick. The also offer teas, in the form of bagged teas, and provided an outside patio seating only, unless you go inside the eatery next door to buy some grub.

I’m not a coffee drinker so I tried a Mexican Hot Chocolate. The lady working there said it was her favorite! It was really good but tasted too milky for me. I’ll probably try it again and ask for more chocolate in it. Fast, clean, and seemed to be a trendy spot right off the board walk.

If you aren’t eating and don’t want to wait in the long restaurant line, stop by this little stand for a quick drink before walking the PB Boardwalk. They have awesome coffee and awesome staff. I love stopping here to start my weekend mornings in PB. Drink selection is actually pretty good considering it’s just a little cart/stand on the boardwalk. There’s different blends of coffee to choose from, or even order a chai tea latte and sprinkle some cinnamon on it. I recommend the chocolate cream coffee which is a blend of chocolate milk and your choice of coffee roast. Prices are reasonable and they accept credit cards.

Recently stayed in the area on vacation. Coffee good, watch your return change Don’t know how many times this happened to me, because I didn’t count my return change until one day I stopped to purchase something else and notice the guy working there had on given me four dollars back from a twenty, should of been fourteen. Went back the next day ordered the same as the day before a woman waited on me this time however the guy from the day before was there. I handed her my 20 and told her I was giving her a twenty and explained what had happened. I did not expect them to return what I was shorted the previous day but they did not even apologize. You know, my fault for not counting my return change but nevertheless watch them. Who knows, they may be taking advantage of the tourists happy nature. Needless to say I never went back.
