This park is close to my house and daycare! We love coming by here after work to play and relax under the trees. What I love: my Lab can play with kids, my daughter can play with kids and run for nearly a mile safely, the grass is clean, the playgrounds are clean, it’s tucked away in a nice little neighborhood! Not sure what the earlier review was about! I’m and all the visitors of this park are kid friendly locals that keep this park clean!

Its ok… nothing fancy. I go here almost ever weekend because my husband plays basketball here. People bring there dogs here and i dont think its cool because they dont clean up behind them so there is crap on the grass. Not really a kid friendly park to me even though they have a play ground, i think the city or parks and recreation center should do a better job on the upkeep of this park. Especially with the dog issue… take you dogs to the dog park people!!!

Like the first review states, there’s nothing too special about this park. However, where this place falls sadly short is the current state of the basketball courts. Although all four baskets on both courts are currently standing and fully functional, the state of the court borders on dangerous. It’s been quite a while between refinishing, and there are quite a bit of potholes on the court. Sprained ankles are a near certainty if you aren’t being careful. Double rims are the standard here, so unfriendly bounces on wayward jump shots will always occur. As a plus, the courts are lighted, so if evening basketball is your thing, you are in luck. On most days, you will be competing for court time with the local neighborhood kids and the occasional solitary shooter… it’s definitely not the best place to try and get some 5 on 5 in. Lastly, watch out for the plethora of mosquitoes that seem to congregate in that area. Once darkness settles in, make sure you have that calamine ready because they will be there to bite you.

I pretty much grew up at Olive Grove Park. I went to Lafayette Elementary School right down the street, and we came here all the time for P.E. The local middle school and high school students hang out here as well, and it’s also where a lot of families come for picnics, barbecues, and playing with their kids and dogs. There’s nothing too special about Olive Grove Park, but it’s a nice place. It has a playground, swings, two basketball courts, a large fenced-in field with two baseball triangles, and a lot of open grassy space and oliver trees. If there’s no one playing in it, the fenced-in field is a great place to let your dog run loose, but I’m pretty sure an unleashed dog is technically illegal here, so keep an eye out for park rangers. Overall, Olive Grove is a simple, well-used, well-kept neighborhood park.
