Sits directly on the beach. Prices are good. I tried the mocha as it’s there best coffee they serve from others. The coffee you can tell is a different bean than other places serve and it is actually good. I’m not a big mocha guy either. The place itself though is dirty not very well kept up. It could use some love in there.

One of my most favorite places of mine in town. Always a nice spot to come in the afternoon to sit down and enjoy the nice atmosphere and vibe.

Small spot near the beach. Cool atmosphere, friendly staff, enjoyable music, and quality drinks. Plus, they had a vegan goodies available.

Man in charge gave us 3 refills because he would rather give us free coffee than give visa a dollar. 10/10, would come again. Would recommend the darker roast of the house coffee.

Loved the acai bowls here more than any other place. Tried the peanut butter cup mocha, which was delicious as well. Place is small and there are a couple café tables if you want to sit outside.

Not a bad place, coffee is ok and staff very nice. Only reason didn’t get 5 stars is because they don’t have a bathroom. Ok you are a coffee shop and you don’t have a bathroom?! What makes you have to pee more than anything? Coffee!!! It just doesn’t make sense. I can understand not wanting randoms to come in just to use the bathroom, but if you are a paying customer why can’t we use the bathroom? Ugh, so annoying.

Wasnt even in the mood for coffee but it smelled so good from the outside that we had to go in. I got the mayan mocha and it was incredible! It was not sickly sweet it was just right. I love being able to support a local business too! I suggest everyone should try it!

The coffee here is so good! I ordered a vanilla latte with almond milk & my boyfriend got a coconut latte. We saw that it was the number one coffee spot when we visited Pacific Beach and it definitely hit our coffee craving! Staff is friendly and really helpful as well.

This place is really fun and good. They have a lot of flavors and coffee styles to choose from. The owner is really nice and knowledgeable about the coffee. I got the Turtle Sundae hot drink which has chocolate, caramel and butter pecan syrup. He did a design on top too. They have a outside patio to sit on too. Super fun.

Holy freaking smokes! Best mocha hands down! Peanut butter! Are you kidding me? Coconut? Amazinggggg — and these things pack a punch — must be some good espresso in there and love the chocolate whipped cream. Will be back for sure!

Rocked in here on a windy Monday, mid morning(10:30ish). There were three people inside, relaxing. The space is cramped, and seating is very very limited inside. Outside, a couple café tables are available. Location wise, this place is five star. With a decent arm, you could probably throw a mocha and hit a surfer. The menu are very colorful, and you definitely get the sun meets sand vibe. The doorway declares, ‘Home of America’s Best Mocha’… so I decided to try that, and the acai bowl… which is some acai froyo, granola, banana, and blueberries. I arrive, greet the pretty girl working. She is less than enthused that I’m there. I try to make a little smalltalk, as I am a giant windbag of the chitter-chatter variety. She isn’t having it. I ask if they have cayenne, as this dictates my mocha order. She checks. Nope. I place my order and, disheartened that my expectations(based on prior reviews of this space) of happy staff aren’t met, go wait at outdoor seating. My stuff arrives. Acai bowl is good. fruit is fresh, granola is not harsh and I felt okay dropping $ 7.95 on it. The coffee is pedestrian at best. Very sweet, and hard to detect any flavors. though I ordered an Aztec Mocha. So… all in all. were it not for the location. this would be a two star location. Maybe I caught staff on a bad day or something. I will return and reexamine this spot in a few days… hopefully change my tune. I very much want a non-garbage café in this area.

I was staying around the corner and with four nights this was quickly a daily must-do for me! I stopped in for great coffee and amazing mochas for my husband who isn’t an early riser to entice him out of bed! A cozy coffee spot with friendly folks.

Right on the beach near the Pacific Beach Pier, Pacific Bean is a rare find in San Diego. Not only is it a fantastic local coffee shop with a great group of regulars, staff, and is located right near the beach. But this place makes a damn good café! The truth is, you have to be in Italy to get an espresso that is better than what Pacific Bean whips up. This place has cool art, a super atmosphere, tasty food selections, and is my #1 coffee spot in San Diego. If you are in PB and need a quick pick up after a beach run or a an afternoon of slacking up the sun, stop in!

Good mochas, great Americanos and delicious smoothies. The acai smoothie is my favorite thing I’ve tried on the menu. Pacific Bean is just off the bike path a couple shops down from Kono’s. Getting a drink here and enjoying it while walking along the beach is pretty close to heavenly.

Stopped in this morning after taking the beast for a stroll down the beach and had a great experience! Prices are fair and the selection is pretty good. I had the acai bowl and it was delish! Check this place out and support local business!

Nothing completes a gorgeous morning beach walk like a good cup of joe. PBC is tucked away near the pier. Convenient for those walking/biking, not so much for driving as parking can get intense in peak tourists seasons. My Americano was pretty great. Definitely up there in my top 10. I could have used the extra shot when it was offered. But that one is on me. A couple bistro tables and chairs fill the space. But don’t expect to find a seat when it’s busy. But why would you when there’s an entire sandy beach just a few yards away?

They claim to have the best mochas in the country. I think they are right. Every flavor you can imagine, and some you can’t. My son got the milky way hot chocolate.(Note: all of the mochas can be converted into hot chocolates simply by eliminating the coffee.) It was luscious. I got the Mexican. God have mercy, it was orgasmic. And, the folks there are clever. They have a nice little pot of Legos for the little ones to play with while the parents experience the sheer splendor of their drink. Oh, it was good.

I was walking with my boyfriend along Pacific Beach, and we decided to stop for some coffee. Thanks to Unilocal,he found this cute coffeeshop called Pacific Bean. There is a smorgasboard of mocha flavors posted on the wall, and everything is made fresh right in front of you. This seems to be a little popular than other coffeeshops around, but to me that just means faster service. I settled for a small Vietnamese Iced Coffee. The barista was super chill and friendly. There are a few places to sit inside, but why sit inside when it’s so beautiful in Pacific Beach? Pacific Bean definitely matches the whole PB atmosphere so if you’re looking for a delightful caffeine experience, stop by this place.

Wow. I’ve had many people tell me about this coffee shop and decided to try it out while I had a friend visiting from out of town. It is in a great location right on the boardwalk and has many outside tables good for studying and people watching. They are known for their mochas and have a wall full of different flavors. The Mexican chocolate flavors are their specialties. We tried two different flavors: Mayan mocha and mystery flavor. The Mayan mocha has Mexican chocolate and cinnamon and it was amazing. The mystery flavor had chocolate cream and Nutella and it was a lighter flavor. They were both very different but equally as good. This is definitely a hidden gem and I’ll be back for sure!

My parents were visiting from out of town recently and stayed in the condos across the street from Pacific Bean Coffee Co. On a Sunday afternoon, after football and sightseeing, we decided we needed a caffeine pick me up and came into Pacific Bean. First things first, you may want to call before you come in because their hours on Unilocal are not correct. They close at 4pm on Sunday, not 6pm, but I’m not sure about the hours on other days. The owner said he’s tried to get it changed multiple times, but hasn’t had a lot of luck. So, yeah, we were there just after 4pm on Sunday, but our orders were taken and prepared happily anyway. The owner, Peter, had a great personality and was joking around with us as he made our drinks. He even bought one of them for us when he found out it was my birthday!(I protested, but he said, «I’m the owner. I do what I want.» Lol.) The drinks weren’t exactly what I wanted and my dad’s drip coffee needed some reheating, but it *was* the end of the day and they *were* officially closed, so I’m cutting them some slack. Besides, I could have walked away in a bad mood because of those things, but I had such a great time chatting with Peter that instead I walked away saying«I can’t wait to tell Unilocal to check this place out!» Thanks, Pacific Bean!
