We love this place and come here as often as possible for business meetings and fun with family and friends. The views are spectacular and always makes me feel like I’m on vacay… Food portions are small but always delicious.

I almost don’t want to make a review of this place because it’s such a hidden gem. If you’re walking on the bay Boardwalk then this is a must stop. Happy hour 5 – 6 on weekdays with $ 6 wells.

Adrien waited on us for happy hour today. She was terrific came to us immediately as we started to sit down. Never in the past years did this happen. She offered suggestions on the HH menu in which we took her advice. Everything was delicious and maybe the best pizza around SD we have had. Yum We stopped coming here because the servers were so slow and with attitude and the food was just ok. So glad we returned It’s an entire different deal now. Every wait person checked in on us and all smiling and friendly. Can’t wait to try the restaurant. You must try this place. Excellent and beautiful setting and now the service and food to go along with.

My wife and I are locals who frequently visit Moray’s as we ride our beach cruisers on weekends bayside and along the boardwalk(beachside) several times per month. The last three visits here were pathetic service-wise. For the prices they are charging, one should have a normal level of service. I don’t mind paying a premium for a choice location and great quality food. Moray’s is providing neither at this point. Our most recent visit on February 14 was pathetic. It took 20 minutes to get two glasses of water and take our initial drink order. Another 15 minutes to get the drinks and be able to place our food order. This slow response continued with a simple lunch taking several hours. Our impression is that Moray’s is satisfied taking advantage of tourists providing poor service, high prices, and mediocre food. Very disappointing as we used to love Moray’s for food and drinks. JRDN’s is on our bicycle route and will get our future business unless Moray’s makes some major changes by recognizing that two+hours for a pair of burgers and drinks is idiotic especially when they are mediocre at best.

Bloody Mary was excellent. The crab Louis was yummy with lots of Dungeness crab and the perfect amount of dressing already tossed into salad. Very tasty merlot and fish tacos. Sitting outside along the bay — priceless :-)

I would have rated this 5 stars before the remodel but now it gets only 2. It gets 2 because the customer service is still great, but the menu is much worse than before the remodel. The prices are way too high for what you get, and the happy hour is not as good. They not only raised the hh prices, but they got rid of some of the best app items. Also, during the remodel they took down the 3TV’s they had outside and never put them back up. Very dissapointed in whoever made the menu/hh changes, and decision to not put the outside TV’s back up.

I came here with my mom today after a wedding at the Catamaran, big smiles on our faces and ready to chill with a margarita and relax on some yummy food. But the prices and general idea the menu portrays is not at all matched by the service quality, and CERTAINLY not by the food. We ordered a few things to share, one of which was the crab louie salad($ 20). It came out and was just a sad layer of wilty iceberg lettuce with a mayo-y dressing, topped with very off-tasting shredded crab. A laughably sad salad for a pretentiously high price. And the service left much to be desired as well. When you see your server just leisurely walking around and chatting with coworkers while you’re waiting to place a food order, or have already asked for a refill, it gets pretty annoying. What could have been a communal, fun, patio/beach spot and cool interaction with a server felt like pulling teeth to get acknowledgment from someone who clearly couldn’t give 2 shits about serving you your overpriced meal. There’s some major dissonance with this place. You have to either be a chill spot that employs untrained 19 year old servers and has fried cheap food, or train the staff better and step up the food game to follow through with those high prices. It was all just… lame.

To Mark W. I love the catamaran and I have been a «staycation» customer, bar and restaurant patron and have spent quite a bit of time and money at your property. But Dick S is right as is Kram M. You need to know that I was considering coming down there today for happy hour, but after reading those reviews it will not be the case. I understand you are running a business, but when you decide to forsake what made you a favorite for locals and begin gouging your loyal customers, everyone loses. Happy hour is a couple hours during the day, and if you are doing it right you make money, not lose it. Responding to Unilocal reviews shows that you care, but your overall rating shows you have a lot of work to do. I would start by bringing back the happy hour.

We decided to go here instead of oceana, and it did not disappoint. Food was excellent, patio was pretty, you could here the Luau going on. The bread and dips were absolutely delicious.

Service has always been spotty here but the happy hour made any complaint moot. I need to wait 10 mins with this view. okay. For years this was an enjoyable stop now I feel they are gouging. I had a similar experience as Dick S. after a day of sailing and taking my crew to the cat for ‘happy hour.’ The food was good but the tab, being the skipper and host, was a bit much. Service was acceptable.

San Diego’s best happy hour died today! Mission Bay once had San Diego’s crown jewel of happy hours at Moray’s outside of the Catamaran Hotel. Their appetizer menu used to have exquisite calamari, tender ginger-sesame chicken wings, and a plate of two wonderful, nice sized fish tacos, all for $ 5 during happy hour! R.I.P., cool happy hour, I miss you! I paddled across the bay yesterday to find that management had decided to gut the happy hour and appetizer menu. All appetizers are now $ 10 at happy hour. No more wings or calamari, and the fish taco plate contained three of the smallest fish tacos I have ever seen! Helooo Guiness Book of World Records: World’s Smallest Fish Tacos! I would have been livid if I had paid the $ 14 normal price. the rest off the appy menu was pretty meh. Crab fritters, cheese plate, cold cuts, dip, and bacon wrapped dates. Really? Great beers on tap still, but only a buck off the normal price at HH. Great staff, but the overall feeling I got was that the goal was to fleece as much cash from the hotel guests as possible, and give the finger to locals. Come on, Moray’s…bring back the old Happy Hour!

Two stars only for the atmosphere and good drink selection. However the service is absolutely(and consistently) horrible. Slow slow slow… every single time we visit. I literally watched my clock for 10 minutes while 5 waitresses just stood there socializing. So ridiculous.

This place has stepped it up. Now you can order food from oceanas costal grill. I have been here two times since the menu changed and I love it. Yum ! Great views. The service was perfect and the food was better !

Great outdoor seating! We stopped by for a quick drink and snack before getting ready for dinner. Pina Colada and margarita were both good. we ordered chips and guac to go along with our drinks. Chips tasted homemade and were fantastic. The guac lacked flavor. It just tasted liked mashed avacados. It needed some salt, jalapenos, and lime.

Indoor/outdoor lounge and bar in Catamaran Hotel. If you lucky(gets super busy here) grab a seat outside and enjoy beautiful bay views. Outdoor patio also has a few fire pits, which is great since it gets a bit chilly in the evenings. I usually come here for HH — 3 – 6 pm daily. There are lots of specials on wine, beer and well drinks. Their indoor bar area definitely needs a makeover, looks very outdated, dark, and no ambiance. The only highlight is the giant fish tank decorating the bar wall. Bartenders area lacking enthusiasms and barely cracking a smile. On the plus side, they are pretty generous with wine pours. Check it out if you are around Mission bay

Denyse is the worst bartender. I hope the company takes Unilocal reviews into consideration and either puts her through hospitality training or gets rid of her. I’m a local and I feel so bad for the people who are trying to enjoy their vacation and have to deal with her. The only reason I don’t visit this bar at times is because of her. She’s snooty and can never be bothered. She knows nothing about hospitality and should find a job that consists of zero human interaction. Kristi and Sean on the other hand are the best. So accommodating and make you feel right at home. They have a wonderful happy hour DAILY from 3pm-6pm. $ 4.50 beer, $ 5.50 wine, $ 5 well cocktails and all appetizers are $ 8! They need to get rid of the chicken quesadilla on the happy hour menu— not even a quesadilla. Filled with BBQ sauce and chicken is bulky and cold half the time. Great shrimp tacos. If it wasn’t for Kristi and Sean this place would get 1 star.

Horrible! Was staying at the Catamaran resort and decided to get a quick bite and a drink at this bar. Our bartender Denyse was a total B*, she had major bad attitude and ignored us for 15 mins, then when she finally acknowledged out presence, she told us to wait, while she continue to stack glasses. Really? stacking glasses is more important than serving your customers? Then she finally takes our order and was extremely mean to us. The other bartenders were all alot nicer than her, she eventually left and Sean took over and he was a sweetheart, wish we had him first.
