They usually have great breakfast burritos. But I bought 2 chorizo, potato and egg burritos. The first was dry and lacking in chorizo. Couldn’t even finish it. Had the other for breakfast the next day. Same. And they used old French fries instead of the usual potatoes. What a disgrace

One of only two five star reviews I’ve ever given out. First of all, there should only be one dollar sign next to their name because I have never spent more than $ 10 here and I am a regular. Jim and Marco, mostly Marco(because he cooks), are my favorite people between 9:15 and 9:45 every morning(that’s my stop on their route). I have had many items on their breakfast menu and they’re all good; a few of my favorites though, include the steak and egg breakfast burrito and the breakfast quesadilla, but the item that keeps me coming back, the item that I literally crave when I’m out of town and the first thing I get when I’m back and also what inspired me to write this review is the machaca burrito. Machaca is a northern-Mexican spiced pulled/shredded pork or beef that can be used in various dishes. Marco’s is expertly seasoned shredded beef that is cooked with eggs and bell peppers and generously loaded into a large burrito tortilla. It is the best machaca I’ve ever had and will ever have as I no longer order it from anywhere else. No one has come close, especially when you factor in the price, $ 4.75. TRYIT!

What you may be asking am I doing giving a Lunch Truck four stars? Well a Rose blooms where its planted and sometimes that might even be on a Moody’s Lunch truck. Now I can’t really address any of other Mooody’s lunch trucks but regarding Route 96 here at North Isand I can unequivically say that there Mexican food is excellent, and that should be excellent with a exclamation point. First a little bit about the people that work on the truck Jim the driver and Marco the cook. They prefer to go only by their first names, its the Moody food truck way. First the cook Marco he has been cooking most of his life, even as a small child deep in central Mexico he remembers seeing his Mother cooking and be taught how to cook authentic, nutritious Mexican food. Fast forward fourty years and by happenstance finding himself on a Moody’s Food truck he continues to hone is craft for authentic, tastey, Mexican tacos, burritos, casa dias. And brings it to perfection with every thing he makes while on the truck. A couple of points, Marco goes for taste, flavor, freshness over quantity. So if you think you’re going to be stuffed to the gills after eating one of his delicious fares then go somewhere else because Marco is not your man. Jim is also a critical part of the team not only for his expert driving but his ability to take orders, and keep everything going. Jim also serves as a Marco’s quality assurance inspector because he oftens enjoys/samples the food. I would put Route 96’s Mexican street food up against anyones. You know Marco expertly makes his own hot sauce every day by hand, because thats the way his mother taught him. Sure Microsoft might have catered Marriot food, and Google’s free personal chefs with an estimated food budget of $ 72 million. But I would put Route 96 in the Mexican street category up against any of them. Yes Marco is that good. And yes as an Engineer serving the War Fighter I find this to be a great enough perk for me. Again thank you both Marco and Jim for making it happen here at North Island
